Sarbanes Oxley Compliance and Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR)
What do you like best about the product?
I’ve managed Sarbanes-Oxley ("SOX") Compliance in some capacity for 15+ years, and I’ve seen many different ways businesses maintain, monitor, and report on their internal control environments. Workiva has met nearly all of our needs in SOX Compliance space. For the few areas where it hasn’t fully met our direct needs, the Workiva team has consistently been a strong partner in finding creative solutions.
The Process runs we can execute for 302/906 SOX certification requests (i.e., questionnaires submitted through the application to internal business stakeholders) are seamless and intuitive. They help us confirm the design and operating effectiveness of our control environment while significantly reducing the level of effort required from my team.

What do you dislike about the product?
Our biggest challenge is change reporting. We often need to report quarterly updates to the design of our internal controls. Reporting is available, but it isn’t in the “track changes” format we prefer. As a result, we have to prepare it manually, which can be time-consuming. That said, our Workiva partners have provided solutions that help expedite the process.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We’ve raised change reporting with Workiva as a solution that could benefit both us and other teams using the application. The integration of AI has already helped with the more detailed reporting and the queries we run against specific data we maintain in WDesk. I fully expect AI to be used more broadly within the application, which should further strengthen our SOX program and overall reporting.

Not as intuitive as could be, the help function does not send you to correct pages

What do you like best about the product?
I use Workiva daily to prepare GAAP financial statements, and it helps me get my work done more efficiently by saving me a lot of time. I like the constantly new features that the Workiva team introduces, which aim to make our lives easier in financial reporting. I also appreciate its connectivity, efficiency, and time-saving capabilities, along with its ability to meet industry standards. The initial setup was very easy as well.

Occasionally it glitches but it is overall so worth it

Exceptional Data Management with User-Friendly UI
What do you like best about the product?
I use Workiva for ESG and other sustainability data management in our company. I really like the modern UI, it's easily understandable, and the flexibility Workiva offers to tweak the interface or the metrics according to user convenience. The data compilation and the fact that it works as a great data repository are big plus points too. The software facilitates communication with other stakeholders quite well. What stands out to me is the amazing customer service; the experts are friendly and answer all the questions when needed, which enhances the overall experience of working with the software. Additionally, the initial setup of Workiva was very easy.

I use Workiva for data compilation, creating a great data repository, and improving communication with stakeholders. It offers convenience and a centralized data repository, making the shift from manual Excel entries worthwhile.

It is not the easiest or most intuitive platform to use without guidance.

Streamlines Financial Filings with Consistency
What do you like best about the product?
I use Workiva for filing our consolidated financial statements, and it makes the process seamless with the ability to link the same data points across various sections of our 10Q/Ks. I appreciate the consistency it brings throughout our filings. My favorite part is the ability to link data and create a single source of truth. The setup was also easy with the help of a consultant and Workiva's customer support.
What do you dislike about the product?
The formatting could be enhanced to align more with Word. Creating tables can be a hassle to get the alignment right within the margins given that everything is wrap text.

I use Workiva for filing consolidated financial statements. It streamlines the process with seamless data linking, ensuring consistency across 10Q/Ks and creating a single source of truth.
Excellent Recovery of Deleted Data.
What do you like best about the product?
The entire audit cycle can be created in Workiva.

In the requests once we raise we do have option to reopen the request but there is no option to attach any file in case we want to provide any reference to it.

The problem of extensive audit documentation and its retention is solved by Workiva.
Visually Pleasing and Fast, but Login Codes and Timeouts Disrupt Flow

visually pleasing, easy to work with. No lag on data load
What do you dislike about the product?
Before they changed it, waiting for a code every time I needed to log in. I do not like how quickly the program times out either. If the window is up, I would prefer to stay logged in

Easy Report and Spreadsheet Organization
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to organize reports and spreadsheets.

Spreadsheet formatting can be clunky sometimes.
