Awesome service....just did not use it enough
What do you like best about the product?
How realistic thier virtual narrators are.

I wish it were a little less costly for those who do not use it frequently.

Overly Restrictive Content Moderation — Especially Healthcare, Biotech, or Medical Related Content
What do you like best about the product?
Wouldn't know, product would not generate content.
What do you dislike about the product?
We evaluated Synthesia for corporate investor and clinician presentations. Our first practice video — based entirely on our public corporate website and focused on a valid, fully compliant medical diagnostics company — was automatically rejected with the message:
“Your video submission does not comply with our content moderation policies and cannot be approved.”
The support process was frustrating:
Initial responses were from an AI bot with canned text.
When a human replied, they admitted the content was flagged because it was “medical related” and therefore any use of their stock avatars is prohibited unless you pay extra for a “custom avatar” (minimum $1,000/year).
They labeled our material as “medical advice” despite it containing no diagnosis, treatment guidance, or unsafe claims — it was an investor/clinical trial overview.
The moderation team refused to reconsider, and the support team said they could not override moderation decisions.
Then to make matters worse, there is not actually a way to delete an account without going through support. And support made no effort for customer retention... not sure how any company today can exist with such horrible support services.
For companies in healthcare, biotech, or medical diagnostics — even if your content is non-promotional, educational, and entirely factual — Synthesia’s content moderation rules mean you will not be able to use their stock avatars at all. This limitation is buried in their Acceptable Use Policy and not clearly stated before purchase.
Why this matters:
If you work in regulated industries, you will likely hit the same roadblock, wasting time and resources. The platform’s automated content moderation is rigid, misclassifies legitimate content, and offers no practical appeal process.

It did not benefit me in any way. Would not let me create the necessary content without an expensive upsell with no guarantees that the content restrictions would work.
Limited Functionality, Lack of Transparency, and Poor Refund Policy
What do you like best about the product?
The platform makes it quick and simple to create AI presenter videos without needing filming equipment or on-camera talent.
What do you dislike about the product?
The avatar selection is far more limited than expected, with no meaningful clothing or branding customisation unless you invest in an expensive enterprise plan. There’s no clear way to preview avatars before purchase, VAT is only shown at checkout (increasing the final cost significantly), and there is no refund policy, even if you realise immediately that the service won’t meet your needs.

It may be useful for some small businesses, but it doesn't solve any problems for us.
Ease of use
What do you like best about the product?
I had no experince at all with creating videos and I managed to create a micro-learning series for our clients within a very short time. The platform has loads of preformatted videos to chose from and the designs are very good.
Uploading our own grpahics and corporate identity was also very easy.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Client education and client acquisition
Quickly make up for not having a Marketing Department.
What do you like best about the product?
Synthesia allowed me to make up for years of not having a marketing team or budget in a very short amount of time. In one weekend, I was able to make sales training videos and other materials that would have taken months for my HQ to produce for me.
What do you dislike about the product?
The locked portions that are reserved for the Enterprise plan would be very helpful, and they are things that other software provide for free. Brand Kit for example.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Digital content is expensive to produce and usually requires a great deal of human resources not always available to small businesses.
Impressive customer support
What do you like best about the product?
I love everything there is about Synthesia. I've only started using it for a month now, but it has reshaped how we create e-learning content and embed these videos into our LMS systems. I love the AI features of generating avatar videos, which are highly visual and create a lot of engagement for our learners. As an L&D specialist, I commend you guys for putting forth such software to change how we engage learners and employees, moving away from the traditional ways.

I had an issue with loading in my project, and the AI chatbot was able to get me to speak to an agent who was courteous enough and kind enough to listen, and after the issue was resolved through a solution she gave me. What do you dislike about the product?
So far nothing but love for the support from the team and the tutorial, which are helpful, and the human interaction. I am not a fan of chatbots but am glad you're the first I've seen where a chatbot allows me to connect to an agent to get things moving quicker. Your follow-up on customers is great, and now I know what I signed up for and am getting my money's worth for my organization.

Synthesia is giving customers the freedom to be creative without limits and the power to build engaging content which is powerful. People like to interact with fellow people, as the human touch is important and for a learner, adding a picture next to information gives learners a better way to stay engaged with content and follow through as body language is imprtant to communication and non-verbal cues which makes it nice for anyone creating programs or presentation that speak clear form a wide selection of languages. For one it helps me make elearning content exciting for employees
Fast, Easy Video Creation with Synthesia
What do you like best about the product?
I use Synthesia for creating marketing, training and promotional videos. I appreciate its terrific text-to-speech capabilities. This feature significantly reduces the production time needed for videos that require voice-overs. I also found the setup of Synthesia to be very easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Synthesia doesn't offer all the editing options of a full video editing suite. So a few more editing options would be helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Synthesia reduces production time for marketing and promotional videos by providing text-to-voice avatars. The integrated stock photos and videos are typically helpful also.
Business Processes Simplified
What do you like best about the product?
The system is easy to use, and the steps are repeatable. AI features make generating new content reasonably easy, with minimal adjustments. This makes for a simple but repeatable process in creating content that is familiar and easy for our company to use and generate sustainable content. Prebuilt templates allow for basic outlines but allow for a significant amount of flexibility. This is a great product!
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside I have encountered is that dictation seems to change between voice actors. One voice will read a word or phrase differently than another. This makes trying to find the right tone and cadence slightly difficult. I would also like to see a slightly faster cadence on most voices, as I think keeping people engaged, involves moving through content at the right speed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Synthesia is providing a platform for our project controls to easily generate content for micro trainings and ensure consistent messages are delivered. Content takes time, Synthesia provides a simple tool to generate consistent format and content.

The system is very user friendly and easy to grasp for a learner.

I wish the preset avatars were not so robotic and would be ideal if they would do more movements such as walking etc.

Timely customer service support
What do you like best about the product?
I had a question about my account and reached out to customer service. To my surprise, they responded almost immediately and resolved my issue. The support team was professional, friendly, and incredibly efficient. It's rare to find such prompt and reliable service these days. Highly impressed and truly appreciated!
What do you dislike about the product?
One suggestion for improvement: it would be even more convenient if common issues could be resolved through a live chat feature. Sometimes, waiting for email replies or phone calls can be a bit time-consuming. Adding a chat option would make the experience even smoother and more efficient
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I loved how easy it was to create a video. The interface was simple, and I didn’t need any technical skills to get started. Great experience overall!
