Efficient Video Production with Game-Changing Avatars
What do you like best about the product?
I use Synthesia primarily for college training videos. Using the built-in and selfie avatars has made video production so much more efficient, reducing my production time from twenty hours to just two. I like that Synthesia is constantly evolving, and the beta-based personal avatars are a game-changer. They're simple to use; all I need is a still photo and a short script. I like having myself as an avatar to present material. The initial setup of Synthesia was simple too.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are still a few glitches with the pronunciation of uncommon words, such as names that need to be adjusted. Also, the eyes in the personal avatars need adjusting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Synthesia for college training videos, and it makes video production more efficient, cutting down from twenty hours to two. The self and beta-based personal avatars are simple to use, enhancing my experience by allowing me to present material as an avatar.
Scalable Video Creation with Some Drawbacks
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Synthesia is a scalable solution for us. It allows us to create videos without the need to record them ourselves, which is a big time saver. I also appreciate how easy it is to create my own avatar, enabling us to add our own customization and brand identity, rather than using standard avatars.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a lot of limitations. The credit system, I think, is really bad. There's issues with AI whenever we put forth the video and then have to go back and watch it. And realize that queues weren't picked up on, maybe not a mispronunciation, but just something with the avatar script or whatever is not working. And so then we have to go back and do that, and then that eats into the credits that they give us for curating videos, and so that's a very painful point for us.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Synthesia for scalable AI video creation, which saves me from recording videos myself. It enables use of AI avatars, streamlining this process and embedding our branding through custom avatars.
Personal Avatar Creation and Scripted Voiceovers Made Easy
What do you like best about the product?
The personal Avatar creation and voice over from script
What do you dislike about the product?
When the right avatar VO timing is matched to the video, it changes if I make even the slightest adjustment to the VO.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows me to create personal presentations where as before it relied on the presenter being present
Easy to Use with Great Multilingual Translation
What do you like best about the product?
How easy it is to use and being able to translate to other languages.
What do you dislike about the product?
The price jumps up a lot for the full package. As a small company we cannot afford this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
More engaging training for staff.
Great to Have Icelandic Language Support
What do you like best about the product?
Icelandic language is a possibility. Making training video's is fast and the software easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Small country, so not all possibilities are in Icelandic as sometimes the pronunciation stops our video as Synthesia reads words as something as offending and is not. Does not point directly to the problem.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There is an ongoing development so lots of new things but sometimes not in my language.
Easy-to-Use, Multilingual Video Creation Tool
What do you like best about the product?
I love that I can quickly send out a concept just by using a PowerPoint that I already have, and being able to burn in closed captions is really helpful. It's so easy to use and to edit, and even without formal training, I can make professional videos in minutes. The dashboard is so intuitive which I really appreciate. I use the avatars most, and I usually use at least two languages. There was no learning curve—it just worked right from the start, which was over a year ago.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd like to be able to preview voices and edit intonation a little bit more. I would like to be able to describe a voice type/intonation and then choose from several selected for me, instead of having to go into each of the hundreds of avatars and listening to them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I quickly send out concepts using existing PowerPoint slides. I love using several languages and burning in closed captions. Synthesia's ease of use lets me create professional videos in minutes without formal training.
Excellent for Educational Content, Less So for Social Media
What do you like best about the product?
I really like Synthesia because it lets me set up my personal avatar by recording voice and video directly on the platform, which is a neat feature. It's also easy and quick to use since I don't have to manually record and edit videos anymore. I just enter the script, and Synthesia makes the clone video for me, allowing me to have videos of myself speaking without the hassle of creating them from scratch.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find Synthesia a little bit stiff when creating content for social media. It's not totally adapted for that, as it's more suited for presentation and instructional videos. The videos I create don't seem to have the potential to go viral on social media. Also, the lip syncing is about the same as HeyGen, which I switched from, but it wasn't quite what I was looking for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Synthesia saves me from manual recording and editing by just entering the script for clone videos, making the process much faster and easier.
Intuitive and Seamless Video Creation Tool
What do you like best about the product?
I find Synthesia intuitive and fairly easy to use, which is a big plus since it makes it easy to learn and utilize. If there's ever something I need more information about, they have terrific online help and even offer online classes. I love the ability to import my own PowerPoint materials, as it makes branding or using a theme really simple. I also appreciate that if I have questions, I can just send a chat and get quick answers. The initial setup was seamless, which was great for our team of about 50 employees.
What do you dislike about the product?
If I were able to edit the PowerPoint slides that I've imported. Or if I were able to add (copy and paste) an additional PowerPoint slide into a video that is in progress. For example, if I find an error in a PowerPoint presentation I've imported, I have to start over.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Synthesia to create 'how-to' videos for employees, allowing them to watch at their convenience. It eliminates the need for multiple takes as I can edit the audio script anytime.
Easy to Learn, Straightforward Video Creation with Helpful Support
What do you like best about the product?
It’s easy to use. I was able to teach myself very quickly, and I’ve attended several webinars hosted by Synthesia. The features are very self-explanatory and straightforward to navigate.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it takes a long time for a video to generate. Recently, I had to contact customer support when a video seemed “stuck” during the generation process. The customer service representative was very helpful and resolved the issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is so incredibly easy to generate content for our website and promotional needs. And I can make changes in a matter of minutes.
Professional Videos in Minutes—Huge Time and Cost Savings
What do you like best about the product?
It saves me time and significant financial costs. Makes my advertorials look professional and gets the message across without negative impacts. I can generate a new video in minutes not weeks, edit and publish as the needs arise based on business or clients changing needs. Suddenly the business has professional media, did i mention the cost is much less than old systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
It took me too long to use the ai features, they have added a new level of end user interaction

Allows me to directly focus and tailor each video to match each client groups needs rather than do generalised media, the results are immediate
