Game Changer
What do you like best about the product?
Canto has revolutionized how my team provides our assets. It enables the entire organization to view what we create and utilize those assets to their fullest potential. Managing thousands of items is a challenging task, but with Canto, it finally became achievable. The flexibility in how the end user can find assets - be it AI search, search, folders, tags, etc. is a true game changer.
What do you dislike about the product?
A couple things I would like to see further developed would be the flexibility of the design/layout of the portal pages and the ability to do drafts with templates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto is solving several key challenges for us by acting as a comprehensive DAM platform. It allows us to streamline processes, minimize repetitive tasks, and centralize collaboration, especially with our external agency partners. By creating a user-centered single source of brand truth, Canto enhances brand management, making it more efficient, collaborative, and far-reaching. This centralized approach not only empowers everyone in the organization with easy access to brand assets and knowledge but also ensures more consistent representation of our brand across all markets. This consistency is crucial for strengthening our brand presence and recognition.
Canto is a great service for filing but it is very time consuming to use effectively.
What do you like best about the product?
You can add all of your assets to one place, anyone can access it. You can send links to different users for content. You can alfo integrate different apps (e.g. Adobe and Figma).
What do you dislike about the product?
Needing to tag every asset for easy filing and it is time consuming to set up what you need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Version control of the different assets - with the many different changes we have with assets, we are able to go back to what we have done previously as references.
Excellent product!
What do you like best about the product?
Canto has been a great way for us to catalog our photos, current and older. We find the facial recognition aspect of the software to be a game changer - especially with our older photos, it's been excellent to have this feature automatically identify who is in photos and to then be able to easily search for them
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost is very high for this product, and once you start using it you are kind of at the mercy of the company to pay whatever they charge you.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Photo cataloguing - it saves us time by helping us to keep track of our very large catalogue of photos
Excellent product for end user and admins
What do you like best about the product?
I love the keyword and tagging structure Canto uses. Their custom fields make it easy to keep content organized year after year. The onboarding experience has also been excellent, and the system has been easy to navigate and learn.
What do you dislike about the product?
Truly, we have yet to find a downside to Canto. The price was daunting coming from using a very inexpensive SmugMug account, but the product is well worth it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a PK-12 school and we were using several Smug Mug accounts to manage and store our photos. We had separate accounts to manage privacy and access across our teams. This allows us to hide what we need to, share publicly when we need to, and manage our users in an effective and secure way.
Love it- easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
I love the ability to consolidate all my assets in one place and tag for easy searchability
What do you dislike about the product?
There have been some issues with certain types of files and file sizes not loading
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto is helping us store tons of different brand assets across 5 universities in one place. It's making it easier for vendors to send us things and for PMs to store them. Designers now can access everything in one place.

Helping us find digital assets that we need and do not have the human hours to sort through
Canto is a valuable resource for designers.
What do you like best about the product?
Canto is easy to navigate. You can have your own workspace that others isn't viewable to others. You are able to share photos with the client to review, even if they don't have an account. As a graphic designer, it's nice there are Canto plugins for the Adobe productsy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the plugin for Canto in Indesign is glitchy. When updating an asset, sometimes it will revert to a different photo, or you have to remove it and replace it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our company takes a lot of photos for headshots, events, stock, etc. and using Canto helps keep these photos organized through albums and folders. Photos have metadata and tags and keywords. It's easy to find photos you are looking for.
Streamlined collateral distribution
What do you like best about the product?
Unique portals allow for easy organization and sharing of relevant assets for all group needs. Users particularly like the related content and collection capabilities from portals.
What do you dislike about the product?
Initial setup using bulk/sync is not ideal for cases where all files are stored within a single source/managed folder structure. It's easier to upload manually versus remove unwanted files that sync.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Providing the correct version for any piece of marketing collateral to employees, all within a search-friendly dashboard tailored to their content needs.
Great solution for large teams with bulk assets

*Able to hold a very large quantity of assets of different formats
*Able to utilize the tool for variety of stakeholders and contituents of the business (corporate / internal material vs. campaign specific assets)
*Very flexible on tagging/maintaining/findability of assets
* Good for Enterprise Clients
*Options for non-creative users to be able to download or do basic manipulations of assets in a time crunch
*customized login screen for your organization
*A variety of user access tiers
*Able to hold a very large quantity of assets of different formats
*Able to utilize the tool for variety of stakeholders and contituents of the business (corporate / internal material vs. campaign specific assets)
*Very flexible on tagging/maintaining/findability of assets
* Good for Enterprise Clients
*Options for non-creative users to be able to download or do basic manipulations of assets in a time crunch

What do you dislike about the product?
*Canto does not yet have a robust brand management solution - creating a robust Brand Manual/Virtual Book that can be used to communicate to all users brand rules. Will be very convenient if Canto can build on the functionality to match other players in this space - everything will be in 1 single tool!

Amazing organizational tool for small businesses!
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to control what other users can see. To be able to approve only certain assets for use and to be able to create a portal for internal users to control their access as well. If you are putting a lot of assets into Canto, using the portal for internal users to point them in the right direction is key.
What do you dislike about the product?
We are trying to use Canto to also replace an internal server that we have. I wish there were a few more options with regards to to the folder structure and being able to use it more like Windows Explorer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have 25 years worth of digital assets on a server. They are saved in multiple places depending on who saved them and where that person thought they should be saved. Additonally, we have a Dropbox account where these are all saved and orgaized differently as well. The only way to find what you are looking for is to save it locally so that you can find it again. Having Canto will allow us to have only one instance of an asset and it will be searchable no matter who is looking for it.
