Vanta was the shortest path toward SOC2 compliance
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to integrate with your systems turns compliance into an actionable checklist.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd like more integrations to alert us of upcoming changes or compliance failures (e.g., webhooks).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Vanta put us in the best possible conditions for a successful SOC2 Type II audit.
Becoming SOC2 compliant - it doesn't have to be too hard!
What do you like best about the product?
Vanta made the SOC2 compliance process relatively easy by automating most tasks, helping us at SimplyPut understand how many items were left to complete, and providing exceptional support.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some tasks could have been automated a bit better, but I believe that Vanta is in the process of automating those as we speak. For example, some forms might be easily set up to be auto-filled instead of having the find and replace lots of text.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Vanta helped us become SOC2 compliant relatively quickly so that SimplyPutcan show customers we have secure practices to handle their data! As a data company, proving good security practices is paramount, and we're delighted to have Vanta help us showcase how seriously we treat security and compliance.

What do you like best about the product?
Helpful reps to assist in set up, questions, demo/review allowed us to get started going towards SOC2 quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really - price is a little steep but SOC2 compliance is in general, overall Vanta actually saves money.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Faster time to showing security posture and policies for working with Enterprise customers who have high security needs.
Excellent automation and centralization for compliance needs
What do you like best about the product?
The integrations and automations provide an excellent central source of truth about your systems from a compliance viewpoint. The policy templates are well thought-out and offer a great starting point on your compliance journey. The customer service team has been very engaged and seems to care about our company and its compliance needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were more integrations (I understand they are adding new ones all the time). It would be great to get to the point of very minimal evidence uploading. Sometimes automated checks will overlap with different third-party integrations, and you need to go in and manually turn off different checks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our company felt we were in a good place from a security standpoint (and we're HITRUST certified), but we wanted a better platform to consolidate, remind, and automate more of the ongoing compliance process. Vanta was able to fulfill our goals and ease the compliance burdon on our workforce.
Don’t know anything about SOC2, or how to get one, Vanta is your answer!
What do you like best about the product?
Vanta helped us understand the process of navigating through the vast number of steps and controls we had to put in place to qualify for SOC2. Vanta also automated a big chunk of work for us, making the whole experience a pleasant one.
What do you dislike about the product?
Better understand the full cost. There are 3rd party costs involved that we weren't made aware of. Vanta could help us understand the full cost ahead of time to avoid and unexpected surprises.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automating the checks, controls and policies required to obtain a SOC2 security certificate. Vanta also helped us with introductions to 3rd party vendors and auditors.
Vanta has Made SOC 2 Compliance a Manageable Process
What do you like best about the product?
Vanta has made SOC 2 compliance a manageable process for us. Their customer support is there to help with any issues encountered during setup and ongoing compliance. The tracking features and available integrations have allowed us to save time and more efficiently track items like BYOD devices and access.
What do you dislike about the product?
Vanta is still a growing compliance platform. I appreciate the effort, but some of the features that are rolled out can be buggy and do not always seem like they are production ready. The PFD policy editor was one instance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This makes SOC 2 attainable for a smaller company like ours. The integrations allow for simple management of assets. This saves us time jumping across resources to gather data.
Vanta has simplified our auditing process while also ensuring we are kept in compliance.

I wish Vanta has integrations with more platform, but they have the core tools.

Vanta provides an excellent starting point for start-ups to begin their SOC 2 compliance journey.

The policy document templates are a game changer for starting a compliance program from scratch.

Vanta is extremely responsive to feedback. My initial feedback and pain points have all been remediated. Highly recommend

For small companies, Vanta enables a level of compliance previously unavailable without a dedicated security/compliance team.

The most difficult part is the initial time you have to spend gathering all the necessary info.

Way to go for SOC2 compliance
What do you like best about the product?
Vanta is the best partner we could have chosen for our original SOC 2 certification, and we decided to continue the relationship with them for the second year. They helped with the original setup, maintenance, monitoring, and even introducing us to auditors. The tool is usable by the whole team, and it has made our team more conscious about security practices.
What do you dislike about the product?
They used to have some alarms that would fire constantly even though they did not apply to our particular case, but after their new web re-design, those are gone.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Finding a SOC 2 auditor, initial set up of best practices and policies, continuous monitoring, alarms, onboarding and offboarding checklists, and security trainings.
