Changed the way we store content
What do you like best about the product?
Canto has been easy to set up and roll out in our business. We have a lot of content so it took a while to get it all in, but it's enabled us to create APIs to share our content with partners and use portals to share it with our clients.
Our business can now easily find where

What do you dislike about the product?
It has taken time to get responses sometimes when we have raised queries.
There are a few niggles with the system which create additional work which we have requested be added to the roadmap.

The Canto Experience
What do you like best about the product?
Canto has become an everyday use for us as we use canto to archive and categorize all of our assest having the connect plug in to us on all of our editing tools has been a game changer and one of the main reasons why we keep using and engaging with the team at canto to help us use the tool the best way possible.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing that I think can be improve is the aesthetic look of the share folder as we share images with clients through canto it would be great to create a custom gallery from a share link.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
canto is making it easier for our teamt to share assest faster on a global scale while retaining the original files quality when downloaded.
Finally, a great way to organize visual assets
What do you like best about the product?
Love that it is searchable and as built-in AI that automatically tags images and people within your photos and graphics.
What do you dislike about the product?
A little clunky on the back end, setting up tags, folders, albums, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Can now invite colleagues outside the communications team to look for their own visual assets for their own work. Avoids us having to propose on their behalf.
Easy to use.
What do you like best about the product?
I'm in the marketing dept and using the tool is so helpful and easy to use. I love it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't love how you have to save things twice.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has helped organize our organization with ease. Before it was hard to find anything. Nothing was labeled. You had to jump through hoops to find the most recent file. You never knew what was labeled correctly. This has solved all those problems and made the process more efficient.
Good DAM solution, but clunky
What do you like best about the product?
My organization had almost 10 years worth of photo archives scattered on multiple cloud services and folders. In adopting Canto, we have finally been able to consolidate and organize. The functionality of being able to filter, tag, and search by keywords has certainly streamlined my work as a designer and I use it nearly every day. I have had a few issues with it, but customer serivce has always been helpful and speedy!
What do you dislike about the product?
Smart tags absolutely suck. The UI is not the most intuitive, which has made implementing this to rest of staff a little tricky. My org has a huge photo collection, and I think Canto lacks some useful features in handling this large of a library. The Canto Adobe connector is also quite clunky.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
WIth a large and disorganized photo library, the process of finding photos and assets and sharing them was time consuming and difficult. Canto streamlined this process considerably!
Easy Learning Curve
What do you like best about the product?
Canto is super easy for beginners to use. It's easy to change settings, create portals, organize, add metadata, upload photos, etc. I like the ability to sync to Box, and I like the easy of workspaces.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how only the most popular Tags are ever shown in the filter panel. This is limiting. I dislike how difficult and unintuitive it can be to clear out a search: e.g., when I run a text search and get no results, I have to return to the folder I was previously in, in order to run another search, otherwise I am still in that no results search and nothing will be returned. I wish the slate was wiped clean with each search, so to speak, or that there was a 'Clear Search' button. I really dislike how empty metadata fields display in the portal and how you have to hover to see the full text because the character limit for display is so small.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Canto to organize hundreds of thousands of images and videos and offer an access portal to them to members of organizations. We also use it to hold and display brand guidelines and assets.
Find Photos in a Flash!
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to find assets between search tools, tagging system, facial recognition, etc! Also love that I can put the same assets in multiple folders, that I can easily share both upload and download links with non-Canto users, and that I can access my assets from anywhere I have internet.
What do you dislike about the product?
Organizing folders/files is not the most user friendly/intuitive. Trying to move mass amounts of files around takes far too long, and not all of the icons/features are easy to grasp.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto makes the lives of our graphic designers TEN TIMES easier with Adobe Canto Connect and the ease with which we can search for photos and assets. We were storing everything on a very slow network/server before, and Canto has really expedited that process for us.
Love Canto and the team!
What do you like best about the product?
Canto has been the perfect DAM for our growing team as we have so many assets and so many different people needing access to the assets. The team has been so helpful with the transition also!
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downsides are the adjustment it is taking our team to go from a traditional cloud storage site to Canto. The different words and the inability to put assets within folders (unless they are in an album) have been an adjustment for our team but the whole team at Canto has been SO helpful!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Holding assets and managing who (internally and externally) can access our assets.
Easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
Canto has been a really wonderful addition to our team and the ease of use has made the implementation simple. It's a great organization tool and helps us find images and videos quickly. The customer service and implementation team also helped guide us through everything very well.
What do you dislike about the product?
No problems thus far using the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Image and video management, image tagging, and file sharing
Our Experience (so far) with Canto
What do you like best about the product?
Canto has allowed us to quickly do away with a mess of shared network drives over which we had very little control regarding access or what was added or deleted. Now everything is in Canto, which is searchable and also filterable using fields that we created and defined. Loving the document control where I can see a history of updates and go back to earlier revs. We've also taken advantage of the Portals tool to create a series of document collections based on our main product lines and the industries we serve. Finally, we have built a customer facing material database (we are a plastics manufacturer/distributor) and document technical library that pull relevant documents directly from Canto, via the Canto API, and display them on websites built on the HubSpot CMS. No more maintaining a separate docs repository for those tools. Very happy with the product and the support team has been very responsive and helpful when we've needed API support.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have a big library and it has been a challenge to find some assets via the search tool, but the search itself is very configurable and with some tweaking it works fine. I think the portals could be a little more configurable, visually, and I find the editing tools there a little quirky, but that's really all I can think of.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had documents all over the place and now everything is in one place, searchable, with just a few people empowered to keep the library up to date. We have really taken advantage of the API to also display the documents in our Canto library on the web.
