Very Responsive Customer Support
What do you like best about the product?
The customer support team is very responsive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Many of the background technical features are very confusing to learn.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workiva helps us coordinate and file our SEC documents so they are consistent within the document and filing to filng.
Great Tracking Controls and Stakeholder Visibility, but can benefit from UI update
What do you like best about the product?
It is great for tracking controls and stakeholders of those controls.
What do you dislike about the product?
Workpaper upload and documentation seems pretty outdated. If it is updated, then better "how-to" sessions need to be done.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am not aware of any problems actively being solved by them. Database management still seems more complicated than it needs to be.
Great Cross-Discipline Integration, but the UI Feels Clunky
What do you like best about the product?
Integrated usage across disciplines (finance, legal, ESG etc)
What do you dislike about the product?
Somewhat clunky UI / user interface could be more like apple iOS
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solves problem of dozens of users working on documents simultaneously without version control issues and not having to recreate the wheel on importing numbers each time they change
Streamlines Financial Reporting with Track Changes, Needs Browser Compatibility
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Workiva has track change functions, which help the reviewer understand what changes were made after they reviewed sections. Flipping flags to lock sections down provides comfort to our director that no changes have been made since he reviewed those sections. It's very useful for moving away from tieout documentation and PDF.
What do you dislike about the product?

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workiva solves tieout problems for me so we do not have to do manual tie outs. It has track change functions that help reviewers see changes, flip flags to lock sections for security, and let us move away from PDF tie outs.
Workiva Listens and Delivers Continuous Improvements
What do you like best about the product?
I love that Workiva is consistently focused on improving and giving customers what they want. They ask for feedback, genuinely listen, and then apply what they hear to future product improvements and new features.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some features still aren’t quite as advanced as the products we used to use (like tie-down binders), but Workiva is actively working to improve them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
They’re currently working on AI tie-down capabilities, and that should greatly improve our processes.
Effortless Auditing with Workiva
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Workiva makes it easy to certify controls and that everything is all in one place. The initial setup was very easy, which was a big plus for me.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solves my reporting cadence and ability to live work on the same across various individuals.
Decent Tool with Approval Workflow Limitations
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate having a central place for my team to document discussions and testing as well as storing required evidence. It gives my team an easy way to track that they've completed all parts of the audit.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the approval process. The EWP we used to use would better track when people approved procedures or even attachments as being completed. If someone changed a procedure or workpaper post-approval, its status was returned to an un-prepared status which required people to sign off and approve again. Workiva doesn't enforce that, so it is easy to make it seem like there is appropriate preparation and approval when there isn't. The information is tracked by Workiva, so forensically it can be seen, but it isn't as obvious as I would prefer. We need a better way to update attachments, though to be fair this might be an issue with our company's configurations rather than Workiva. The initial setup was okay. It is customizable, which sounds good, but maybe isn't. We were looking for best practices and willing to change our processes. Workiva's team never offered these. They just customized it where they could to meet our existing processes. In some areas, this was fine, but they had some processes where the Workiva solution just wasn't good and it couldn’t improve.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workiva acts as a central repository for risk assessment data, audit plans, and workpapers, making it easier to track audit completion and document discussions and testing.
