Pixel Perfect: A Hilariously Honest Review of Synthesia's AI Avatars
What do you like best about the product?
Using Synthesia is like having a personal video production studio in your pocket. Imagine directing your own quirky cast of AI avatars with just a few clicks. The interface is so intuitive that even your tech-phobic aunt could create a polished video. Plus, the customization options make it a blast to experiment with different styles and voices. It's like playing a game where the end result is a professional-looking video. Synthesia makes video creation easy, engaging, and downright fun!
What do you dislike about the product?
However, while Synthesia's AI avatars are impressively lifelike, they occasionally fall into the uncanny valley. There's a certain charm to their robotic precision, but sometimes they can feel a bit too perfect, lacking the spontaneous quirks that make humans, well, human. And let’s be honest, no amount of AI-generated charm can fully replace the genuine warmth of a real person on camera. So, while Synthesia is a fantastic tool for quick and easy video creation, it’s not without its slightly eerie limitations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Synthesia is allowing us to create a hub of video tutorials to train other staff without needing on going in person sessions.
Never had anything like this application...as my grandkids would say "POP THIS IS OFF THE CHAIN"

The ease of us even for a senior citizen like me....

The avatars could be a little more realistic...

Fantastic Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Makes video creation super fast and easy, no previous video filming or editing skills required. Great quality videos Get created and are easily editable if something changes. Makes the content more personable by having an Avatar hosting the session.
What do you dislike about the product?
If it's a larger video it can take a while to download but I usually leave it and do another task while waiting. Would be good to be able to do basic edits on a mobile.

Some features are more modern or straightforward to use; layering for animations could be a lot better by adding the ability to work in the layers like PowerPoint, and for more than a few fade-ins and outs, the lack of accessing the layers makes it messy - so you have to be extra careful.

Language Barriers (I hope to try this soon - but I love the option): Creating videos in multiple languages can be expensive and time-consuming. Synthesia’s ability to generate videos in various languages is a huge advantage.

Amazing to create and share
What do you like best about the product?
The ease in which to create the video, add the script, edit when needed, and add diction when necessary.
What do you dislike about the product?
The closed captioning is quite large and interferes with the template view. This can be managed, but it would be nice if I had more control.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can quickly put out videos with high quality audio and turn around and edit it just as fast. The quality of the video makes it look like it is professionally done on an education budget. I am saving tons of money and making it look like we spent tons!

All Platform: It's a great experience that helps me achieve a dream I have been waiting for a long time. THANK YOU. All avatars and backgrounds help make everything really simple. The customer support is extraordinary. It's really easy to implement. I use it every day. The number of features is more than enough. It's very easy to integrate. I'm very delighted!

I like the diversity of tools, ease of use , and the great fuidity of the voices, as a native spanish speaker I love the natural feeling of Synthesia coices.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wold like to have an advaced users panel, were yoou could have in deeepth seetings or avatars generation tool.

It solves long production times of content that has a mere purpose of comunicate concrete messages, also is a great tool for platforms and apps tutorials

What do you like best about the product?
I love the fact that you can put an idea in and it can help you generate content. It is so easy to make changes with imagery, avatars, and text. I also love the fact that there is a pronounciation tool to allow you to correct how a word or name is said. A great tool to add to my toolkit.

It took a little to learn how to navigate, but once I did it has become a breeze.

The ability to make short videos to engage my audience beyond the written word.
