Excellent Reporting and Gantt View for Project Management
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it can produce reports based on the tasks. Also the Gantt view is nice to have for individual huge project
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't use form much. I think that porfolio function should be only for the advanced package. It is just a view and to organize all the projects. All other functions of the porfolio can be made only for advance package.
And I think the billing system is complicated. Duplicate invoices are generated that users won't be able to know.

Essential Workflow Software: Highly Recommended
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is one of those software applications I had never used before my current job, but now it's hard to imagine working without it! Not only is it easy to use, but I also found it easy to integrate into my day-to-day work. In past jobs, I used to have a daily or weekly to-do list, but now I just check my Asana for tasks for that week. I use it every workday, and it's instrumental, especially with the kind of work that my company does, with lots of moving parts. Having the status of clients' projects and other information (like my colleague's comments on tasks) right at your fingertips has been a game-changer for sure.
What do you dislike about the product?
There aren't many downsides to Asana for me, aside from a slight learning curve with the software. Some features aren't as intuitive, like adding a task to the specific project heading or subheading, which can be confusing to do at first. A minor dislike I have for Asana is that a comment's timestamp shows only the number of days since the person commented, not the date itself. Having a timestamp of the date and time that they commented would make things easier and faster.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana solves the problems of not only time management, but also workflow and project management, along with project collaboration. Asana helps my role go smoothly due to solving these issues, by breaking up larger projects into manageable sizes and encouraging collaboration with coworkers. Additionally, with the ability to leave Asana comments, my coworkers know where I am with a certain task or project, and it helps with the flow of information.
Seamless Collaboration for Cross-Functional Teams
What do you like best about the product?
I really like that Asana allows cross-functional teams to be in a single place. Teams from sales, creative, and operations can all use the same source of truth and collaborate within this single tool, which is great. Asana also solves the problem of having a single place that serves as the source of truth for project and deliverables status. It helps us assign due dates, manage dependencies, and maintain visibility, keeping us on track to drive key outcomes. Instead of relying on fragmented updates or communication, Asana ensures alignment across all of our teams so we can complete projects efficiently.
What do you dislike about the product?
At times, the features (notifications, boards, comments) can get overwhelming, but this is more of a user issue than anything. Any way to simplify would be great. For example, smart filter to focus only on high priority updates, or cleaner way to organize and collapse comment threads.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Asana to track client projects and deliverables, serving as a single source of truth for project status. It helps assign due dates, manage dependencies, and maintain visibility, ensuring alignment across sales, creative, and operations teams for completing projects.
Central hub has unified cross‑department tasks and provides clear ownership and communication
What is our primary use case?
Asana is used to manage all tasks, including purchase requests, facilities requests, legal matters, and accounting. Everything is funneled through Asana so that all tasks can be tracked.
A recent example involved working on a security purchase request for 2026, which required coordination with purchasing, accounting, and legal. Collaboration occurred with all three groups on a $500,000 purchase request, and it was funneled through Asana so all groups could see their status. This allowed for efficient communication about progress and resolution of questions.
Asana is used for everything and serves as the main hub for any tasks, including projects with engineering, making it essential for all groups to communicate and see each other's progress.
What is most valuable?
The best features Asana offers, once you become familiar with the system, include clarity in view and tracking of questions. For instance, if information is requested from legal and they respond, a record is maintained to track all comments and keep everyone updated.
Having that clear view and record of communication helps the team day to day by allowing management and staff to see current statuses and responsibilities. It clarifies whose responsibility it is and identifies any hold-ups with legal or engineering tasks, which keeps the organization organized.
Asana has positively impacted the organization by providing clarity for everyone, allowing visibility into who is working on what, from the VP of Operations down to maintenance, ensuring necessary parts are available. It functions as a clearinghouse for all information.
Collaboration has greatly improved with Asana. There is no longer a need to chase down accounting or engineering for project updates because information can be checked through comments. File attachment and messaging capabilities between different groups within Asana are helpful. Email notifications are received for updates relevant to tasks, combining Asana alerts with email for easy visibility.
The interface and notifications in Asana are appreciated because it integrates with email. Updates can be received even when not logged in, which keeps you informed.
Initially, it takes some time to understand the various details, but after extensive use, it feels second nature. Overall, satisfaction with Asana is high.
What needs improvement?
A rating of eight is given because a downside exists in that everyone has access and notifications are often received for projects that are not involved in, leading to quite a few emails daily, sometimes around sixty to eighty.
For how long have I used the solution?
Asana has been used for four years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Asana's scalability is impressive, as the organization has grown from one facility in California to another in Washington State, increasing the workforce from one hundred to about four hundred fifty to five hundred people without any scalability issues throughout a four hundred million dollar construction project.
How are customer service and support?
No complaints have been heard about customer support for Asana. Work occurs closely with the IT group, and they have not reported any issues regarding support from Asana.
What was our ROI?
A return on investment has been seen with Asana primarily in time savings due to its instantaneous communication, acting as a single point for project discussions. There is no need to juggle multiple conversations across different platforms, and the search engine works effectively, allowing for pulling up historical data efficiently, which ensures all pertinent information is available.
What other advice do I have?
Advice to others looking into using Asana is that it will only work as well as your commitment to it. If you expect it to operate in the background without investing time, it will not surpass other project management tools. However, with one hundred percent commitment, satisfaction with Asana is very high. A rating of eight out of ten is given for this product.
