Vanta Makes SOC 2 & HIPAA Compliance Effortlessly Ongoing

  • April 20, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What stands out most about Vanta is how much it automates what used to be painfully manual compliance work, especially for frameworks like SOC 2 and HIPAA.

From a UI/UX perspective, the dashboard is clean and actually actionable. Instead of digging through spreadsheets or static checklists, you can immediately see what’s passing, what’s failing, and what needs attention. The way controls are mapped to real systems (like Google Workspace, AWS, etc.) makes it easy to understand compliance status at a glance. For example, rather than manually verifying user access reviews, Vanta continuously monitors them and flags gaps—saving hours of audit prep.

On integrations, this is where Vanta really delivers value. It connects seamlessly with tools we already use (cloud providers, HR systems, version control, device management, etc.), which means evidence collection happens automatically in the background. A concrete example: instead of pulling screenshots or logs for an audit, Vanta maintains a live audit trail tied directly to those integrations. That alone eliminates a huge amount of back-and-forth during audit season.

In terms of workflow improvement, the biggest gain is moving from reactive to proactive compliance. Previously, audit prep was a scramble—now it’s more of a steady-state process. Tasks are assigned, tracked, and reminded within the platform, so nothing falls through the cracks. This has reduced audit readiness time significantly and lowered stress across teams.

For performance, it’s reliable and runs continuously without much intervention. The real-time monitoring means issues are caught early rather than discovered weeks later during a manual review.

Looking at pricing and ROI, while Vanta isn’t the cheapest tool, the time savings and reduced audit overhead more than justify the cost. When you factor in fewer hours spent on evidence gathering, fewer external audit delays, and less internal coordination, the ROI becomes pretty clear.

Support and onboarding are also strong. The onboarding process is structured and guided, which is helpful if you’re new to compliance frameworks. Their support team is responsive and knowledgeable, especially when it comes to mapping controls or troubleshooting integrations.

One unexpected benefit has been how it improves internal accountability. Because controls and tasks are visible across teams, it encourages better security hygiene company-wide—not just within compliance or IT.

Lastly, on the AI/intelligence side, Vanta’s automation and smart alerts act as a kind of lightweight intelligence layer. It surfaces risks and gaps without requiring deep manual analysis, which is especially useful for smaller teams that don’t have dedicated compliance experts.

Overall, Vanta turns compliance from a one-time, high-stress project into an ongoing, manageable process—and that shift alone has been the biggest value.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some areas where Vanta could improve:

UI/UX: While generally clean, certain workflows (like navigating control details or audit evidence) can feel a bit buried, requiring too many clicks to find what you need quickly.
Integrations: Not all integrations are equally deep—some require manual follow-up or don’t capture as much evidence as expected. Expanding native integrations or improving data depth would help.
Performance: Occasional lag when loading dashboards or refreshing large datasets can slow things down slightly.
Pricing/ROI: The cost can be high for smaller teams, especially if you’re not using the full breadth of features. More flexible pricing tiers would make it more accessible.
Support/Onboarding: While generally helpful, more proactive guidance or clearer documentation for complex controls would improve the onboarding experience.
AI/Intelligence: Automation is strong, but the “intelligence” layer could go further—like offering more predictive insights or clearer recommendations instead of just flagging issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Vanta is solving the problem of manual, time-consuming compliance management, especially for frameworks like SOC 2 and HIPAA, and turning it into a continuous, automated process.

Before using Vanta, compliance meant pulling screenshots, tracking evidence in spreadsheets, chasing team members for confirmations, and scrambling before audits. Vanta centralizes all of that—automatically collecting evidence from integrated systems, mapping it to controls, and keeping everything audit-ready in real time.

The biggest benefit is time savings and reduced operational burden. Tasks that used to take days or weeks—like preparing for an audit or validating access controls—are now largely automated or continuously monitored. This frees up internal teams to focus on higher-value work instead of administrative compliance tasks.

It also improves accuracy and consistency. Because Vanta pulls data directly from systems (like cloud infrastructure or HR tools), there’s less risk of human error or missing documentation. Everything is standardized and traceable, which makes audits smoother and more predictable.

Another key benefit is proactive risk management. Instead of discovering issues during an audit, Vanta flags gaps in real time—like missing policies, outdated access reviews, or non-compliant devices—so they can be addressed early.

Finally, it enhances cross-team accountability and visibility. Compliance is no longer siloed; tasks and responsibilities are clearly assigned within the platform, making it easier for teams to stay aligned and responsive.

Overall, Vanta transforms compliance from a reactive, stressful process into an ongoing, manageable workflow that saves time, reduces risk, and improves audit outcomes.

Efficient Compliance Tool with High Costs

  • April 20, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I use Vanta for GRC activities, and I find it very helpful to manage compliance in an automated way. I appreciate the fact that it includes lots of AI features, which help reduce manual work and ensure error-free processes. I particularly like the policy writing feature, which is the best part for me, and the various checklists for all different frameworks are so good and robust. The initial setup was good overall, despite integrations taking some time initially. Overall, using Vanta has been a good experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
The tool is a bit expensive so it becomes difficult to convince the customer for taking the same. Some customers report the support team is a bit slow in urgent cases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Vanta to manage compliance in an automated way, reducing manual work and errors with its AI features.

Comprehensive Compliance Management in One Place

  • April 20, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate Vanta for coordinating tasks for different individuals and tracking risks seamlessly. I find it highly convenient to have document approvals and compliance tests automated in a single place. It's great that Vanta covers employee computer security checks and security trainings as well. I like that Vanta has a lot of relevant features built into a single tool, so I don't need to search for various documents across the company. I personally use the Compliance, Risk, Assets, and Personnel tools a lot, and I find the automated tests incredibly helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some functionality is a bit dispersed or obscure. For example, the integrations tab for managing the scope of different services is a bit buried compared to how frequently we need to interact with it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Vanta to coordinate tasks, track risks, manage document approval, and automate compliance tests. It centralizes management, including employee security checks and trainings, making everything much easier.

Effortless Compliance Automation with Minor Export Issues

  • April 20, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate Vanta for its evidence tracking and assigning ownership features, which help remove ambiguity around who owns what and how ready we are for compliance. The AI to check if evidence is fantastic, acting as a massive time saver, and the auditor mode really stood out since it helped us pass our audit. Vanta automates compliance efficiently, reducing the time and effort I have to spend checking each piece of evidence and ensuring everything is in an easy-to-view location for the auditor. The initial setup was straightforward with no issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only area it is weaker on currently is SAQ exports. We often get complex webforms and spreadsheets, so when we upload and get the answers, the export messes up the format.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Vanta for evidence tracking and assigning ownership, which removes ambiguity. The AI feature is a massive time saver, and auditor mode simplifies compliance checks, reducing time and effort in preparing evidence for audits.

Amazing UX, good tools, potential for a lot more.

  • April 20, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I complete the internal audit for our ISO 27001 compliance so the Controls dashboard and filtering help a ton in guiding the audit and staying organized.
What do you dislike about the product?
That it is only a compliance tracking tool when it has potential for much more. We were hoping to use it for our ISO 9001 compliance as well, essentially utilize it as a QMS, but the functionality is not there yet. It would have been really helpful, especially considering that all other tools in the market are severely outdated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Compliance management for ISO 27001, SOC2, and training management for ISO9001
