Intuitive UI with Great Collaboration, Needs Improved Customization

  • April 23, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that Asana has a very user-friendly UI. The collaboration tools are great, including app mentioning on specific tasks and messages. The ability to create task dependencies is really helpful, outlining the structure of work and tasks within a project. Portfolios allow me to organize all my work in one place and complete dashboard reporting efficiently. The initial setup of Asana was very easy, with a minimal training curve.
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel that the workflow builder is not user friendly, and I struggle with the customization of the platform. Biggest challenge we have is permissioning. You know, making sure that our clients can't export our task list and share them with other organizations. I believe that that is a feature of our license, but it should be a feature across all different license offerings with Asana. Especially for smaller organizations, we cannot always afford the enterprise level subscription. So having more features in the basic subscription would be helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps me organize tasks and keeps our team aligned. I value its collaboration tools, task dependencies for project structuring, and portfolios for organizing work and reporting.

Great for Organization, but Steep Learning Curve

  • April 23, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate Asana for keeping everyone organized, as it allows me to see who's a collaborator and check comments easily. My favorite thing about Asana is the animations that appear after you complete a task, which I find delightful.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think sometimes that some of the subtasks can become a little bit confusing if there are a lot of subtasks created. Sometimes it's a little difficult to follow. There's these sections, and sometimes there's so many different sections, and subtasks and different layers. And, quarterly tasks and annual tasks can be a little bit overwhelming. A lot of us as users had difficulty getting used to Asana. The learning curve can be steep for small companies.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana reminds me of tasks I need to complete and tracks when I need to finish them. It also alerts me if someone assigns a task to me, helping me stay organized and plan my day.

I appreciate how Asana allows multitasking and helps me keep track of different clients and where I am within each task. It's easy to set up despite having a lot of clients, which is convenient.

I can’t think of anything in particular that I dislike. It’s one of the better task platforms I’ve used for a company of this size.

Keeps Our Marketing Projects Organized and Structured

  • April 22, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It helps organize our marketing team’s projects and keeps everything more structured.
What do you dislike about the product?
It isn’t very technical overall, which is fine, but I do wish there were a better way to sort things. The sorting options feel limited, and it makes it harder to find what I’m looking for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a board for the marketing team to work on weekly projects together

Collaborative and Efficient Yet Needs Better Task-Context Visibility

  • April 22, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that Asana is collaborative and that you can use it to see the same things that your other team members see. I really like how you're able to break down projects and then create duplicates for the following year if you're completing a similar project, rather than having to start from scratch. I also like that you can message other team members on a specific task if you have questions about it. The initial setup was very simple; everything's pretty straightforward and well organized.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don’t like that if you aren’t subscribed to a project, but you are tagged to a task that you can’t see what the project is because that’s very confusing to know why you’re doing the specific task if you don’t have context. I think that if you’re assigned a task, you should automatically be able to see what the project is.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Asana to ensure no tasks are overlooked, set up and manage project steps, and automate recurring tasks monthly. It helps us collaborate effectively, and I appreciate its project duplication feature for similar future projects.
