No need to remember your passwords anymore!

  • April 13, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to generate and securely store as many tricky passwords as I need and be able to access them over a range of devices.
What do you dislike about the product?
A bit fiddly trying to read, rather than copy, your passwords.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Improved cybersecurity as we're now able to use long, complicated and different passwords for each site, without worrying about forgetting them or having a paper record.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Highly recommended way to keep track of your passwords on all your devices (computer, laptop, phone, etc.).

Indispensable tool

What do you like best about the product?
1password is the second password management tool I've used. I started with Web Confidential about 15 years ago (i've been a longtime devotee of password management). I loved Web Confidential but with the advent of multiple devices it was hard to keep things synced - and that's when I jumped ship to 1password (I was an early adopter, as a Mac user). Over the years it has consistently improved and has always been very responsive to the needs/complaints/recommendations of us end users. Now I have it on my laptop and smartphone and use 1password.com to sync things. I use it to store all sorts of info beyond passwords: banking info. personal identity info, software licenses. If it has a login or password, 1password can help.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have run into occasional glitches in syncing. Currently I use 1password.com which is fee-based ($2.99/month). It works pretty well. My current biggest issue is with the iPhone X and facial ID. It has a pretty uneven track record, in my experience. I have had to remove and reinstall the app a few times and also end up having to reenter the 1password.com password often. Not a deal breaker, but an annoyance. I had no trouble with Touch ID.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I provide website support and have a lot of ftp and app passwords to manage. 1password makes that all very simple. It has also helped in the creation of more secure passwords (the password generator is a great tool). Using their password audit I can easily update old/vulnerable passwords.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You have multiple sync options if you don't want to pay $2.99/month to 1password.com. You can also sync to Dropbox or iCloud. Super cool new feature: Travel Mode, which protects your data from unwanted searches (you need a 1password subscription for this).

Secure and easy way to store personal and professional passwords

  • April 10, 2018

What do you like best about the product?
I like having a personal vault and a shared vault for team logins.
What do you dislike about the product?
Have not encountered any issues so far in my use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Streamlining product password organization; efficiency; security.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure that users store their master password somewhere secure. Some coworkers have run into challenges after updates or when attempting to access 1Password from another device without the master password. I've never experienced difficulty, but this would be the advice I could share.

Great product - everybody should be using it.

What do you like best about the product?
I didn't use to use any kind of password management system, and I just had basically the same password for everything. We all know that that is bad...
Now I use 1password for (almost) everything. It integrates seamlessly with my workflows. The chrome extension, iOS app, and Mac app are all fantastic.
I also love that it also holds my CCs and other important information.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much to dislike. I guess the onboarding was a bit cumbersome, and I'm also terrified that I will lose my master password and be locked out of my account forever.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have _actually_ good and secure passwords now.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you use it, there's a super handy feature that allows you to favourite some of the logins you use most often.

1Password: one of my top 5 favorite programs of all time

  • April 05, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
1Password will meet you wherever you are. Just starting out? You get to throw away that piece of paper and get yourself an actual, safe system for saving and tracking passwords. More comfortable with the process? Add tags, folders and flexible searchability.

I keep my life in 1Password: literally ALL my passwords, plus my all of my sensitive information (account numbers, auto details, client info, etc).

I love having ONE unique password to remember for ALL passwords, and sync-ability between laptop & iOS. Don't ever (ever!!) want to go back to the way it was.
What do you dislike about the product?
Almost nothing. I do fear being bonked on the head, losing my memory, and forgetting my master password. I haven't come up with a way to hand off the "keys" to my life in the event of my sudden and untimely demise; I'll have to think through the 1Password aspect of things.

Also, I prefer buying software to subscription, and have been able to get by with that so far (i.e., updates keep being provided, the software is viable). But if push came to shove, I'd probably subscribe rather than go without.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My life is my business—does anyone separate the two anymore? So I can't say there have been particular business benefits, other than it's good to keep all of my sensitive, personal business info safe.

While I was an independent contractor, I did keep a great deal of sensitive client data in 1Password (since deleted). It was handy having it in one place, and a relief knowing it was safe.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ask yourself how much you'd lose in both time & money if someone hacked one of the many, many sensitive sites you visit. If you're being honest, the cost of 1Password is a pittance against that loss.

Worth the money

  • April 04, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, security, password generation, and ability to store additional information (bank account numbers and even small files) securely.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing that I've found is that I dislike it locking immediately when switched to the background on IOS. I understand why, but still annoying.

This is from 8 years of daily usage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a computer security expert, I understand the need to have unique passwords for every website and service and I attempt to drill this need into other people.

Since most computer users have many such passwords, you either need a system to remember such passwords (hard), write them down (problematic), use the same password (insecure), or use a password manager (easy and secure).

I chose 1Password as my password manager a number of years ago and have had no reason to regret that choice and recommend it to other people.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Well worth the money, cross platform support is excellent.

Great password tool

  • April 04, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love that my passwords are protected and easy to access.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's really nothing I don't like. It's such a well built platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Remembering multiple passwords, relying on platforms like Facebook to log in to sites -- and then being vulnerable when those sites are hacked.

What do you like best about the product?
Simple and easy to use password protection. Excellent browser add-in support. Tinley and easy to intsall updates.

Have never had an issue with the product
What do you dislike about the product?
No much to dislike. Sometimes does not pick-up username from website. However I noticed that is more an issue with the website than 1 password.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Secure password management.
