Vanta is the guru for SOC 2
What do you like best about the product?
Vanta breaks down a framework's controls into actionable items, allowing my team to divide and conquer. It is the master dashboard for access, security, and personnel management that our IT team needs. We are able to connect to all of our significant platforms to get real-time audits on security, access, and maintenance decisions. Beyond receiving our certification, our IT team will continue to use this platform. This is a go-to for a startup company.
What do you dislike about the product?
Organizing people in Vanta can be a pain. If you use shared mailboxes or alternative mailbox solutions for users who may need more than one email, tracking these items out of scope can become laborious.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Auditing our platforms for SOC 2 certification.

Automated collection of evidence and connections to auditors. Fairly easy to get to get up and running.

Lack of best practices and recommendations in certain areas.

Easy process for SOC 2 acquisition
What do you like best about the product?
Vanta is an excellent way of organizing your work and developing the acquisition of the SOC 2, it integrates many different fields of the company into a single tool where organization is key, allowing the following and research of every member of the company and their tasks.
Added to this, the facility of completing tasks and the amazing support you obtain from the different guides makes Vanta a perfect tool for daily use to develop many corporative tasks.

What do you dislike about the product?
The first time you see the software it can be hard to understand and follow, it's not the easiest program to understand and it takes quite a while to understand in depth all the tools and posibilities it offers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Vanta is allowing me to develop and organize all the tasks needed to obtain the SOC 2 certificate for my corporation. It's helping me find the weak points and where more efforts should be directed to to finally obtain the certificate.
Streamlined SOC 2 Compliance, Needs Consistent Support
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate how Vanta manages all our data proof and provides standardized documentation and shortcuts. The reminders are a big help in prompting us into activity and highlighting future risks so we don't fall into non-compliance. I also like that they guide us through the process, from providing templates to sourcing auditing or software providers, making everything quick and seamless. The initial setup was very easy, and I felt like my hand was held the entire time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Account team changes with alarming regularity.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Vanta to secure and maintain our SOC 2 certification. It manages our data proofs, standardizes documentation, provides reminders, and helps prevent non-compliance by guiding us with prompts and highlights areas where updates are due.

What do you like best about the product?
We use it for SOX compliance, this tool really help us in better auditing. I also like the support what they provide. Also gives some nice integration capibilities.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hard to say! They have a really good UI. I would say implementation could have been better and faster.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This is a great tool if you are focusing more on compliance oriented issues. We also use if for shadow IT as it give us more information about the users that are using restricted apps through google Oauth.

I love how this tool has so many features. Its a one stop shop for all our compliance needs

This tool lacks the ability to assign users and add-hoc checklist with a start and due date.

Its puts everything in one place and it highlights where the gaps are and whats pending input

Takes a bit of learning around how the platform works, but they've built it well, its fast, and where you get stuck the support team are very responsive.

Allows us to understand if we are compliant with various standards and are prepared or not for an external audit.

What do you like best about the product?
Vanta integrates almost all the sources of information I need for my audit and alerts me when compliance issues are found.
It's incredibly easy to get up and running, and I can make tremendous progress against our audit objectives in just a few weeks.

What do you dislike about the product?
There are some seemingly arbitrary limits to the integrations, such as only allowing a single HRIS, requiring a new onboarding for an employee who boomerangs, and a few tools being limited to only more-expensive versions of their services
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a very small organization that is trying to manage a SOC 2 Type II process. Vanta is easing the path immensely.
Very Useful for Managing Compliance
What do you like best about the product?
Picking which compliance modues to use. Then having all of the requirements laid out for completing each task make it easy to use. They are very responsive for customer support. There are a variety of integrations that caused us to switch some of our providers to make Vanta easier to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much. It works well. It would be nice if they had package deals on pricing when you get muliple modules. Or bundles like 3 modules for XXX or 5 modules for YYY.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We decided to become SOC 2 compliant. We first approached an accounting firm, which was expensive and very time consuming. There was often miscommunication. Vanta's controls are laid out very well making it easy to use. We liked it so much that we added the PCI module and are working through it.
Turned a Daunting Project into a Doable One
What do you like best about the product?
Vanta has helped make the SOC 2 process ten times easier than it would have been without it. The integrations, policy templates, risk register, list of controls, and myriad other features have helped streamline and automate what would have been a very time-consuming, manual process.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a bit of a learning curve when it comes to learning the tool, but Vanta's support materials are quite thorough. The times when we haven't been able to find an answer, we reached out to their customer support team and they responded with an in-depth answer within 24 hours.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Vanta automates and streamlines the audit management process, which has enabled my team to focus on the more in-depth parts of preparing for the audit (rather than needing to focus on the more administrative aspects).
