Later added complex functionality which I don't use. Pricing is pretty steep if you want to use it for backuping pictures.

Dropbox is a GREAT feature for my bookkeeping business

  • March 17, 2024

What do you like best about the product?
I am a remote bookkeeping / accountant with my own small business. I use dropbox all the time for my clients. We each have a 'shared' folder, which they are able to save invoices, statements, correspeondences, etc. I get a notification when they add items, so I never miss anything time sensitive.
The client always has a copy of their information and so do I!
It is a great way to have a virtual filing cabinet - affordable and I have it linked to my phoned, to my Dext program (which feeds into my accounting program). I simply LOVE it and it has saved me alot of time.
What do you dislike about the product?
My only issue with Dropbox is that for one of my clients, it will not install on her type of laptop (I do think it is a Chromebook, but not sure)
Makes more work for me receiving paper packages and a lot of emails!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox keeps me effecient and timely in a remote and virtual world

Uses of Dropbox

  • March 17, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The thing that I like most about Dropbox is that it is easy to use. I use it both for personal purposes and for business reasons.

As far as personal use is concerned, I use it for cloud storage. I often download articles relating to my various personal interests. To store everything on my desktop computer becomes problematic after a while since this takes up disk storage so I have wound up storing these things in my Dropbox instead. Also, if I want to share any of the documents that I have stored with anybody else, I can easily provide them with a Dropbox link to the desired article.

Businesswise, as a software developer I have found that Dropbox works well in conjunction with our company's website. In fact we stored setup files for our company's software application in a Dropbox account, which is linked to our website. Customers can download our software by going to our company's website and the software will be downloaded from our Dropbox.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't, thus far, found too much to dislike about Dropbox. The costs compare favorably with other cloud storage solutions that I have used in the past.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it to store software applications to be downloaded through our website from our Dropbox.
