A robust solution for financial project management.

  • June 20, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like Asana's visibility and customization capabilities. In the financial services industry, projects are often complex, with multiple teams (development, compliance, legal) and strict deadlines. The Board View allows me to see the status of each task at a glance, while the List and Timeline views are perfect for planning and tracking dependencies between technical and regulatory tasks. The ability to create custom fields to tag tasks (e.g., 'Compliance Requirement,' 'Legal Review') is crucial to our workflow, allowing us to efficiently filter and prioritize.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the interface is clean, I think cross-project dependency management could be more robust. For large, cross-functional projects, such as a system integration, tracking task interdependencies between different projects can sometimes become a bit cumbersome. While the feature exists, the interface sometimes feels less intuitive compared to managing dependencies within a single project. I wish there were a simpler, more visual way to see the full picture of interconnected projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps us solve two key problems in our field: a lack of transparency in workflows and fragmented communication. Previously, projects were managed through emails and spreadsheets, leading to duplication of effort, missed deadlines, and almost zero visibility.
This directly benefits me in several ways:
Centralized communication: All information, from technical requirements to QA team feedback, is in one place. This reduces the need for unnecessary meetings and ensures everyone is aligned.
Traceability and auditability: In the financial sector, the ability to track every decision and change is vital. Asana creates a record of every action, making audits and regulatory compliance easier for us.
Visibility into progress: I can see the development teams' progress, bottlenecks, and dependencies in real time, allowing me to proactively intervene and adjust resources to meet our goals.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
1. I recommend Asana because it makes it easy to divide and organize project activities into categories, process phases, and priorities.
2. Track due dates, and completion of work, and keep teammates up to date.
3. You can visualize the development of your projects and keep track of updates with graphs filtered by particular factors.

Asana is still easy to use

  • June 18, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Adding AI into Asana was an improvement in my personal opinion, I know people are against something they don't understand but I find it a great addition and easier to use than before. The stuff that took me quite some time before has now been replaced by a few clicks of a mouse. I love that Asana still offers a free trial and now with much more possibilities like campaign management and rules for status updates to name a couple. Having guest profiles enabled is a big bonus.
What do you dislike about the product?
In regards to improvements, there is a bit of a learning curve with Asana as there was before but the design is optimised and quite intuitive so even a 60 year old could and did learn to use is and uses it like a millennial. If you have any kind of computer background or you can use any microsoft office product, you're set to work with Asana.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana makes it easy to track candidates. The built-in features allow for easy communication and tagging of outside links or colleagues in the software cloud itself. Really useful functions.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Depending on the company niche, Asana may make or break your company.

Get a 360 degree view of your project and people

  • June 17, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana's intelligent interface helps me break down projects based on timeline and people so I can quickly identify the bottlenecks in my work process to solve the problem and get my project on track faster. Its automation feature is also a life saver. I can avoid micromanaging things, and my team also has a clearer view of where the project is going.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana tried to put everything accessible from the mobile app. Which makes it a bit clumsy. I think they should spend more time to come with an option to let us customize what we want to see in the mobile app
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used to use excel to manage my projects. It offers collaboration from team members but soon becomes unmanageable as our client number grows. Asana made all these go away by streamlining our workflow. Email notifications get in the way but nothing proper filtering can't fix.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you work for an organization where you need to monitor new projects constantly, then Asana could be a great choice. But for simpler workflows, Asana might feel a bit costly. Asana's billing doesn't offer much freedom when customizing your team size either.

Asana most helpful for project management

  • June 16, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The calendar visibility and functionality are excellent. It shows you deadlines and keeps you on track to complete what you set out to do. It allows you to view the tasks in multiple ways, which is excellent. The reminders and home views help with task management.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be nice to have the option to alter the order of tasks. It is difficult to view the task description without clicking a "load more" button. Apart from those, I am pretty satisfied with Asana.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Delegating tasks to coworkers via Asana eliminates the communication barriers typically associated with this. Asana has helped us to notice a greater communication rate. It is accessible to all who have access to it. This creates a sense that there is an emergency and that you are responsible for completing the items.
