Reliable Monitoring Tool for DevOps, but Takes Time to Master Advanced Setup
What do you like best about the product?
I used Grafana during my DevOps internship mainly for monitoring servers and application services. We connected Grafana with Prometheus as the main data source and also used custom metrics from OTel.
What I like most is how easy it becomes to monitor everything from one place once the dashboards are set up. I created dashboards to check service uptime, system metrics and application health and also configured alerts to get notified when something went wrong. The integration with Prometheus queries works well, and real-time metrics help a lot during incidents. It saves time because you don’t have to manually check logs or servers again and again.

What do you dislike about the product?
The main difficulty I faced was during metric integration and dashboard setup, especially when working with custom metrics. For new users, it takes time to understand which metrics to use and how to structure panels properly.
Alert and dashboard configuration can feel complex at first and advanced features have a steep learning curve. Better and more practical documentation for real production use cases would make onboarding easier, especially for interns or beginners.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Grafana helps in monitoring servers and services continuously in a production environment. Instead of manually checking systems or logs, we can quickly identify issues using dashboards and alerts.
If a service goes down, it is visible immediately on Grafana, which helps the team respond faster. This improves incident handling and reduces downtime. Overall, it made monitoring more organized and efficient during my internship

Excellent Performance for Small to Medium Cloud Environments
What do you like best about the product?
It performs very well in small and medium-sized cloud or container environments. The implementation experience has been very positive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Cost increase with a larger scale, no full control, sometimes dashboards load slowly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Grafana cloud is a very convenient and practical monitoring tool, especially if you dont want to bother with maintaining your own infrastructure.

Comprehensive Monitoring Made Easy with Grafana
What do you like best about the product?
Grafana provides a clear overview of errors in our application, displays pod statuses, and helps us monitor the behavior of our HTTP server using OpenTelemetry. Additionally, the wide range of available plugins further enhances the overall experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface can be challenging to navigate at first, and the overall setup process is quite difficult, especially if you are not very tech-savvy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Grafana provides us with valuable insights into the health of our application. Each morning, we review it to identify any potential issues or unusual patterns in our app's behavior.

The platform may seem complicated to newcomers, as there is a noticeable learning curve when it comes to setup and more advanced configurations. Additionally, certain features demand a higher level of technical expertise, which can make it harder for teams without a strong technical background to adopt the platform quickly.

Grafana Labs addresses the challenge of limited visibility in complex systems by unifying metrics, logs, and traces within a single observability platform. This integration allows me to identify issues more quickly, gain real-time insights into system behavior, and minimize downtime, which in turn enhances both reliability and my confidence in operations.

One challenge is that Grafana’s flexibility and rapid evolution can create a learning curve and occasional complexity for new users as the ecosystem grows.

Grafana Labs solves the problem of making complex system data observable and understandable in real time, which benefits me by enabling faster debugging, better reliability, and clearer insights across metrics, logs, and traces from a single platform.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the features in Grafana Labs for monitoring alerts in the dashboard and initiating the issue with our leadership team. The real-time visibility into system health, security events, and operational anomalies through monitoring alerts in a centralized dashboard is excellent. This proactive approach allows potential issues to be detected early, often before they escalate into service disruptions or security incidents. The initial setup was relatively straightforward, and the process of installing, integrating with data sources, and creating basic dashboards was easy with the help of the available documentation.

While Grafana Labs is a powerful and flexible observability platform, there are a few areas where improvements could enhance usability and operational efficiency: Dashboard performance with large data sets, plugin compatibility and maintenance, and alerting configuration complexity.

I use Grafana Labs for monitoring GCP platform resources. It helps by sending alerts during peak time, offering real-time visibility, detecting potential issues early, and preventing service disruptions.

I love the graphical user interface (GUI) of Grafana Labs, which is beneficial for both end users and management teams. I find the dashboard designs to be outstanding and appreciate the customizable visualizations that make data interpretation more intuitive. The dynamic filtering and variables allow for flexible data interaction, making it easier to tailor the experience to specific needs. Additionally, the alert configuration via the GUI enhances usability and responsiveness. Overall, the setup process of Grafana Labs was impressive and less time-consuming than expected, taking around six months to integrate with the entire network effectively.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the alerting capabilities of Grafana Labs limiting. Although the alerts are powerful, crafting advanced alert logic often requires proficiency in PromQL or the use of custom queries. This complexity can be challenging for those who do not have a developer background, making it difficult to fully utilize the alerting features without specialized knowledge.

I use Grafana Labs for real-time network security monitoring, which solves lack of visibility, delayed incident detection, and manual reporting issues. It offers customizable dashboards and alerting, improving my response time and efficiency.

What I like best: Grafana is fast, clear, and flexible. It turns raw metrics into something instantly readable, and the plugin ecosystem makes it easy to connect to anything without hassle.

What I dislike: Large dashboards can get heavy, and managing too many data sources or panels becomes messy fast. Alerting still feels a bit clunky compared to how polished the visualization side is.

Perfect observation; Metrics, logs, and traces land in one place, so I don’t waste time jumping between tools. It gives a clear, real-time view of system behavior, which helps spot issues faster and understand trends without digging through raw data. That visibility makes troubleshooting quicker and decisions cleaner.
Great free tool for custom dashboards

I love how Grafana provides powerful and customizable dashboards. It makes visualizing data from various sources like Wazuh and CrowdStrike super easy, giving us clear insights in real-time. The flexibility in creating alerts and tracking metrics is a huge plus for us to monitor our cloud resources.

While Grafana is great for data visualization, setting up some of the more advanced features can be a bit complex. It can take time to learn all the configurations and integrations, especially if you're new to the platform.

Grafana Labs helps us make sense of complex data by turning it into easy-to-read, customizable dashboards. It pulls in data from tools like Wazuh and CrowdStrike, so we can quickly spot issues and track important metrics. This saves me time and makes it much easier to stay on top of security events and performance.
