Structured task tracking has improved project planning and saves time on cross‑department work

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for monday.com right now is project planning and organizational task lists.

A specific example of how I use it for project planning is that when we were deploying and cleaning up our Active Directory, we separated certain groups and folders by tasks and departments, and we were able to catalog and track progress across all different items.

What is most valuable?

The best features monday.com offers include organizational aspects, being able to assign people for tasks, progress tracking, and progress bars if you have one large task with many subtasks.

Those features, including assigning tasks and progress bars, help my team day-to-day by keeping us more organized and reducing wasted time trying to figure out who needs to do what. I do not have to micromanage; I can check monday.com to see tasks.

monday.com has impacted my organization positively as it saves us time. We are able to work more efficiently and get things done while staying organized instead of figuring out who is doing what.

In a previous organization, we completed a Windows 11 deployment through monday.com that finished faster because I was able to track each department and we did not have to hold progress meetings. It definitely saved us multiple meetings.

What needs improvement?

monday.com could be improved with more flexibility in the software for greater customizability per task and more tab configuration options.

To bring my experience from an eight to a ten, I would appreciate updates to more features and increased flexibility in the software.

I have been using monday.com on and off for five years at different roles in different organizations.

What other advice do I have?

My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing was fine, and we worked with a vendor. I gave monday.com a review rating of eight.

What do you like best about the product?
I’ve been using monday.com for over 3 years now, and it’s been an incredible tool for managing my workflow. The platform is very intuitive and easy to use, which made onboarding seamless from the start. What I appreciate most are the automation features. They save a lot of time and help keep everything running smoothly without constant manual updates.

It’s especially useful for managing multiple inquiries and staying organized. I can easily track progress, assign tasks, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks. The integrations are another big plus. It works seamlessly with tools like email and Slack, which keeps all communication and updates in one place.

Overall, monday.com has been a reliable and efficient solution for keeping everything organized and running efficiently. Highly recommend it to anyone managing multiple projects or inquiries.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing major comes to mind. Overall, I’m very satisfied with the platform and how it’s been working for me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
monday Work Management helps me stay on top of multiple inquiries, tasks, and ongoing projects without things slipping through the cracks. Before using it, it was harder to keep everything organized across emails and different platforms.

What do you like best about the product?
I like monday Work Management's customizability, especially how statuses can be changed to fit each board's needs. The automations are great because I can set them up to notify people for next steps and use them as an approval process. I also appreciate the ease of use, making the experience smooth. The initial setup was seamless, which was a big plus.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it lags, the status automations don't go through correctly and I have to manually move items.

I use monday Work Management to track project management, email, and content schedules, ensuring nothing is forgotten. It lets the team see the project scope at a glance with status updates.

What do you like best about the product?
I love the feature that allows me to track my tasks and apply different labels and statuses to them, which helps in the prioritization of tasks. The ability to track tasks and apply different labels makes my life ten times easier, so I don't have to remember everything all the time. I can make notes, tasks, and lists on monday Work Management, which helps me not forget important details and provides a steady structure for my workflow.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would appreciate it if there was a feature whereby I could create meetings directly from monday Work Management, however if this is already possible then that is brilliant then I am just not aware of it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use monday Work Management to manage workflows, track tasks, and keep records of daily tasks for client onboarding in property management. It helps me remember due tasks, track client onboarding stages, and provides structure with task labels and statuses, making my work ten times easier.

What do you like best about the product?
I use monday Work Management to manage Property Management at my company. I like having a central dashboard that shows all our properties, making status tracking easy with real-time updates from the team. Task boards help ensure no cleans or maintenance are missed, and the central communication fosters accountability within the team and aids in history searching. What I like most is that I have visibility and control at all times, allowing me to track workflows and performance, making sure nothing gets missed. The ease of initial setup was very user-friendly.
What do you dislike about the product?
A built-in ticketing system would be a great addition. Direct linking to Airbnb and Booking.com would be a great feature. It would also be great if it could be directly linked to our PMS system for automated cleaning tasks and guest-reported maintenance tickets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
monday Work Management helps us track daily workflows, manage contractor CRM, and log issues with a central dashboard. Real-time updates, task boards, and centralized communication improve status tracking, accountability, and organization, allowing us to scale operations effectively.

What do you dislike about the product?
There are limitations with certain customizations, which can be frustrating. Also, when I copy things, it adds “(COPY)” and then I have to go in and remove all of that.

What do you like best about the product?
It is extremely apt to fit whatever project management type of need there is for a team. The flexibility and depth of the programming has been exponentially helpful for my team.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the extend of the programming equally causes a barrier to entry or struggle for new or medium-level skill users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is solving for our complex need when it comes to Marketing initiatives and keeping our team organized and on track.

What do you like best about the product?
I find assigning people in monday Work Management great and appreciate that they receive an email notification. It's also relatively easy to set up, which makes getting started smooth.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were some way to report on projects easier. And better cross-project portfolio management.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use monday Work Management to keep my team updated on project status, client health, next steps, and completed work. Assigning people is great, especially since they receive an email.
