Most comprehensive monitoring tool I have used.
What do you like best about the product?
I like how flexible it is. We have a lot of items we want monitored that don't necessarily come out of the box. We are able to use our own scripts to gather the relevant information we need and present it on a dashboard that will make a difference in how we service our clients.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a bit frustrating that the tool can only return integers, unless you want to create an instance for any strings. This makes getting things like versions difficult. For example, if the version you are looking for has more than one decimal point, that is considered a string. We found a way around it, but not ideal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This tool allows our engineers to focus on solving problems, not spending time gathering data. We can present scorecards to clients through dashboards which in the past has taken us hours to gather manually.
Fantastic product
What do you like best about the product?
Putting hosts in maintenance mode is simple. But the best overall thing is Support.
What do you dislike about the product?
That we did not make the leap to LM before now.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We solved a cumbersome install issue, And benefited from the simplicity of creating alerts for any and all systems and proving that they are all the same.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make the switch now... Do not wait.
Great features, automation for monitoring a comprehensive list of device types.
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of setup and robust options for monitoring
What do you dislike about the product?
Small learning curve for locating monitored devices, escalation process and general usage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Device issue trending. Comprehensive coverage for various client needs.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great option for providing a flexible robust monitoring solution.
LogicMonitor is Time Saving Magic!
What do you like best about the product?
LogicMonitor is agentless which has been an improved experience compared to managing agents. The DataSource discovery and association of the Datapoints and all of the different types of 'data' is the magical part saving us hours of time configuring a new server or device to be monitored. Acknowledging alerts through the mobile app is full-featured. We are able to see charts/graphs of the data as well as our dashboards.
What do you dislike about the product?
After-hours alert management and notification to cell phones is not a replacement at this time for PagerDuty or Opsgenie. However, the integrations with 3rd party products exist and seem to meet our initial needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are no longer managing individual agents. We no longer need to customize or have overly broad alerting for all of our Windows Server Services that do not need to be individually monitored on every server. We now can monitor only the services on the servers that are mission-critical. We are no longer finding 'templates' to try to capture portions of the data. LogicMonitor now shows us all of the data and performance metrics. We have discovered issues in our environment that were hidden from us with our previous monitoring solution.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Set up a demo and add the servers to your environment. Their demo process works and the free professional services during the trial phase are fantastic!
Versatile and easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use and the ability to create your own datapoints for monitoring and creating easy to use dashboards for the most important views.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have had issues using SNMPv3. Some default thresholds need to be changed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Logicmonitor I have been able to sort my equipment into groups and create easy to use dashboards to quickly see the health of my network. i have also been able to create some custom datapoints to better monitor my equipment.
LM gives you the insights you are missing!
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease of use on the platform. It's very easy to find a resource and quickly have information available. It's helped numerous times when trying to identify issues that the vendor platform couldn't/wouldn't show.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I dislike of them they are already working on which is better site to site tunnel monitoring for Cisco ASAs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use logicmonitor to have a holistic view of our environment. The benefits that we have realized come from the metrics that LM is able to provide that we otherwise wouldn't be able to see. The ability to go back in the past and look at metrics has also helped a ton. The ability to see traffic and analyze netflow has led us to quicker troubleshooting bandwidth issues as well.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look at all of the products that LM integrates with and how it can fit into the big picture of your environment.
Monitoring made easy
What do you like best about the product?
LogicMonitor provides our team with a complete view of our application infrastructure. It has dramatically cut down the amount of time needed to troubleshoot issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
New versions of vendor API's are not always integrated in a timely manner.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitoring client infrastructure and internal applications.
Awesome Product
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to setup and manage the environment
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost is a bit steep but the value is there
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed eyes on the equipment so we could respond proactively to issues, this resulted in better customer experience.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The only issue I had was the auto-renew process. We had staffing changes and the e-mail was sent to an unmonitored address. The lack of response created a renewal I was unaware of until after the fact.
Solid partner - great tool.
What do you like best about the product?
I like the flexibility of being able to code/write data sources to monitor what is important to me and my business as opposed to being limited to an "out of the box" functionality.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would much prefer to have the billing system updated so that customers can spend what they consume in terms of resource counts in the portal. As an MSP, we operate with a utility model....if you let 5 people go one month, you aren't paying for them next month. the billing model is a bit antiquated in my view as nobody wants to pay for anything (software licenses included) that they aren't using. That said, the LM team has worked with me to implement a manual process to gets us close to the promised land. As the title notes: Solid partner!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have much better alarming data helping us drive our problem management process. It has also helped us automate our customer onboarding process.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have a highly diverse environment in terms of hardware, virtualization and cloud platforms give Logic Monitor a serious look. It wins on flexibility alone.
Impressive monitoring capabilities
What do you like best about the product?
Highly advanced monitoring abilities in terms of what data it can retrieve and the range of different device types.
Monitors a wide range of devices including switches, routers, SAN's, NAS's, UPS's, hypervisors, and many more.
Customer support is good. Chat support response is immediate or usually less than 5 minutes, and the engineers are knowledgeable about the product.
Granular user permissions for technicians. Reporting capabilities and dashboards are very robust.

What do you dislike about the product?
High learning curve. Somewhat expensive. Out-of the box alerting will create a lot of tickets unless a lot of time is spent tweaking.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Current RMM platform lacked some advanced network monitoring features. Also lacked some of the hardware monitoring that LM can provide, such as physical disk monitoring on SAN's. We also had no software that could retrieve netflow data, which LM can do.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
LogicMonitor is an excellent solution if you are looking for highly advanced monitoring capabilities for a wide range of devices. It offers rich analysis of network traffic and detailed monitoring of physical hardware. I wouldn't say it's for everyone, as it does come with a high price tag, and it does have an extreme learning curve. If you are a MSP, you will most likely have one person who acts as the product administrator. It will be counter-productive to try and train more than a handful of engineers on the slew of features this product has.
