Robust System with Room for Improved Usability and Support Tools
What do you like best about the product?
I feel like the system is very robust from a financial reporting perspective. The help desk is also excellent. I've used the Capital Markets group for an S-3 and that was a great experience as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel like some things are not very intuitive. It is difficult to work in Proxy Statement documents with graphics and pictures and 8-K set up could be easier. In the online tools for help it is difficult to find what you are looking for. I've worked in other programs that were easier to use.

Workiva is very user friendly especially if you have multiple modules with them.

Depending on your company adequate customization need to be done as out of box solution might not fit well with your processes.

Effortless to Use and Great for Standardization
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, linking of files leads to standardization and reduced risk.
What do you dislike about the product?
Expensive tool, but worth it. Previously worked in another tool that required many more hours of manual updating.

Workiva has streamlined our entire financial reporting and disclosure process by centralizing documents, data, and collaboration in one platform.
User-Friendly, Innovative, and Supportive—But Pricey
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use. Fantastic customer service. Constant innovation.
What do you dislike about the product?
Expensive. Other than that, nothing to note.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SEC Reporting and carbon reporting. Makes the process as streamlined as possible. Removes the administrative headache.
Intuitive ESG Carbon Module, But Room to Further Build Out Functionality
What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate the ease of use in Workiva’s Carbon module. The platform is intuitive, making it straightforward to navigate and get work done efficiently. Even without direct API integrations, the bulk upload feature is a huge time-saver—it lets me quickly import large volumes of data with minimal hassle. I also like that after uploading, I can see the latest data in real time with just a short refresh, and having a snapshot view makes it easy to review and track progress. Overall, these features help streamline ESG data management and reporting. At this time, I cannot yet speak to the full capabilities of Workiva’s ESG reporting, as that functionality is still under implementation.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the Workiva Carbon platform offers many strengths, there are still a number of areas for improvement. For example, reporting capabilities remain somewhat limited, as it is not currently possible to generate reports based on user-defined groups. There’s also a lack of audit reporting for scope 3 data, which makes comprehensive ESG oversight more challenging. Additionally, system reliability can be an issue—there have been instances of reporting downtime and times when the system reverts to previous versions of functionality, which disrupts workflow. Building out further features such as FERA integration, T&E CPI conversion, and direct linkage of location square footage to CBECS for building data feeds would also help address current gaps and significantly enhance the module’s overall effectiveness.
At this time, I cannot yet speak to the full capabilities of Workiva’s ESG reporting, as that functionality is still under implementation. However, it is worth noting that, compared to the carbon module, the ESG reporting process has been much slower due to its less intuitive design. The support page offers limited guidance for navigating this module, which has led to a significant reliance on our implementation partner and with the Workiva support module, there is not the ability to lean on Workiva customer support since we are still in the implementation phrase.

Great for Collaboration, But Lacks Excel and Word's Power
What do you like best about the product?
Multiple users can work within the doc at the same time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not as good as actually working in excel or word.

Easy way to make SEC filings within the Edgar system. Nice way to standardize reoccurring documents.
Streamlined Filing with Workiva, Slightly Costly
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate Workiva for its streamlined setup process, which was easy to navigate, making the initial experience smooth and hassle-free. The efficiency in filing SEC documents is another highlight for me; it saves significant time and reduces the complexity of coordination with my teammates. Furthermore, the document format provided by Workiva is very user-friendly, contributing greatly to the smoothness of the entire filing process. I find the features related to revising documents particularly useful because they simplify the task and enhance workflow efficiency. The ease of use of the platform overall, along with its cost-effectiveness, stands out as a key factor in why I would consider purchasing Workiva again. These attributes collectively make Workiva a crucial tool in my daily professional tasks, allowing for substantial time savings and improved collaboration.

I find the yearly subscription cost to be high. I would prefer it if the cost were lower.

Excellent for Financial Reporting, But Missing Wrap Text Feature
What do you like best about the product?
Workiva is an excellent platform for handling various aspects of financial reporting. One feature I particularly appreciate is the linking tool, which makes it easy to connect workbook figures directly to documents. This functionality is especially helpful when preparing financial statements. I also find the review tools useful, such as the ability to set milestones and generate blacklines for comparison purposes.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really wish Workiva offered a wrap text feature like the one in Excel.

Managing version control and progressing work forward are essential aspects of my workflow.
User-Friendly, Reliable, and Outstanding Customer Service
What do you like best about the product?
User friendly appearance. Source of truth ability. Customer service.
What do you dislike about the product?
None. I have not encountered anything. My previous experience with AuditBoard and teammate shows that Workiva is best in class.

Sox implementation. Limited control and policy documentation previously existed with lack of experienced control owners. Facilitating external audits within the tool.
