Asana - the most versatile Project Management Tool available!

  • June 24, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- price / value for money comparing to other similar project management tools/software.
- intuitive interface / not a big learning curve. Even inexperienced team-members can start using Asana straight away and collaborate with no issues, thus minimizing communication friction among the team and increase productiveness.
- versatility. Asana does not constrict you in a certain way to use the tool. You have the ability to adopt any framework you want like Agile, Scrum, Kanban without restriction - while at the same time offering pre-set templates to kickstart your projects with ease without locking you in a rigid approach/way of project management.
What do you dislike about the product?
- Portfolio option available only to Business-tier members. In general the sell to the Business plan is quite hard as there are workarounds that can be implemented to achieve the same goals in the Premium tier.
- There is no ability to not include certain members to the Business-tier. This is a bit odd as only managers would need to have the features available in this tier and not the whole team. It would be great if there could be a distinction so when in Business plan only certain members could have access to the most advanced features. Having access to the Portfolio feature for example does not make sense for a team member that does not need this zoomed-out, birds eye view on their daily workflow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Project Management for Digital Media Projects - from website creation boards / to-do lists to Bugs boards to Promo boards in order to manage internal workflows so that all team-members are aware what are their tasks, what everyone is doing and what is the status of each project - without bombarding each other via emails or IMs, everyone is on the same page about different projects in the easiest way possible, minimizing communication friction and saving time with a piece of mind.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
My advice to those evaluating Asana is that is the best tool if you want to manage an array of different Digital Media projects, as it is not rigid but quite flexible in letting you apply the PM framework you want or hybrid approaches where and when needed. You can manage Site creation workflows, Product creation workflows, Promo-Offer workflows while also have the dev-team following up with Bugs and Improvements in a more defined Agile / sprint based way.
The implementation with the team is quite easy as the intuitive interface permits for small learning curve even for team members that didn't have previous expose to the concept or project management or other project management tools and is a great introductory tool for them as also stands really good for professionals with more advanced granular needs for control with the ability to add custom fields and amazing Filtering/Reporting options.
With a great documentation, pre-selected templates for a variety of projects and also a very useful community forum, Asana is a tool that when implemented on the team's daily workflow will minimize workflow bottlenecks, increase productivity, save time and also help the team achieve the goals needed with a more focused communication that makes all the difference needed.
Highly recommended!

Gotta do the work to do the work

  • June 24, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana can be whatever you need it to be. Once you set up protocols for your team, you can easily track projects, processes, anything! We even made a project for everyone's coffee orders. Very customizable and searchable. The support is great too!
What do you dislike about the product?
Your whole team needs to commit to protocols and to using Asana in general. Because it's so customizable you need to all be on the same page and use it the same for it to be effective.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The number one problem we've solved is projects getting dropped or lost in email inboxes. We've also created an intake system so all projects start in Asana. This has been SO HELPFUL! Doing the work to do the work is lot more streamlined.

Coordination of projects within a working group.

  • June 24, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana's interface is convenient to perform project coordination within a working group. This is a better overview and analysis of the needs of the various projects I'm involved in and other professional teams. You can now invite members. In particular, the application allows me to map the assigned tasks and deadlines to my project. Any of them can be mapped and I will add comments, discussions and contract information. You can see an analysis of the performance, tasks and sub-tasks of each project, their efficiency and I enjoy it as it allows me to monitor the quality of service.
What do you dislike about the product?
I didn't have any problems and I think it's a great collaboration tool that fits my needs and perspective!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Visualize and track the progress and development of tasks during individual and other teams' work. This includes a schedule for each of the planned projects to reach the overall goal. The system is designed to execute each project as requirements and circumstances change.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Managing and monitoring projects and dividing them into little and simple activities benefits the team. We recommend it as a leadership tool that allows managers to communicate with each other.

Asana, Easy to Use and a Good Agile Software

  • June 23, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to signup and not a lot of onboarding time. They also provided an entire free certification course that I found useful. The free version covered most of my needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would prefer more ways to motivate those unfamiliar with the app to participate. In some ways its not as robust as JIRA, but then again JIRA isn't for everyone. Another thing I would prevent is the amount of emails triggered.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This has been a great software to keep projects organized. Whenever I'm working with clients or team members, its a great way to provide clarity and assign tasks.

Keeping my projects track

  • June 22, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how user friendly Asana is. You can plan activities, pieces, specific tasks, even sub-sub-tasks, quickly. You may delegate specific tasks, add deadlines, render the assignment contingent on certain activities being carried out anyway, and far more. The movements to complete a mission, too, are really rewarding. We enjoy how simple it is to upload requests too. One parent could really fill out forms, and then Asana will automatically create an assignment as well as assign that to the right person.
What do you dislike about the product?
I've seen both systems, but really I don't see much that annoys us and, this is a completed program that provides the necessary business or project growth assistance. There are several other advantages that this program offers users. Thereby, I wouldn't want anything there.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It enables me to want a clear and coherent mind in the execution of large and complicated ventures. I will believe what I'll do here so it's now the best thing to get our project started. Since I have appreciated it much, I will be implementing Asana throughout our business so that everybody can keep pace with current installations and usual tasks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Download the file with the work, and enjoy as well. This is much easier than adopting modern e-mail correspondence.

What do you like best about the product?
Its user interface is nice created to work projects in work teams in a coordinated way.
It improves the activities of review and analysis of the requirements of different projects in which I participate, having the option to invite team members who participate in the other specialties of: Digital Marketing, SEO, Website Development, SEM, PPC, Marketing, Branding, Website Design and Graphic Design.
Particularly the application offers me the facility to have each of my projects on roadmaps, with assigned tasks, completion dates, I can add information from comments, discussions and agreements.
I like it because I can visualize doing reviews and monitor the tasks and sub-tasks of each project, this is efficiency and quality for the delivery of services.
It is very favorable and beneficial the comments, discussions, that may appear in the process of developing an activity, it is really verified what happens in the workflows.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have really had no problems, it is a wonderful collaborative work tool that meets the requirements and my job prospects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana is experience and testimony of the following benefits in my work area, work teams, the organization and clients I mention some:
I have been able to visualize and have an overview of the progress and development of tasks that correspond to my personal work and those of the rest of the work teams.
It provides the deadlines for each planned project whose purpose is to achieve the proposed objectives and direct each one of them considering the requirements and changes in the environment.
It is satisfaction and progress to create work reports, make comparisons, measure results in each specialization or area of the organization.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend this software for being a leader in the management, monitoring, and division of projects into smaller and simpler activities which promotes communication between team leaders, doing tasks with enthusiasm, confidence, clarity and efficiency.

Seamless Integrations with solutions for every project

  • June 17, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Clean UI with functional workflows straight out the box. Unlike other software giants such as JIRA which feels like you need a month of setup before you even create a ticket. Asana is easily adopted with new members of the team but also is easy to configure based on various factors, team, resources, project type etc.

Timeline view is a great tool to use at stand-ups so the team can really get to grips about what is due - also deadlines approaching. So they are aware of the time constraints with or against us.

Integrations have been seamless and a great asset to the company so far - Everhour is our time keeping software and it has integrated onto Asana meaning it a one stop for the team to track progress as well as time keep next to specific tasks. It also give me a great overview tab with quick reporting about our current progress next to our overall budget.

The slack integration means people are aware of ongoings with the project - allowing easy collaboration with quick IM's when they see a team member blocked or starting something new. It gives me insight but also the team on a whole.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only pain point i have had is the import - this has crashed a couple of time even with a 68 row csv. When it restarted - I ended up with duplicates.

I wish you could also upload files straight into Asana - without having to create a specific conversation on the file. This would be great for reference documents throughout the project.

The Form feature is also great - but it would be great to have multiple at the same time. So one could be for Clients to raise UAT tickets through the link - but also we could have a internal form running at the same time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project Flows - from Definition to QA to Launch procedures - they are all housed in Asana.

Not just tasks for the Design and Development team but also managements and in some cases clients. Requiring them to action and approve tasks and features allowing a constant development cycle.

As a previous JIRA agency - adapting Asana to each project has been easy and quick. Where JIRA would have required us to make custom flows, form and rules. Asana has that real Drag and Drop feel and configurability. Don't need that field then untick from this project.

Also the ease of adoption from the team has been great - its integrated with our timekeeping software which looks great on the dashboard with quick analytics and in App time recording, meaning the team do not have to flick across various platforms and its managed all in one place.
