I use Kong Konnect most often as a current gateway. A specific example of how I use Kong Konnect as a current gateway involves onboarding microservices into Kong Konnect where we pass the host map pattern and pass the endpoint in the route path. This is how we are configuring our setup.

Kong Konnect: Simple UI, Seamless SSO, and Strong On-Prem Performance
What do you like best about the product?
Earlier we were using Kong enterprise and recently we migrated to Kong Konnect, the Konnect is absolutely a good enhancement that we wanted because UI is simple to check DP & CP, i can check all created Gateway's including how many servers are present in the DP. Integration with organization SSO is very seamless without any issues. Also there are plenty of new features for future enhancement like AI gateway and LLM connection. We have deployed CP in our on-prem and performance quite good and it was in ms only by using validations and authentication plugins.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are not major downsides, if we get a screen to deploy custom plugins or build custom plugins then that will be very helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Building custom plugins or readymade drag n drop functionality to build custom plugin and developer portal.

What I dislike about Kong Konnect is that some parts of the platform can feel a bit complex when you first start using it, especially for teams that are new to API gateways or Kubernetes. The documentation is extensive, but sometimes you need to piece together information from multiple places to get a complete picture.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kong Konnect helps us centrally manage, secure, and monitor all our APIs, which reduces complexity and makes operations more efficient. It gives us consistent security, better visibility through analytics, and flexible deployment options. Overall, it improves speed, reliability, and control across our API ecosystem.

What I like best about Kong Konnect is its cloud-native architecture and ease of managing APIs from a centralized control plane. What is most valuable?
The best features Kong Konnect offers include security, scalability, and latency, which is the most important to me.
Security, scalability, and load handling are so valuable for me because we have multiple built-in plugins such as open authentication, authentication, OpenID, and basic authentication.
Our features, such as being able to see all the logs and traces by integrating with multiple third-party applications including Jaeger, are worth mentioning.
Kong Konnect has positively impacted our organization by securing our APIs, which is one of the main concerns for us. Securing our APIs has benefited our organization by improving compliance and reducing incidents.
What needs improvement?
I wish Kong Konnect could improve by having a built-in notification system whenever any APIs get pinged so that we can receive alerts and send them to the developer.

Kong is full featured and really easy to setup API Gateway, featured as a leader in the Gartner magic quadrant.
Out of the box it has a lot of plugins centred in security, rate limiting, validations, and much more. It also supports custom plugins.
Kong is also a cloud native product, that works really well in containerized environments such as Kubernetes, and runs really well under load on low resources, such as low CPU and RAM.

A powerfull and fully featured API orchestrator
What do you like best about the product?
A very powerful orchestrator to manage lots of API products and leveraging the full power of API Gateway, Service Mesh, Kubernetes and other related tools, easily m,anaged from a nice web UI. You can count with Kong support to make sure your API products will be successfull.

Almost nothing, but the documentation could be a little more intuitive.
