Upskilling on the side

  • August 08, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It provides video tutorials and examples, followed by exercises to check our understanding. And that it has career tracks or skill tracks that maps out courses to take so we don't need to figure that out ourselves.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the sequences can be a bit jumbled up. I had arrived at some SQL courses without prior knowledge of some of the terminologies they used. Maybe it's the difference between PostgreSQL and mySQL, I can't be sure
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Not solving per se.
Benefiting as in upskilling in case my line of work needs it in the future.
Also that data science is my interest

+3 years of learning on DataCamp

  • August 06, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Platform integrations for coding and data-analysis software. Datacamp has been a pioneer in "hands-on" learning platforms through their wonderful integrations and instant, hands-on feedback. They have transformed learning into a very fun process.
What do you dislike about the product?
An area for improvement could be enabling learners to change the pace of a course, this is already embedded in the coding education through some quizzes, but it could still expand. More gamification could be another suggestion.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Turning self-learning into a very fun experience through integrated learning platforms and focusing on hands-on learning through the instant feedback learner receives.

  • August 04, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
This is a hands-on platform where learning happens by doing. Just like training machine learning models, repeated exposure to data solidifies our understanding. Practical experience cements knowledge in any subject.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not flexible when it comes to answers. You have to do what is written.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Makes resources available for use. This makes it easy to navigates and learn on self pacing speed.

Transform Your Data Skills with DataCamp!

What do you like best about the product?
I’ve been using DataCamp since 2021, and subscribing to their yearly plan was one of the best investments I’ve ever made! From my days as a Marketing student to my current role as a Junior Business Intelligence Developer, DataCamp has been instrumental in my journey.

Their engaging and interactive courses helped me land a job and continue to advance my career. Studying weekly on DataCamp has become my favorite hobby—there's nothing more relaxing than diving into insightful videos and hands-on exercises.

If you’re looking to boost your data skills and career, I highly recommend DataCamp. It's a fantastic investment in your future!
What do you dislike about the product?
While some tasks can be a bit too easy, I understand they are helpful for beginners just getting their feet wet. However, I’ve found their job platform to be less useful, as I rarely use it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of the key problems DataCamp solves is helping users develop skills in specific fields. Whether I want to improve my SQL skills or advance my career as a Data Analyst, DataCamp offers plenty of courses and career tracks categorized by the required programming language. The best thing DataCamp is doing right now is its focus on data, making it easy for users to find related courses and learn effectively.

The interactive courses using real coding
What do you dislike about the product?
Maybe more career tracks with other tools
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Coding practice and improve the programming knowledge. It is a real benefit because I feel more prepared for better data analysis positions

DataCamp help you to learn cutting edge technologies

What do you like best about the product?
It has a lot of courses that helps me to dive into topics related with data (science or engineering). You learn by doing and that's a big advantage over YouTube videos. In addition, you can start projects and test your abilities in their DataCamp Workspace. It has a lot of courses that helps you learn from scratch, even if you haven't code before.

It has a good catalog in topics related to data science, and a lot covered in data engineering.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think there are some missing courses and compatibility with some features in DataCamp Workspace. For example, in courses, there are no courses about asyncio, or multithreading, only tutorials and some of them does not work at some point ( they have code examples that are executable but doesn't show the code in it).

In addition, I think there is a missing feature in notebooks at workspace cause you don't have acccess to Docker, or to use GPU (I would definitely pay premium if it is integrated later on).

Also, I've struggled and frustrated when using some packages in workspace cause they don't work properly (maybe because of the current container configuration of the Workspace like missing packages and the inability to install new ones using apt-get).

I also would love to have a built-in functionality to preserve previously installed packages over disconnections.

I've also had problems with the firewall/network configuration, I cannot use most of the products from Azure inside my DataCamp Workspace like CosmosDB or Keyvault to access and connect my services.

I think it worths to check services Azure or other platform services inside Workspace to see if they work or not inside this good looking tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
They have helped me to dive deeper into machine learning and generative IA, that is one of the most popular topics right now.

I helped me a lot when I was in college and I use it occasionally in my work when I need to learn a new skill, for example, Kafka or Kubernetes.

Thr best learning platform for aspiring data scientists

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The fact that there are structured pathways for you to follow in order to achieve your goals. There are so many respurces available on the Internet, but you always get lost in it all, so the structured format really helps. I joined DataCamp with very basic python knowledge, and following along the Data Science track equipped me with the skills I needed to land a career in tech.
What do you dislike about the product?
My only criticism would be is I hope the exercises would contain less filled in code and expected you to write most of it yourself. Apart from that, no downsides whatsoever
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Whenever I want to learn a new skill in my field, for example, deploying models in Pytorch, it'll have a course to guide you through and give you a solid understanding. Then the real life projects really help consolidate that knowledge, when sometimes it's hard to think of your own.

Simple and a great platform for a career change.

What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful part of DataCamp is to understand the platforms used in daily life for a Data Analyst, etc. This is extremely benefical to understand if I want to make this career change as I can easily use Tableau which requires a subscription for example.
What do you dislike about the product?
Least helpful part of DataCamp are the practice questions are repetitive. While this isn't a massive concern as the content is good, it is a downside.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
DataCamp is helping me solve whether I want to make a career change and what platforms I enjoy using. This makes me better understand how I want my day-to-day to look like.

What do you like best about the product?
Datacamp always has courses that are used in the industry. It is always up to date.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing that I do not like about Datacamp is that it has a few SQL projects. I think the number of projects can be increased. Also, the number of countries in the job section should be increased.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I learned many many things in DataCamp. I have dramatically increased my coding skills and have developed many soft skills. The competitiveness for jobs in data science industry is huge and DataCamp helped me a lot to get a job.
