Intuitive and Reliable, yet Challenging Across Devices

  • October 30, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate Dropbox for its ease of use, intuitiveness, and ability to quickly and easily share documents with clients and colleagues. Using Dropbox means I don't have to send confidential documents via email, avoiding potential issues with email filters, allowing me to share large files seamlessly in real time. The platform facilitates editing and reviewing documents collaboratively, enhancing my workflow with clients. Dropbox’s structure, which is reminiscent to many of my older clients, makes the interaction easy and efficient for them. I value Dropbox's features such as setting up shared folders and modifying access for team members as projects evolve. This functionality is ideal for organizing and managing various documents within the platform, further enhancing its usability for professional settings.
What do you dislike about the product?
{"Dropbox sometimes has complexities when managing multiple devices such as phones, tablets, and computers. This makes staying on top of the system feel like a full-time job.","Switching between different devices on Dropbox can be unnecessarily complex and could be simplified.","Editing documents in Dropbox isn't as easy as in Google Docs. This makes it slightly more difficult to interact with documents, despite the overall structure being user-friendly for older clients."}
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox allows me to securely share large and confidential documents without email issues, providing real-time collaboration and editing with clients and colleagues.

Dropbox: The OG of easy auto-syncing cloud storage.

What do you like best about the product?
It's been incredibly reliable since I first started using it back in the early 2000's. Before OneDrive was even a thing, Dropbox was already doing it with a generous free tier and excellent service. I've been able to use it on Windows, Linux and also mobile devices seamlessly and it's by far the best experience I've had with file syncing services.

It's made sharing song ideas with fellow musicians a breeze, and I've found it especially helpful to be able to make a public link so I can share with people who hardly even know how to use a computer.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hmm... I do feel like people people have complained about running out of space on the free tier due to accidentally syncing things they didn't intend to. That's never happened to me though, I honestly think that the free tier is incredibly gracious when compared to other options out there so there really aren't any complaints from me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Giving me a centralized place to interact with others and store and develop ideas. I used to have to try to find a way to email mixes of songs to a client, and the restrictions that emailing places on the size of attachments made that a nightmare. I wanted the quality to be as good as possible, but I also had to keep file size unreasonably small. Dropbox has allowed me to simply upload a high quality mp3 or even .WAV file, and share the link so the client actually gets a good idea of what the mix sounds like. They can open the file on just about anything from a desktop to a smartphone.

What do you like best about the product?
easy way of navigating and quickly saving files, pictures and then transferring them to other devices. I use it very frequently, but do get discouraged by the small free option
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it is hard for me to find the files on other devices. seems that the saving and folder methods do vary between cell phones and laptops
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
it is easily accessible and user friendly for the most part.

Over 15 Years of Reliable Data Archiving with Dropbox

  • October 30, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate Dropbox for its reliable service as a secondary archive. Having used it for over fifteen years primarily for archiving data, I find its functionality quite valuable. One of Dropbox's standout features is its large storage capacity, which allows me to archive a significant amount of data efficiently. Additionally, the capability of automatic synchronization is a huge benefit, contributing to seamless data management. I also enjoy the compatibility of Dropbox across different operating systems, particularly Windows and macOS, which demonstrates its versatility. These features make Dropbox an essential part of my data management strategy.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am unable to use Dropbox to synchronize specified folders which is quite limiting. I also find it difficult to set up a drive in Dropbox, and I wish it allowed direct copy-paste functionality into Finder or File Explorer, integrating more seamlessly with my existing workflows.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Dropbox as a secondary archive, providing ample space to back up a large amount of data and automatically synchronize it.

It helps me offload large files from my computer and organize them in a thoughtful way. The sharing functionality is also great.

Excellent for transferring and backup up photos

  • October 30, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I keep Dropbox connected on my phone at all times so every picture I take and almost every picture I download (according to my settings) is saved. Then on my desktop computer, I'm able to view and save these pictures. It makes it so easy to essentially transfer and backup everything. I take and save a lot of pictures. I have pictures being synced through Dropbox every day.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes sync stops working and I have to open the Dropbox app to get it going again. If that doesn't work, a couple of times I've had to reinstall the app on my phone.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In the past, I've had to transfer pictures from my phone manually, sometimes with a cable connected to the desktop computer. Dropbox does it for me.

Amazing tool for self storage and for the remote worker!

  • October 30, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to share folders and collaborate with people so easily. It makes working remotely with people all over the country so much easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn’t much I dislike about Dropbox honestly. The only thing I can think of is maybe having a way to keep tabs of links you’ve opened under your profile. I do sometimes lose track of different dropbox links that I’ve been sent and have to go digging for them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I’m a musician and I work with other musicians all over the country to create music. Sending songs and files can be troublesome but with dropbox we can all have access to the same folders and see what each other is working on, collaborate on ideas and send full quality recordings to each other without worry.
