Powerful Linking and Flexible Interface That Keeps Reports in Sync

  • March 18, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Workiva offers good features, but the one I like most is Linking. It’s great because I can change a spreadsheet and have it automatically update in the annual report. I also like that the interface is flexible, and I appreciate being able to view the revision history.
What do you dislike about the product?
Because it’s cloud-based, if the internet goes down it can bring work to a complete stop.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to trace the origin of each cell back to its original source, and the reports are consolidated so the final source can be updated and generated in seconds. Overall, the experience has been incredible and very positive.

Workiva Makes SOX Testing and PBC Requests Much Easier

  • March 16, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We have been utilizing Workiva as an audit tool for at least 2 years now for SOX testing purposes and simply having Workiva has made it well worth it. Also, I find that the Workstream feature is helpful when we need to get a large number of individuals involved to respond to PBC requests. It is much less of a hassle than sending multiple emails and hoping someone will read them.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the reporting features of Workiva could use some additional development. They are good but not great. I can tell that Workiva is still working to develop its reporting capabilities and sometimes I would just like to see a basic view without having to click through multiple pages. And finally, I think Workiva does a poor job with uploading files. Sometimes, the uploaded PDFs will not display properly. The issue did eventually get resolved but it is frustrating during an audit when things are not loading correctly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Prior to using Workiva, my team and I were conducting our audits utilizing spreadsheets and email chains and we struggled greatly with version control. Now, all aspects of the audit life cycle like planning, testing, identifying issues, etc are located in Workiva and external auditors are able to rely on the information contained within Workiva. And while Workiva may not solve every problem it has significantly improved upon our previous method.

End-to-End Audit Traceability That Keeps Every Link Intact

  • March 01, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The linkages among all these components of an audit are truly the best part of Workiva and you establish a linkage from a risk to a control to a process to a workpaper to a finding and then that chain remains intact throughout the audit cycle, so if you're asked to show how you arrived at some conclusion, you can simply provide the entire trail to support the conclusion without having to search through various folders.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is definitely a learning curve and the documentation does not provide enough insight into the less intuitive items such as user roles and permissions; these should not be complex and yet they are difficult to understand and implement, resulting in you often assigning the same individual to the same audit multiple times to ensure they receive the appropriate permissions. The text boxes in Workiva are frustrating to work in; pasting from Word will cause issues with the format of the text box content and the toolbar literally blocks part of the text you are editing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workiva is providing an end-to-end solution to put the entire audit life-cycle in one place (planning/risk assessment/fieldwork/reporting/follow-up) allowing multiple audit personnel to work simultaneously and not step on top of one another and maintain a complete audit trail. For organizations subject to SOX or other regulatory compliance audits, the audit trail created by Workiva greatly reduces the pain associated with the review process and external audits. That is the primary benefit and Workiva provides that benefit.

Amazing Real-Time Collaboration and Auto-Linking That Keeps Reports Consistent

  • February 23, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Workiva is amazing for real-time collaboration because it allows multiple people to work on the same document at once. On top of that, the linking feature means that if a reach metric is modified in a database, it’s automatically updated in the annual report. I really appreciated this, since it eliminated my fear of ending up with conflicting data across documents.
What do you dislike about the product?
Preparing the data structure is a difficult task. If it isn’t designed well from day one, it can lead to many errors later on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I solve many problems, especially those related to data inconsistencies and information silos. I eliminate the risk of presenting incorrect figures in accounting, and I give you greater peace of mind and compliance by removing the fear and anxiety around possible data conflicts.

Workiva: Dependable, Feature-Rich Reporting and Compliance in One Place

  • February 17, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I appreciate most about Workiva is that, once you get familiar with the layout, it’s genuinely easy to use and makes complex reporting feel far less intimidating. Rolling it out across my team was straightforward and caused minimal disruption, and it quickly became a natural part of our day-to-day workflow. I use it heavily—around 12 to 13 times a day—and it consistently gives me the stability I need for frequent reporting and collaboration.

The range of features, from financial reporting to ESG compliance, gives me confidence that our needs are covered in one place. Customer support has been excellent too, providing clear guidance whenever I’ve needed help, which adds to that overall sense of reliability. Integrations with other systems also feel seamless, so we don’t have to bounce between tools as much and can keep our data consistent. Overall, Workiva offers a dependable, feature-rich environment that makes compliance and collaboration much more efficient.
What do you dislike about the product?
Workiva is a powerful platform, but I sometimes find the learning curve steep—especially when I’m trying to get the most out of its more advanced features. The interface is functional, yet it can feel overwhelming at first, and it takes extra time before I’m truly comfortable navigating everything.

Integrations generally work well with major systems; however, connecting more niche tools or supporting custom workflows isn’t always straightforward. Because I use it 12 to 13 times a day, I occasionally notice performance slowdowns when I’m working with very large datasets.

Customer support is excellent, but the documentation could be more beginner-friendly so I don’t have to rely as heavily on direct assistance. The sheer number of features is impressive, though it can feel like overkill for smaller tasks, and it sometimes makes simple reporting more complex than it needs to be. Overall, Workiva delivers strong value, but at times it feels like more tool than I need for everyday use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workiva addresses the challenge of fragmented reporting by bringing financial, regulatory, and ESG data together in one secure platform. It cuts down on the constant back-and-forth of spreadsheets and emails and lets me collaborate with my team in real time. Because I use it 12 to 13 times a day, I really notice the consistency and accuracy it provides, which helps reduce the risk of errors in critical reports.

The platform also eases compliance concerns by embedding audit trails and strong security, which gives me confidence when working with sensitive disclosures. Its integration with other systems keeps data moving smoothly, so I’m not stuck with manual re-entry or unnecessary duplication. Customer support has helped me get past the learning curve as well, making complex processes easier to manage.

Overall, Workiva has transformed what used to be a stressful, error-prone reporting cycle into a more streamlined, reliable, and efficient experience.

Efficient Platform with Steep Learning Curve

  • February 16, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love Workiva for its real-time collaboration features, which allow multiple team members to work on the same report seamlessly, helping to avoid overwrites. The system also eliminates manual data entry errors by using an automated linking system. During the initial setup, Workiva provided great support, assigning a professional service team to assist with data setup and template creation, which, despite initially taking some time, was definitely worth it for the long-term efficiency.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve can be quite steep for new users because the platform has so many features. Also, the pricing is on the high side, so it might not be the best fit for smaller companies with very simple reporting needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Workiva for financial reporting, ensuring data consistency and audit readiness. It helps solve version control issues, allowing team collaboration on a single document, and eliminates manual data entry errors through automation.

Streamlined Financial Reporting, But Steep Learning Curve

  • February 12, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the 'link once' capability in Workiva. It provides ease of internal reporting and keeps links in sync, making it easier for me to manage documents. Also, the initial setup was very well structured, as Workiva assigned us a dedicated implementation team that guided us through dot mapping and workspace configuration.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve can be quite stiff for new users, especially for those familiar with standard word processors. This means that training takes time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Workiva for financial reporting, ensuring all numbers are accurate across documents. It solves version control issues and enhances team collaboration by allowing us to work on the same file simultaneously.

Powerful Wdata Automation with Excellent Version Control

  • February 10, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the power of Wdata and its automation because it makes data integration easy and helps avoid manual errors. I also really like the version control between documents; it’s excellent for maintaining data integrity.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface could use some improvement. It feels slow and heavy, but mainly when I’m working with large amounts of data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me a lot with data governance by eliminating issues such as scattered files and making it easier to generate complete, reliable reports. I can confirm that Workiva delivers on what it promises and does an excellent job.

Centralized Data, Real-Time Version Control, and Automated Compliance Tracking

  • February 10, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love being able to centralize data and have real-time version control. It ensures that when a change occurs, control stays centralized and is automatically monitored, which helps eliminate manual errors. On top of that, the automated workflow makes it easy to track certification and compliance reviews—it’s fantastic.
What do you dislike about the product?
We ran into a few challenges during implementation, and setting up the framework was fairly complex and time-consuming. That said, none of these issues had any negative impact on its functionality.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Overall, it’s a good tool that works well. It does require a considerable investment of time and money, but it also provides peace of mind, which supports data analysis and improves operational efficiency. For me, the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. It’s excellent overall, and everything runs smoothly within an auditable, professional workflow.
