Jamf does EVERYTHING
What do you like best about the product?
Jamf works closely with Apple to make sure that new features are quickly adopted and able to be managed by JamfPro. Zero touch deployment has been a game changer and makes on boarding new employees fast and seamless.
What do you dislike about the product?
Newly released versions of Jamf can sometimes contain bugs. Getting started with Jamf can be a little confusing at first. Thankfully, there is a lot of documentation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My team manages over 10,000 devices in JamfPro with only 3 admins.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go all in with Jamf, you won't be disappointed. Jamf has everything that can really fine tune your management workflow and end user experience to be efficient and consistent.
Time saver and real support
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite thing is JAMF support. I have dealt with many vendors, but none of them have felt like an extension of our team like JAMF support does. I never thought support was extremely important, but it definitely is when you are talking about a system that supports thousands of devices. I've have been on the phone working with a tech an entire day before, and never once were they upset. I also like how simple it is to change something on thousands of devices in minutes.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have had problems with updates causing us issues. We tend to not update right away and wait for known product issues to arise. This has been frustrating because sometimes we need to update to support new devices. However, we have been included in quite a few product issues but most of them have workarounds.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are managing close to 10000 Apple devices on a daily basis. I've realized how much time is saved by having JAMF. If we had to manually do a lot of the things we have automated, it wouldn't be possible to get it all done.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take a look at the JAMF Nation community. JAMF has quickly become one of the standards in Apple management. There are other products out there, but it helps to have such a large community using the same product.
The only full MDM solution for the enterprise/edu
What do you like best about the product?
zero day support and solid certification program allowing me to ensure people can be trusted managing macos/ios devices across the environment. Gives great insight to what machines meet compliance with reporting that is easy to follow.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not much of a downside. If you have macOS/iOS devices that need to be managed to meet information security standards, jamf really does the best job of being able to configure a wide array or devices on the fly
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I manage a macOS environment in higher-ed with many users that are mobile. I can push changes remotely without needing to touch each machine.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do it. It is worth it!
Jamf Pro has been my go to for Apple device management since 2010
What do you like best about the product?
I love the extensibility of Jamf Pro. It can offer both simple and custom workflows to meet your needs. The support is amazing. Whether calling in or emailing, they are thorough, friendly and knowledgeable.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to see more controls and features in the hands of teachers, similar to what Jamf School has.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to use zero touch deployment with our macOS and iOS fleet. We can do customized digital signage with Apple TV using the Carousel + Jamf Pro integrations. We prefer to self-host our server environment, which we can do with Jamf Pro. Jamf allows us to manage teacher and student devices, crafting policies that align with our district culture and supports learning in the classroom.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take time to review and test the features. Get a clear vision of how you want your Macs and iPads to be for students and for teachers. Create a list of controls, restrictions, and features you want to implement. Then see how Jamf can accomplish this.

Can't live without it.
What do you like best about the product?
JAMF allows me to manage over 1000 devices with pulling my hair out daily. I have multiple buildings that computers and iPads and JAMF works flawlessly. Moving to the cloud was a breeze as well. I was online with support and they took over my machine and moved everything without a hitch. The greatest thing about JAMF is the yearly updates that are taking place. This is the first company that really listens to their users and modifies the product to meet the demands of the education industry along with providing a discount. This allows the schools with limited budgets to utilized JAMF to it full potential.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are times when the support will take quite a few emails to solve the issue but it has always been resolved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The elementary teachers are constantly looking through app store for new and exciting apps that will enhance their classroom. With JAMF I can get and deploy apps quickly from any of my devices. We are currently using and out dated version of Office so I need to prevent the students from upgrading to Catalina and JAMF has an easy solution to restrict the software until I am ready.
Great product!The
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to navigate interface, zero day support for the latest versions of Apple's OS releases, and integration of new functionality and flexibility to incorporate the tools you need to manage all Apple platforms.
What do you dislike about the product?
Patch Management could stand to use some updates to make it easier to incorporate adding custom patches without having to add a custom patch source and perhaps allow for a closer integration with AutoPkg(r). I'd also like to see easier switching between locations, e.g. the ability to click on a script that has been added to a policy and navigation to that script in the computer management > scripts settings.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Software updates, patch management, network settings and authentication, system settings and restrictions, etc.
My Jamf use
What do you like best about the product?
How easily I’m able to deploy apps or profiles to an iPad or several simultaneously, and also remove them if need be.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not knowing enough about the Mac side of Jamf ... ugh
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to deploy app groups to specific iPads, ie; Chinese vs. Science. To deploy iPads to both students and staff and immediately filter content from either role using Jamf Pro. We were using VPP for staff, and deploying 100’s of apps to our iPads; but now we are deploying apps to self-service by role and building. And a core set of apps to our student iPads, with the ability to load more apps from the self-service giving students more storage space on the iPad.
Pro tools for Education and excellent support
What do you like best about the product?
Expert support never leaves you behind. The support at Jamf is amazing. If you ever have a question either submit a ticket or ask the Jamf Nation community which is amazing too! I don't ever feel like I'm out in the forest. I can always count on assistance when I need it. I also like how simple Jamf has made the layout. Everything is streamlined and makes sense. If you are a new user or an expert user it couldn't be easier to be productive and manage a small number of devices or a gigantic enterprise.
What do you dislike about the product?
Client list could be more extensive. I still haven't figured out how to delete multiple clients at once when computers are retired. Patch management could be more user friendly and provide support for automating more software updates like Microsoft Office, Adobe Flash, Google Chrome and more. It's a pain to have to find the update files and register them on your server and setup a deployment plan. I wish you could just schedule an automatic deployment rule.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf Pro has made our support of Mac computers easy to manage. Updating software and self service make it so easy for our users to use their computers without having to contact Helpdesk for support.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure to take the time to setup your base deployment before pushing out any deployment to your devices. Have a plan and take advantage of Jump Start.
