What is our primary use case?
My main use case for AlphaSense is for the investor relations team, as AlphaSense provides us access to sell-side research, a tremendous search function to search SEC documents and an easy way to track peer news and events. AlphaSense helps tremendously with monitoring peer transcripts and ad hoc projects, and much more that we need to send off key learnings to our C-suite.
A quick specific example of how I have used AlphaSense for investor relations or to support my C-suite is during an ad hoc project that required us to search across our peers' publicly available documents and presentations. AlphaSense saved us much time by allowing us to quickly search in one platform for what we were looking for, rather than having to poke around these companies' individual websites.
I have found some key learnings we would not have found otherwise with my main use case with AlphaSense.
What is most valuable?
The best features AlphaSense offers include the AI feature that allows me to comb through government documents and do a word search on them.
The AI feature helps me specifically by making access easier; searching publicly available documents has been easy, and summarizing transcripts, finding or tracking peer news, and finding companies for ad hoc projects has been easy.
AlphaSense has positively impacted my organization as this tool really has been great because it has saved us a lot of time and cost.
I can estimate that our productivity has improved, efficiency has also been gained, resulting in deeper competitor insights to make data-driven decisions easily and more informed macro trends, along with extra preparation for earnings.
What needs improvement?
AlphaSense can be improved with more flexibility to search reports.
I would also add that the workbook is helpful, but it can be easier to export so I can get the notes back into my internal workflows.

My main use case for AlphaSense is that it's a very easy-to-use tool because of its intuitive and user-friendly interface. It facilitates faster, deeper workflows. I use this mostly for research and idea screening. I get the most benefit in deep-dive research where normally it's difficult to be able to find niche details or information that help me with thesis, iteration, and risk analysis. AlphaSense's ability to help me sort through this data via the GenAI, GenAI search, as well as grid has greatly improved my workflows and productivity.
We use AlphaSense to research companies for corporate development and other purposes. It's very helpful to use the expert calls and transcript summaries to quickly get a deep understanding of a company. You can also use the dashboard and updates to keep track of companies you want to follow.
What is most valuable?
The best features AlphaSense offers are expert calls, summarizing earnings calls, giving an overview of the company, its ownership, employee count, and revenue.
It's also very helpful for quick searching for information from various documents. Notebook is helpful for real-time workflow. GenAI is great, and the generative grid of side-by-side comparison of the company transcripts is fantastic.
AlphaSense has positively impacted my organization. Since we started using this tool, we've seen great improvement. We've been able to find and speed up research on companies that we want to follow. It helps provide strong insights into earnings calls that I wouldn't have time to gain on my own. It has been very helpful because of more granular data, more granular insights, broader resources utilized, and better diversity of opinions.

When I am understanding a space for the first time, I can flesh out various experts, documents, and other information, and AlphaSense is also very well suited for that.

A specific example of how I have used AlphaSense for due diligence and market research is that the product addresses a lack of consistent information on the open web, a shortage of customer or relevant party interviews, and inadequate financial models.
Our scope is somewhat narrow, as we do not delve into market filings or regulatory information that is present within the platform, though these resources are always utilized when preparing for an investment.
What is most valuable?
The best features AlphaSense offers include financial modeling, expert interviews, and market and industry research.
Out of these features, I rely on market and industry research the most because it stands out for its market sizing and participant breakdown capabilities. Financial modeling also provides excellent value through easy access to detailed models from companies around the world. Additionally, AlphaSense provides access to topical and timely research.
AlphaSense has positively impacted my organization since adopting this tool. Everything has been great because it provides sentiment analysis, easy access to industry trends and developments, and access to topical and timely research reports, making it very easy to quickly access industry trends and specific data examples.
What needs improvement?
AlphaSense could be improved, as the AI agent could answer more detailed questions and provide better data.
There are improvements needed for AlphaSense, particularly access to real-time financial data in a similar vein to Koyfin.

AlphaSense has much broader coverage breadth as it includes financial data, market data, private research, and expert interviews, making it a great tool. I believe the platform has a learning curve, but once you go through it, it becomes very easy to use and, in my opinion, offers a better experience than something like PitchBook or Capital IQ, where most searches depend on selecting different attributes and buttons to segment the search instead of being natural language-based. I would rate this review nine out of ten.

It concentrates a lot of information from a lot of companies, but it is easy to navigate and find the information you're looking for, making it more accessible and easier to gather insights
What do you dislike about the product?
It doesn't have an Excel plug-in like S&P has, so I can't export data from Alphasense directly into Excel using the plug-in without having to go into the Alphasense platform, download the data, and then make the analysis.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Aggregating financial data, I can see what the different companies are saying and what their financials are, and the tool provides transcriptions of earnings calls that I can turn into insights. That level of information gives me competitive intelligence, financial benchmarking, industry trends, etc
Faster Market Research with Room for Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
I really like the ease of use with AlphaSense and how it allows me to search for keywords quickly. It brings up very good and high-quality articles, which is great for my research needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think at the moment, sometimes the new user interface is difficult to use. What else that could be improved is to ensure that searches come up with high quality articles. It's very easy for low quality articles and research reports to come out. So if there's a way to filter for high quality articles, like from JPMorgan, well-published analysts, and so on, that would be good so we don't get results from low quality sources and articles.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
AlphaSense lets me access research quickly, faster than Google. I like its ease of use, fast keyword searching, and the high-quality articles it brings up.
No-Show Demo and Two Weeks of Silence: A Deeply Unprofessional Experience
What do you like best about the product?
I thought their curated AI-assisted lookup feature was pretty good.
What do you dislike about the product?
They demoed their platform for me. We were set to have a launch 8:30am which required us to rearrange our schedules. Alphasense was a no-show. It's been two weeks and we have not heard back from them after repeated emails to multiple people. Probably the most unprofessional experience I've ever had in nearly 30 years of doing business. Even if the product was perfect, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It didn't solve any problems because they completely ghosted our team.

I really like AlphaSense because it stands out among similar CI platforms. It brings together an exceptionally large library of premium financial, corporate, and industry content with advanced, context-aware AI search that surfaces highly relevant insights in seconds, saving analysts and consultants significant research time. I also appreciate its generative AI features, which synthesize findings with citations, and the option to integrate internal company documents so everything lives in a single, secure research hub for both proprietary and external information. Overall, these capabilities support faster, more accurate decision-making and make it easier to streamline collaboration across teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
AlphaSense’s main drawbacks, in my experience, are usability and cost. While the platform is very powerful, those features come with a steep learning curve and a complex interface, which makes it difficult for me to refine searches and navigate the large volume of information it returns. The breadth of coverage can also create information overload, so I have to spend extra time filtering and narrowing results to find what I need. At the same time, there is limited data and information on CIS (Russian) and Asian companies. Finally, it is a premium, high‑cost solution, which can make it less accessible for smaller teams or organizations with tight budgets.

AlphaSense helps me address the challenges of scattered information, slow manual research, and the difficulty of synthesizing large volumes of market and financial data by bringing premium external sources and internal company documents together in a single, AI‑powered research platform. Its advanced search, summarization, and alerting features meaningfully accelerate insight generation and lower the risk of overlooking important developments. As a result, I’m able to make faster, more accurate decisions and maintain a more streamlined, efficient research workflow.
