    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
The professional support during onboarding and the quality of the documentation are top-notch. Beyond that, the distributed architecture's transparency is a major win. Our applications connect as if to a single database, and OceanBase handles the underlying distribution seamlessly, which has eliminated our need for complex, application-level sharding logic.
What do you dislike about the product?
Our experience has been positive overall. The product balances advanced features with usability well, and we don't have any specific suggestions for improvement at this stage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were facing scalability limits and a high total cost of ownership with our previous commercial database. OceanBase solved this by offering a scalable, cost-effective alternative with excellent support, ensuring a low-risk migration and sustainable long-term costs.

Impressively Thorough Oracle Compatibility with Proactive, Partner-Like Support

    Reviewed on Jun 12, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
The Oracle compatibility is impressively thorough—not only at the syntax level, but also in how execution plans and PL/SQL behavior closely match what we expected—which saved us months of re-coding work. The distributed architecture is completely transparent to our applications, so we didn’t have to rewrite any sharding logic. I also really appreciated the proactive technical support team: they stayed deeply involved throughout our POC phase and offered architectural guidance that genuinely felt like a true partnership.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, nothing has disappointed us so far. The product has been stable in production for the past eight months, and its feature set has gone beyond what we initially needed. Overall, we’re very satisfied with where things stand today.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
OceanBase enabled us to migrate critical financial workloads without having to rewrite our core business logic. It helped us eliminate vendor lock-in while still meeting the performance standards our auditors require. The resulting cost savings also let us reinvest in other infrastructure upgrades.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were struggling with the latency and complexity of ETL processes between our transactional and analytical systems. OceanBase’s HTAP capabilities addressed this by enabling real-time insights, which has sped up our decision-making cycle and made our overall data architecture much simpler.

Efficient Multi-Tenant HTAP Platform with an Intuitive OCP Console

    Reviewed on Jun 12, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
The multi-tenant architecture is incredibly efficient, we're running 10+ tanents for different microservices on a single cluster with true resource isolation. The HTAP capability is also a game-changer; we're running real-time analytics on transactional data without ETL delays. Plus, the OCP management console is intuitive, making daily ops surprisingly straightforward for a distributed system.
What do you dislike about the product?
We haven't encountered any operational issues since going live. The migration was smoother than our initial estimates, and both our Dev and Ops teams adapted to the platform faster than expected.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We consolidated our fragmented database infrastructure that was sprawled across dozens of underutilized MySQL and Oracle instances. This consolidation reduced our operational overhead by roughly 40%, simplified our backup strategies, and cut our total infrastructure costs significantly while improving query performance.

We are very happy with the product. It has required very little maintenance and has proven to be highly stable in our production environment for over a year.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
