Couldn't Function Without Asana

  • July 01, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is the perfect mix of personal/team task management and new features are being added that make it an even more helpful tool. Our team uses it to manage more than 175 events across the world!
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the "My Tasks" section could be improved. It works fine, but sometimes I find myself struggling with the default view of that section and there's very limited customization available. As a workaround, I typically create a "dashboard" project and add tasks to that project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana allows us to get out of the email inbox and get work done. The collaboration tools are fantastic (and are constantly improving). I spend most of my day with outlook closed and Asana open, so real work can get done.

Ideal for small work teams

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is the best known workflow manager and although it doesn't have many updates and appearance changes, it is still the spearhead to facilitate the management of projects in large teams. The free version is enough for my computer because each user can create a free account and rotate the work without having to pay. On previous occasions we have bought paid memberships but we don't see the need to do it again. The way you can edit the tasks in very comfortable because you can start editing just by posing the mouse on a box, the social interaction within the application gives it a similar look to Facebook and this way the team can make comments on the development of the project in general.

The process to upload files is very dynamic and easy to use, we have not experienced loss of data despite having few updates. The calendar included in Asana and the free templates are fantastic, very similar to Evernote's and in them you can start placing data without having to modify too much. The visual aspect, the speed of the platform in the web environment and the ability to add lots of notes and make comments social network style, make Asana my favorite online project manager.
What do you dislike about the product?
Personalization is something that cannot be applied in Asana in a profound way. While you can change the color of each project to differentiate them, it is not a satisfactory change for those who wish to give a completely different look to the visual appearance of their projects. While Asana remains focused on simplicity, they should allow the introduction of third party applications to empower their platform. If Asana implements the same vision of Slack, allowing the creation of channels and an open API that allows the integration of Bots and classic Google programs, then it would be used by more people and would be more positioned in the world of online projects. There are also errors when editing some boxes, you start typing but it is not saved automatically, although it is a minor problem because generally in Asana are written phrases cut.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana has not contributed so significantly to my company's projects because we relegated it to independent work of each work team but the organization that has given us to take control of each step has been great and so we highly recommend it to anyone who wants to have notes online and thus not forget the simplest tasks but no less important for the organization and completion of projects.

Develop and organize your tasks faster

  • June 30, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
With Asana I can make the development process of my projects faster, since it offers me excellent tools with which I can assign tasks to my work team, I have the possibility of creating boards in which I can add my activity lists and documents.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not really like its interface, I think it lacks more customization options and more colors, I also think that Asana plans are a bit expensive and it depends a lot on the number of members that make up my team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana, helps me to be more attentive to recent activities and those that are about to expire, also makes my team more productive when developing projects.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is an excellent tool with which you can keep your work organized in your office, it has a free version with which you can start working, in terms of its Premium version, keep in mind that the larger your work equipment, the more expensive.

A project management tool that goes beyond project management

  • June 30, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, smart user interface, portfolios and custom fields, templates, timeline, status updates, milestones. Ability to link tasks between projects allows to create master projects for executive view and link detailed projects into the master projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was an easy way to manage custom fields and users in a large team or division.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Asana business edition for everything, starting from meetings, to brainstorming sessions, to projects of any size and even goal setting.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for a work management software that's friendly and powerful choose Asana.

Asana is a very minimalist application

  • June 29, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
One of Asana's slogans is to make workflows more fun, I differ from that because Asana is just another project manager where you have to familiarize yourself with the platform in order to take advantage of it. It is user friendly in every way and with a free version to test its features. The main difference with its competitors is the extreme simplicity with which you handle workflows but this limits the compatibility with the administration data and multimedia files. Its work panel is very simple and tries to show everything in the main menu so it can increase the stress of having so much work in front of you.

It is built to design workflows in blocks in a very intuitive and easy way, from the beginning you can create workflows without specifying a specific project. It is very productive for work teams that are very committed to the project because otherwise Asana will be sterile, tasks can be assigned to different people and comments can be made on each giving rise to a working discussion, this interactivity is very important although there should be an online chat for this. It is beneficial to have the ability to upload files up to 100 MB in weight, which facilitates communication and sharing large files. The calendar view of the projects is well implemented and is very useful to filter the projects and not see them all on the main screen.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana is a strange platform that does not seem to take a successful course, its vision of managing workflows does not convince because all flows can be seen from the main screen and this only makes the management of the project stressful and confusing, there must be some way to better filter each project so they are not confused with each other. The system of created tasks is subject to many errors because sometimes they are not saved automatically and this causes discomfort, I think the aspect of Asana should change to a more careful in text editing, remember that it is not a simple tool for notes but project management. Ideal would be to have a platform like Evernote but intended for workflows.

It is frustrating not to be able to change the background, the colors in Asana's platform, this could serve to differentiate different projects and adapt to the visual preferences of each employee included in the edition of a project. The most resultant features are only available in the paid version and this seems to me a limitation because many will be disappointed with the few options of the free option thinking that Asana does not offer anything else. I see that animations have been added as a symbol of celebration, I do not like it, I prefer to improve the platform in terms of adding more complex functions and get out of minimalism.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana is a minimalist platform that allows little customization and focuses on little modifiable workflows. It is user friendly but with a confusing approach that will make many go for better developed options. For the time being I will continue to use it for simple projects but it is not recommended to use it in complex projects.

Make your work a more interactive process

  • June 28, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana has excellent options for managing projects and tasks, I can create dashboards, documents, lists and calendars, I can also integrate third-party software, such as Office 365, which allows me to have everything in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some additional asana applications are usually expensive, and I would like your interface to be more customizable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps me to manage the activities, allows me to assign activities to my team very easily, I can also access my work from my phone.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
An ideal tool for both small businesses and large companies, has everything you need to be in order and up to date with your work.

Great project management tool!

  • June 28, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Very detailed project management tool compared to others I have tried in the past. You can have parent tasks and tasks within other tasks which all link together. You get notifications to let you know when anyone has commented or a task has changed at all. You will never miss a comment. Very beneficial if you're having issues with task management. You can see what your team are doing at a single moment if you need to check at an instant.
What do you dislike about the product?
You need to train people on it as it can be quite complicated but definitely worth taking the take to realise all the features. A lot of emails if you are an admin but can be changed in settings. You also have to update the in progress etc a lot but this can be beneficial and negative. Can be quite pricey when expanding your business as you need to pay for additional team members.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have used it for multiple projects. Using it to track progress as a brief owner. I can see out a project from brief to amends and also the sign off process too. Using Asana can be very beneficial to your business. Use it from start to finish with projects. From brief to completion.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get Asana if you're looking for a great detailed project management tool. It can be challenging to learn but definitely worth the time you may invest in it.

Asana has incredibly improved the way we work in the company

  • June 28, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to tell at a glance who's doing what for when.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to see a restyling in the tasks list, it's too plain, and if the list is long it's a bit difficult to get clear conclussions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When I first entered int he company, March 2018 tasks weren't being organised, everyone knew what to do but you couldn't find it nowhere. So my challenge in the company was creating a Asana driven working culture. One year later we have noticed a great improvement in the company's effectiveness. We use Asana for EVERYTHING, and there are many freaks (myself included) whoa re looking for new functions we could use.

Perfect for team collaboration

  • June 28, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Its interface is beautiful. I like its user friendly interface and how the card are managed. It is very flexible and very easy to use. Asana will help the with the main things during the project such as registering new projects and tasks, assigning the tasks to team members, notifications about things that are done or some comments, scheduling dates, permissions to the project, watchers who are involved in the project and etc. It is great that the board is adjustable and one can easily adjust that to his mind. The reports and graphs are great also, that Asana provides.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not much to say wrong about Asana. But i do not like the number of notifications that i receive on email, every move and every comment that are done to the project, where i am added and involved, i am sent and email. Sometimes it is very boring. I think it should be stabilized.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tasks management and team management are the main problem that i am resolving with Asana. It is easy and fast to assign tasks to team members and monitor them.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Recommended to project managers and team workers. It tides everything in its place.

Project and resources management made easy

  • June 27, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana best feature, in my opinion, is its transparency.
Allowing all teams to see what each people is working on, without having to ask or interrupt their work, is done wonders for our company. Also, its reports and search tools are advanced enough to allow us to measure efficiency, manage people priorities, and see projects progress.

It is so easy to use that we have 90%+ of our employees use it on a daily basis. It allows for cross-team collaboration. Manage incoming requests, invite clients to see the progress on their projects, or just track maintenance and repairs requests.

There is simply no wrong way of using it, as the tool adapts to each team's workflow.
What do you dislike about the product?
not a proper dislike, but I'd just wish the paid tiers were a bit more affordable. As a 100+ premium user company, we would get so much advantages of the newer features that are gated behind the Business tier, which is 10 USD more per user. we just cant afford it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All kinds of problems. Meeting agendas, prioritize people work, track construction projects. Payments tracking, processes, and pipelines design and control, and a lot more! Every single department in our company is using it and it has allowed us to collaborate effortlessly.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking into a tool for making your teams collaborate, manage priorities, to-do lists, and make sure all activities on your company have a person in charge; then this tool is for you.
