Real-time streaming has boosted live events and reduces infrastructure work for our team

  • April 24, 2026
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

Our primary use case for Ant Media is for real-time video streaming in applications like events and video conferencing. We needed something that supports ultra-low latency, and Ant Media fits well with WebRTC. It allows us to stream video with almost no delay, which is critical for user engagement. That's the biggest reason we chose it.

How has it helped my organization?

The ROI was quick and clear within a few months. We saved on deployment time and reduced operational complexity. The efficiency improved, allowing us to focus on more features rather than infrastructure. It delivered good value for the cost.

What is most valuable?

I rate Ant Media around an 8.5 out of 10. It has strong performance, scalability, and low-latency streaming. Minor improvements in documentation and monitoring would push it higher. Overall, it is a solid solution.

Scalability is one of its strong points. With clustering and cloud deployment, it handles growing traffic smoothly. We scaled from a few hundred to thousands of users without issues. That flexibility is very valuable.

What needs improvement?

More detailed debugging guides would be a real help, especially in detailing WebRTC issues. Sometimes it's tricky to identify if the issue is network-related or server-related. Adding more examples in the documentation would be useful. It would make onboarding easier for new developers.

Logging could be more detailed. For example, separating the logs by streaming ID, users, and session would save time. Real-time alerts for failures and drops would also be a great addition. This would improve operational efficiency.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Ant Media for about half a year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Ant Media has been smooth and stable in our experience. We didn't face major downtime issues, and it handled continuous streaming workloads well. The reliability has been solid overall.

How are customer service and support?

Customer support has been helpful and responsive. They assisted during the initial setup and troubleshooting. Their response was timely and practical. Overall, it was a good experience.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We were experimenting with open-source streaming tools and custom setups. They required a lot of maintenance and tuning. We switched to Ant Media for a more stable, scalable solution. It simplified everything significantly.

How was the initial setup?

The setup was relatively straightforward and quick. The pricing is reasonable, and considering the features it offers, it felt cost-effective compared to building a custom solution. The overall experience was smooth.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

The alternatives we looked at were solutions like Wowza and some WebRTC frameworks. While they are good, Ant Media offered a better balance of features and ease of use. Its low-latency performance stood out, and that influenced our decision.

What other advice do I have?

The minor improvements needed are for the documentation. Overall, it's a solid solution. I don't have any complaints about Ant Media. It's great.

I recommend clearly defining your streaming requirements before implementation. Spend time understanding WebRTC basics as well. Proper configuration makes a big difference in performance. Once it's set up, it works very efficiently.

My final thought is that Ant Media is a reliable and efficient solution for real-time streaming. It simplified complex streaming challenges and delivers strong performance. For teams working on live video applications, it's definitely worth considering. It made a real impact for us. I rate this product an 8.5 out of 10 overall.

Live streaming has elevated customer-facing events and now supports more professional broadcasts

  • February 17, 2026
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

I am creating a streaming service for a customer-facing product I am developing.

How has it helped my organization?

The feature is now more professional and feasible with Ant Media Server.

What is most valuable?

Valuable features include live streaming, event scheduling with the Ant Media Enterprise admin panel, and broadcast forwarding to social media platforms.

What needs improvement?

For the auto-managed service on AWS, it would be an improvement if it auto-scaled and the launch from the marketplace function actually added to the currently running instance in a scaled manner instead of creating an isolated instance that cannot be used without CloudFormation.

If the launch from the marketplace button is to make any sense, it should also create the CloudFormation bucket setup.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the solution for 1 to 2 years.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I am just starting to develop the product.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Ant Media Enterprise Server gives value for money.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Wowza and Red5 Pro were contenders, but the implementation was not straightforward. Ant Media is already built on Red5 and has services from Wowza, so it became the default.

What other advice do I have?

The customer support for this product and service is on point.

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Amazon Web Services (AWS)

The web dashboard is clean and easy to work with.

What needs improvement?

The product could be improved by adding VPN support and offering a local push feature in the free version.

For how long have I used the solution?

The solution has been used for two months.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

A previous solution was used and it was too cluttered, but the Ant UX is clean.

I would expect the setup to be a bit cheaper.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

An open-source free version was considered as an alternate solution.
