Asana changed my business!
What do you like best about the product?
Asana keeps each of my projects so organized. With so many moving parts to each one, it is often easy to forget or overlook upcoming due dates, details, etc. Asana helps me remember to check in with clients, be prepared for upcoming due dates, and keep track of all the details along the way.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I would add to Asana is the ability to add photos to projects. I am an interior designer and it would be helpful to include photos embedded in the software rather than as an attachment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps keep my projects on task and keeps me ahead of my client's needs.

What do you like best about the product?
The best feature is the timeline view - you can see an entire year's worth of projects broken down into their individual parts, which makes it really easy to stay on top of.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was an easier way (or a way at all) to transfer tasks between accounts - i.e. if I have a business account and a personal account, I'd like to be able to copy tasks/projects to both accounts so that if I leave the company and lose the business account, I'll still have certain things saved in my personal account without having to manually copy them over one by one.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's helped me create organization within our staff where there previously was none and helps me see the bigger picture with various projects that I'm working on.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely recommend it if you're looking for a way to organize projects down to their smallest tasks and be able to see everything in one place easily.

Not ideal for graphics-intensive work.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it for grants tracking, so I can assign out pieces to different team members and easily gather pieces back to me. I love that I can hyperlink to previous years notes, attachments, etc. for easy reference, which is really helpful with donors.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I cherish their free form with a firey enthusiasm, yet once drawback is as they have developed, the free form has lost some seeking/detailing ability. However, utilizing their paid item makes you all that you could need. So in the event that you are guiding the free form to get a sense, there is significantly increasingly out there.
Great project management tool
What do you like best about the product?
Asana has been so helpful to my team. We create dashboards for our projects and we can invite people from outside teams to join our project dashboards and make contributions to the tasks. I like the ease with which you can create new projects, tasks, subtasks, attach and share files, and track tasks. Dashboards are customizable and intuitive to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
With the free version, you can't create dependent tasks that automatically change the due dates. You also can't create gantt charts. There are a lot of great features with the paid version that I wish were available for the free version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our team is able to continuously stay up to date with all of our projects. MY boss is able to check in on all of our progress without needing to talk. We can also assign tasks throughout meetings, which solves the need to send follow up emails.
Easy, Effecient Tast Managemetn
What do you like best about the product?
Organization, flexibility, and collaboration. I can organize tasks on the fly or way in advance and only see what is relevant to my day right then. The software is flexible enough to fit a ton of custom solutions. I have taken advantage of this to make all kinds of flow boards, dynamic projects, and interactive to-do lists. Finally, the collaboration and communication on Asana has absolutely changed the way our whole company functions.
What do you dislike about the product?
The iPhone and iPad app lacks just a few features that make it a little less intuitive. This by no means should prohibit anyone from becoming a user. However, if they would add the keyboard shortcuts and an archive all feature to the inbox it would be pretty close to perfect.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We actually do all of our internal communication on Asana. No texts, emails, or products like Slack needed. We use it to approve drafts, share design files, and collaborate on documents. It really has become an all-in-one communication tool for us.
Asana fits the bill
What do you like best about the product?
The best part of Asana is that it's easy to manage my home and work life in one app. With easy mobile or web apps, I'm able to note the task for whatever comes up regardless of where I am.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although you can add tags to the favorites, I wish tag management was easier. Using GTD method, tags are essential. Also wish it would integrate with Harvest. Still need to use another task management system that does to manage tasks that require time tracking.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Because Asana has a good free option, I'm able to set up new teams for each client.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
With a little time and effort you will be able to set up Asana in a manner that works with your company's work flow. It might take a few tries but by trial and error as well as looking up what others are doing on YouTube, you can find a solution that works.
Wonderful software - Time consuming set up
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is a wonderful CRM and project management system. I currently use Asana to manage clients everyday tasks as well as one time projects. One of the features I love is that I can customize the software as I need it and I don't have to upgrade to do so.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a huge learning curve when setting up Asana. I had to not only watch video tutorials but I had to contact support many times during the customization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using Asana for project management and day to day client operations. One benefit is the use of the software with no cost associated.

If you are considering Asana, watch videos and tutorials before trying to set it up. The videos and tutorials will save you a lot of time.
Takes a while to get used to, but works pretty well
What do you like best about the product?
The basic idea is simple: create checklists of tasks to be completed, and make sure that whoever needs to complete the tasks gets nudges and email reminders. People can collaborate, add comments and subtasks, tag each other, etc. You can use the project structure and comments almost any way you want to denote priority, request changes, keep track of issues, etc. The whole thing feels pretty flexible. It works well as a basic task management software.
A couple minor UX notes: It's nifty the way the text in task titles and descriptions automatically saves and updates on other users' screens real-time! (Plus, they have little themes complete with animated snowflakes for winter, which is pretty delightful.) They seem to be pushing in a direction of making things cleaner, more modern, and more robust, which is great.

What do you dislike about the product?
When I first started using Asana, it was not really clear to me where I should go and how I should use it at all. I guess I missed their onboarding flows somehow. It seemed to me that I was looking at a bunch of projects that didn't involve me, and struggling to find my own tasks. I tended to just search for phrases I remembered from particular projects to land there, or bookmark the specific page, or ask someone to remind me where it was and send a link, because navigation felt really weird.
However, after a little poking around for a year and a half, I've gradually come to understand it better. I prefer Leankit for most projects, but Asana is helpful for a meeting agenda or some basic task that I'm likely to forget to do if I'm not nudged and bugged about it.
At the same time, nudging and bugging about tasks can be achieved a hundred other ways. Slack has a little bot that will remind you about something on the day and time you choose and let you mark it as done when it's done, for example. There are probably loads of other checklist apps. And sometimes I still find myself using a good old-fashioned pen and paper, because sometimes that's the best way to clear my head. Asana strikes me as overkill.

It helps a manager make sure everyone on the team has completed a task and generally keeps track of stuff that mutiple people need to work on and discuss in a way that a simple notepad or text file won't. It works for actual tasks to be done as well as items to discuss, and it's pretty flexible about the structure of your projects and tasks. Without it, I wouldn't ever necessarily miss most of the features, but I would probably think, "I need a virtual checklist of some sort."
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend taking some time to actually get onboarded to the tool, unlike me. It will probably seem better to you that way. I think Asana is also improving their navigation and adding better features all the time, so I plan to keep using it and learning more about it, and I recommend others do the same if they need such a tool. Still, if you're trying to go the lean/agile route and focus on chunks of value rather than tasks, Asana may not help you much. As far as I can tell, Asana is to be used more the way you would use a to-do list to avoid forgetting to do a bunch of little things, but you can share it with others and make sure they do their parts too.
Favorite Project Management Solution
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite thing about Asana is that everyone can see everyone else's tasks listed on the calendar. This makes it much easier to communicate what everyone is working on.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the fact that subtasks are not automatically assigned the same tags as their parent tasks, and that these tags, once assigned again, aren't visible until you click on the specific subtasks. It also would be easier if you could assign one task to multiple people instead of duplicating the task for every person.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The platform is relatively intuitive, and it's the first platform we've used that allows everyone to get a visual timeline of the tasks that need to be completed. This helps make everyone more accountable for their own projects, especially those that other employees are dependent on.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Everyone has to buy in to using the product, but it makes productivity so much easier once everyone has gotten into the habit of using it.

What do you like best about the product?
Asana helps me to highlight activities so that my team finishes them faster and, if I forget the task, Asana notifies me by email or by its mobile application, it is ideal for large groups of people, since it allows you to be more organized and attentive to the activities to be carried out.
What do you dislike about the product?
Its interface does not like me much because it lacks colors and can not be customized to my liking, however its functionality is excellent.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is excellent because with Asana we avoid having extra personnel for the organization and the management of the projects.

There is no doubt that Asana can help you in your work, as well as track your activities or simply organize your employees to perform their tasks in the most efficient way, I recommend it.
