What do you like best about the product?

What I appreciate most about DataGalaxy is its intuitive and accessible interface, which greatly facilitates adoption by teams, whether they are technical or business-oriented. The solution also offers modules tailored to different user profiles, allowing everyone to quickly find their way and gain autonomy.

Moreover, the richness of the connectors is a real asset: it allows for simple integration of DataGalaxy with tools like Power BI, Snowflake, or Oracle, thus limiting manual entries.

The price is also competitive compared to other solutions on the market, without impacting performance, even on complex lineages.

Regarding the tool's most advanced features (lineage, connections between objects, construction of MCD-type schemas), the user experience remains generally satisfactory but could still be improved. That said, the product teams are attentive, and most of these points already seem to be identified in their roadmap.

What do you dislike about the product?

Some aspects can still gain flexibility, particularly in terms of configuration and customization, which may require a significant initial investment depending on the use cases.

Moreover, while the essential features are very accessible, mastering some advanced features requires a learning period, especially for users less experienced in data governance.

However, this remains logical given the functional richness of the tool, and the documentation as well as the support facilitate skill development.

DataGalaxy has allowed us to improve the quality and understanding of data, facilitate analyses, and secure usage. Users save time finding information, better understand the context, and can use it with more confidence.

Moreover, the solution allows us to meet the regulatory requirements of Solvency II by providing a clear and up-to-date view of our data lineages to the regulatory body.

The whole contributes to strengthening governance processes and supporting the company's compliance and management challenges.

DataGalaxy offers a clear and centralized data mapping. The platform provides a shared glossary to document the data, facilitates traceability, and promotes collaboration between different teams.

Among the main advantages: a considerable time saving, increased confidence in data quality, etc.

A true tool for data knowledge, business-oriented with very refined ergonomics. The support and assistance of the Datagalxy teams in discovering the product, as well as in its implementation. A product in constant evolution and improvement.

Centralize all the IT system data whether on the SIO or the SID. A real help for project teams from the functional expert to the project manager, but also for the business sectors through project management.

Have a collaborative data glossary that links business terms to uses. Improve the quality of data for structuring/governed data.

The import tool is really impressive and can connect to a ton of different tools.
Lineage makes it easy to track the entire life cycle of your data.
The datagalaxy plug-in allows anyone to query the data catalog via their browser

Versioning, backup and deployment management lag behind other features.

Datagalaxy allows us to quickly visualize all the interactions between our different systems, from the raw data in the database to its display on user screens, including all its transformation stages. This allows us to quickly make decisions when updating our system and respond to regulatory requests.
