Eight Years with ASANA
What do you like best about the product?
The best parts of ASANA are the group interaction that we can stimulate with this tool. We have used ASANA for quite a long time to coordinate teams that are spread out all over the US and Asia. This tools allows us to coordinate activities and make sure the tasks assigned are completed in a timely manner.
What do you dislike about the product?
Actually, the updates are a little too frequent for me. What some may see as a positive, I dislike as it disrupts flow. While this may be inherent to new tools being developed, as a former software company owner, "feature creep" can be a hinderance at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We manage hundreds of projects across three (3) main business units. ASANA helps us keep our standard "process" for each project front and center. As a management tool, it allow me to manage groups on individual projects and focus on those that need my attention.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Start with just a few projects and refine your process first. Then implement on a larger scale
The best control for your work projects.
What do you like best about the product?
I like Asana because I can follow my projects interactively, it has very good features to work in collaboration with my team, it allows me to plan tasks with ease, I can also have my calendar with all the activities organized, I can upload files and assign tasks to my colleagues. Working with Asana, I keep my team informed of everything important.
What do you dislike about the product?
For starters, Asana offers you a free version, however, it lacks many features that you can only use if you switch to the Premium version. The cost of this software will also depend on how big your equipment is, however, it is very beneficial to obtain asanas because with this software you can be more productive and take your company to another level.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been able to solve many problems with Asana and one of the most important is the communication as we can keep the different departments of the company up to date with the latest activities and tasks to be done, in addition to helping us to maintain order.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Before using Asana, it is important that you know what kind of project you are going to develop, since that way you will know if this software will be able to adapt to what you need.
Functional and understandable for even the least advanced tech person
What do you like best about the product?
Organized, easy to manage, includes API so automation is possible, supports all of my team in a free capacity not having to pay by user. I also like that there is color coding capability but wish there were more progress bar options.
What do you dislike about the product?
Wish it had task chunks so you can template out timelines. I also wish that it had better budget tracking and version tracking like if it were to integrate with a document management system or something. Something else I don't like is that there's a lot more depth to programs like Jira and with this there requires a fair bit of plugin use and external python automation to have it do what I want it to structurally. All-in-all a great product, just a few nitty gritty preferences.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management x9000, too many moving parts before and now everything is slowly but surely becoming cohesive. We also had a lot of communication issues with other teams and now have eliminated a lot of those with contingency plans based on the different projects we have set up, as well as different methods to disseminate tasks to each team vs before where there was just a maelstrom of emails and questions and concerns from every which way.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you like Wrike but don't need all the over-the-top functionality and if you have team members who aren't as advanced technology-wise as others then you should try it out!
The single best task management & collaboration tool
What do you like best about the product?
As a roughly 6-person company with team members spread across the globe, we live and breathe Asana. Ever aspect of our executive coaching business runs on Asana, from low-level day-to-day tasks to high-level aspirational growth goals from the company. Asana makes it incredibly easy to establish repeating workflows and build systems for nearly every aspect of your business.
What do you dislike about the product?
As powerful as Asana's collaboration features are, they can infringe a little bit on privacy if you're not careful. You need to be very careful when creating and tracking a task you don't want others to see or have access to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Every aspect of our organization runs through Asana. We solve daily task management through Asana, 1:1 meeting agendas, high-level growth goals for the organization, and both long and short-term project planning.
Best Software I have used to keep up & updated with Tasks.
What do you like best about the product?
I love the way I can communicate with my colleagues and specially they get to see I was able to complete that task and if by any chance I get to end my shift with out completing that Task, they'll be able to continue that Tasks to make sure it gets completed.
What do you dislike about the product?
At the moment this software is perfect at least to me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I get to complete most of my tasks once I get assigned to them. I can just completed and if I need more time i'll just need to contact who ever I have to and change the due date to buy more time and get back to it when ever. I love it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is an a most software to have. It'll help everyone in the company to keep up with any tasks does not mater how difficult it can be, becs every one will be updated by just clicking in the task of the day.
Robust and growing platform for planning and managing project
What do you like best about the product?
The interface truly is one of the best parts of the app. The nudges and UX is just fun and memorable. The app offers a wide variety of features and doesn't cost as much as some other tools. The Timeline feature is great for planning larger projects, and the possibility of a proofing and approval functionality is exciting.
What do you dislike about the product?
If there's one thing I really don't like about the tool, it's the fact there's no way to switch a project back and forth between board view (Kanban) and list view.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use this tool to plan, run, and analyze our projects. This includes websites, videos, branding projects and more. It's helped reduce the spinup time for projects by allowing us to create and use project templates.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I'd highly recommend giving Asana a test drive to see if it fits your needs. It's a really robust app and very affordable.
Keeping Projects on Track
What do you like best about the product?
I've always been a list maker. I enjoy the feeling of being able to cross a task off as soon as it's completed. Asana steps up the task completion fun by providing you with a flying unicorn or other creature after a task is completed. Make sure the option is switched on though, otherwise you miss the magic.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana is a great project management tool once you get the hang of it. However, if everyone on your team is not using the program, it doesn't work to it's full capability. Also, I wish it was a little more user friendly. It's a little difficult to navigate when you're a beginner just starting out. Also, those flying magical creatures you see after completing a project, I wish those happened after EVERY completion, not just a few.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've become more organized with my everyday tasks and have managed to reach project deadlines with ease using Asana. Our office has started using the calendar and subtasks feature as well.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Schedule a Asana workshop with your team and really take the time to learn how to use Asana properly. Make sure everyone feels confident when using the program. Switch on the "Show occasional celebrations upon task completion" in your settings. You won't be disappointed.
A lot of great features even with the free version
What do you like best about the product?
Asana does a great job of keeping me on task. I like getting the reminders each day for the separate work spaces so I can quickly see what I need to accomplish that day. It's also easy to create new projects, separate tasks into sections and assign them to staff.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be great if there was a view that incorporated all work spaces. It is difficult to schedule tasks when you can't see everything at once. I have to keep my calendar open when scheduling to make sure I am not overlapping tasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving our task and project management with Asana. The biggest benefit is staying on task, not missing deadlines and managing projects that may be falling behind.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have multiple projects with multiple work spaces you may want to consider alternatives to Asana.
Asana review
What do you like best about the product?
Asana makes it very easy for me while I am working to be able to keep track of all of the customers that need to be called back.. it allows me to seperate my personal calls from work calla.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you are not careful when you set your dates you will put the item on the calendar years in the future. It could cause you to miss a date that work needs to be done if your not careful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to make sure that all of the customers that we promised to get called back receive that call that they are expecting. This makes us more reliable and trustworthy.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This software is a must to schedule your work needs.
Amazing for task management
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite Asana feature is when it automatically creates a task when I send it to special email. Many other apps do this, but Asana creates tasks from emails just as I expect it. I’ve tried many of task and project management tools. Asana is so successful for one simple reason – its dashboard looks like an inbox. Most people send and get their task by email and get used to inbox design and structure.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana can lead to inbox-overload. By default, you are subscribed to updates on any task that you create or follow. Updates include someone marking a task complete, leaving a comment on a task, or adding a file to a task. This means that if your coworker adds a file, makes a comment, then assigns the task back to you, then marks the task complete, you're looking at 4 emails in 10 seconds.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps to control every task of my team. With ready integrations (namely Slack and Google Docs integrations) Asana makes communication and cooperation between my team members more effective. Asana has also improved performance time and quality of completed tasks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
my team managed to use free version for almost two years. We upgraded to paid version only when our team grew and we had to add more people to our workspace. Check for Asana user cases posted in their blogs. There are some really good tips there which will ease your work with Asana. Also Asana promotes agile project management and you can create a kanban board for your project if necessary.
