Efficient SEC Reporting with Some Support Challenges
What do you like best about the product?
I find Workiva really helpful for my SEC reporting tasks like 10-Q, 10-K, and 8-K filings because it makes it easy to link numbers and update all changes at once. The test filing feature is great for identifying XBRL issues more easily. Their support managers are very helpful whenever I have questions. I like the clean and clear format of Workiva; it really helps in preparing and reviewing to ensure data is accurate and complete. There's also an abundance of resources which is useful whenever I need to do research.
What do you dislike about the product?
We got assigned to an unresponsive account manager. Used to have a good one. They really need to respond to our questions and not just copy paste all available guidances.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workiva makes it easy to link numbers and update all changes at once, simplifies identifying XBRL issues, and provides helpful support managers. Its clean format ensures data accuracy, and the abundant resources help with research.
All Audit Information in One Convenient Platform
What do you like best about the product?
All the audit information is in one platform

A lot of the functionalities are not user friendly
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All the SOX and Audit information is in one place for Internal Auditors, External Auditors and the management. Its a one stop solution
Intuitive Collaboration, Slight Support Challenges
What do you like best about the product?
I like Workiva because it's easy to use and intuitive. It's very similar to Word and Excel, which makes it familiar and easy to navigate. I also appreciate the ability for multiple people to be in the document at the same time, which is really helpful for collaboration. This real-time feature eliminates the need to share documents through emails, avoiding version issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
We used to be able to call directly to our Workiva person, and now I feel like we have to go through the chat bot or call a central number.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workiva allows us to collaborate in real time, letting multiple people be in the document simultaneously, which helps with tracking and word processing. It also enables document sharing with teammates and auditors, avoiding email and version issues.

Able to synchronise word and excel so reduce duplicate work

What do you like best about the product?
Workiva is a very inclusive workplace that makes collaboration easy and keeps the workflow seamless.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven’t noticed many downsides in my experience using this platform so far.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has made testing controls so much easier. It’s a very intuitive platform that simplifies document storage and improves collaboration among teams.
Solid SEC Filing Linking, but ERP Integration Costs Add Up
What do you like best about the product?
Linking helps ensure internal consistency. It’s a solid solution for SEC filings.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost is a concern for me, especially the expense required to interface with our ERP.

Internal consistency between supporting documents and filings.
Creates a Single Source of Truth and Eliminates Duplicate Work
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability create single sources of truth to avoid duplication of effort.
What do you dislike about the product?
with the SOX module, certain areas aren't as configurable as I would like.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ther are constantly evolving with trends.
Workiva’s Easy Navigation and Major Time Savings for Filings
What do you like best about the product?
Workiva is a very easy to navigate system. It is easy to copy prior filing documents forward and make edits. It has been a huge time saver to our team! We have not connected to any other platforms, but have used some of the excel sync functionality.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be great if we could link directly from an Excel workbook rather than the single source file. It would also be nice if there was an easier roll forward process between 10-Q and 10-K filings. Right now, all updates made into the 10-Q have to be copied into the 10-K which is not ideal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a public company we need to make sure we can complete our filings timely. Workiva gives us the tools to be able to do this. The Workiva support is top notch, especially the xbrl team. We love the flexibility of being able to collaborate with our legal, audit and internal management team collectively in the files.
Streamlines Financial Reporting
What do you like best about the product?
I use the Workiva financial reporting tool to prepare my company's quarterly financial statements and other deliverables. Workiva streamlines the financial statement assembly process by allowing me to push out updates to multiple documents simultaneously. The platform's linking and formulas make transforming spreadsheet financial data into formal financial statements much easier. It's intuitive for someone familiar with Microsoft Suite; the formulas in their spreadsheet feature work just like Excel. Their version of word documents is similar too, allowing for editing and tracking changes, plus leaving comments like in Word. I particularly like how different forms of deliverables, such as PDF-style vertical documents and slide presentations, can be linked to the same source of truth or worksheet with financial info.
What do you dislike about the product?
This is a small preference item but one thing on my mind is that I would like to see more flexibility with a feature called range linking. It is helpful and a good feature overall, but it can lead to cluttered visual presentation within deliverables using range linking. When you range link, a table in a financial statement document linked back to a spreadsheet in your file has a green border around the perimeter of the table to show the viewer that it is a range link. I am happy with the green perimeter indicator. But then it also puts a green triangle in the corner of every single cell in the destination table, creating visual clutter in the file that I don't think can be turned off as far as I know. Of course, when you print the document none of it appears, but during the preparing and review stage in Workiva, the range linking displays an excessive number of colored indicators.

I find Workiva streamlines the financial statement assembly process and allows updates across multiple documents simultaneously, linking and transforming data efficiently. The platform's ease of use with Microsoft-like tools and ability to link deliverables to a single data source boosts productivity.
User-Friendly Platform That Streamlines Sustainability Reporting
What do you like best about the product?
It is fairly user friendly. I like how organized you can be using the platform specifically when it comes to sustainability reporting and data. It has helped us clean up our processes and data quality.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it runs slowly. Also, the connections features sometimes are slow.
