What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude has a range of features that may be used by a large company as well as a small startup. You can use it for complex analysis, and at the same time to quickly create a simple chart to check your hypothesis. As a startup, we appreciated their yearly scholarship. It helped us to get valuable insights from the usage of our app. Also, we understood how to use Amplitude, what we need and what we need at this point but will definitely need in the future.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface is kinda hard to pick up quickly, needed about 1,5 months just to understand features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are looking at the usage of our app to understand the key features. Also, we track the usage of new features after releases to find out what users like and what they do not like.
Very powerful and inexpensive tool!
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to create segments to monitor the behaviour of certain types of user. The number of Charts and Dashboards that I can create also has no limit, or at least I haven't found it yet!
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of training or support when on the free plan, and the price for the entry level paid plan.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can monitor user activity to see what features are really useful to them and which are not being used.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be aware that with the Free Plan you get no support, implementation or training. We had to contract this out to a third party.
Amplitude: the best web and mobile analytics solution
What do you like best about the product?
I integrated Amplitude into several Android apps to record users' info and how they use apps. Using Amplitude's graphical reports, I'm provided with detailed information to answer critical questions about my development strategy. It could also help me to find errors and reproduce reported bugs by looking up a specific user and checking his logs. The last but not the least feature which makes me love Amplitude is being real-time, i.e. I don't need to wait to check the charts.
What do you dislike about the product?
First, the price of their growth plan is expensive. Unfortunately, as a startup, we couldn't afford it and we missed the user cohort reports :/ Second, some useful features are hidden and you need to spend time to find them. e.g. managing events, creating new custom events, etc. Unfortunately, I didn't get much help from their support. They are very slow and didn't get back to me when I needed them. Finally, I would say despite they have improved the UI of the dashboard, it still needs more improvement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- I use Amplitude to find how users are navigating through my app. When a user reports a bug or crash, I could look up him and check his usage path to reproduce and fix the issue.
- Amplitude also helps me to understand which features engage the users more. When I want to improve a feature or when I want to decide which feature should I implement first, I compare the recorded events to find out how the users like them.
- It also provides me with the breakdown of users according to a specific property. It helps me to plan my development roadmap.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's very easy to integrate and use. It also provides you with all the information you need. You can use it for free for a while and then if you like it make a purchase.
It is the first time that I use such an analytical tool, yet it is user friendly and understandable
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to create cohorts as I want and to investigate that user cohort's behaviors. There are times that we see some users don't behave the way we want them to. Thanks to Amplitude, I create a cohort from users who had successfully gone through a selected funnel, I analyze what are the drivers for it and what are the paths they are taking. Finally, it helps me to shape other users experience towards that.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were more suggestion regarding best practices of amplitude when trying to create a structure for whole company and funnels. As a junior product manager who is new to this role in a start-up, sometimes it is really hard to find your way out and create a whole new structure/system. It would be nice to have some tips regarding this issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are trying to optimize our user funnels, improve conversion rates and understand why our users drop-off from the funnel. Amplitude helps enormously while doing that. We already took some steps and have seen some improvements in the funnels. I also can decide which users group to have user interview with, with which users we need to communicate more etc. Moreover, user look-up feature is amazing for me, because sometimes I try to solve why a certain user had a crash on his/her app thanks to this. I assess a specific user's path by following the events triggered (even with specific parameters) and I see what was the step that caused that bug/crash.
Very helpful tool for your everyday work.
What do you like best about the product?
Quite easy to learn and use. Helps in daily monitoring of Key Performance Indicators. All the tools are quite convenient, and if something is not clear, then there is a big library of helpful articles for you to read.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is uncomfortable to change the order of events if there are really a lot of them (more than 15). It really pisses me off to drag one line after another. And you also cant get the one from the bottom to the top with one movement. The list just would not scroll. So you have to drag your event twice if you want to put it on top.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I track the Key Performance Indicators of the game such as Retention, Average Revenue Per User, Life Time Value, Paying Share and many others.
Then i can build theories on these indicators and draw conclusions. This is how i can improve key metrics of my product and make more money at the end.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Read the guides and put into practice everything you've learned. I also would recommend watch video lessons or take some courses about how analytic works.
Best tool to use to capture detailed analytics - much better than google analytics
What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Amplitude is that most of its features are available in the free version, unlike other tools which is very helpful for small businesses.
What do you dislike about the product?
It lacks few features like page view tracking which is available in Google Analytics
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are trying to understand customer behavior through Amplitude Analytics. It has helped us identify the user pain points and also understand the success of a new feature we ship.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking to move beyond google analytics, amplitude analytics is the tool for you. Unlike Google Analytics which is majorly used for page view and session tracking, amplitude gives you a more detailed insight of user behavior by allowing you to track each and every action of the user.
Best in class tool. Makes 1 person worth a team.
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to learn. Great documentation. Unparalleled out of the box charting capabilities. Has exactly the charts one needs to do proper product analytics.
What do you dislike about the product?
Dashboard view doesn't support much customization other than placement of charts. Would like to leave notes/insights/comments for my stakeholders.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Amplitude to get an idea of general feature usage and user retention/engagement/activation. I've never seen a tool that lets you manipulate cohorts so easily. Also, retention analysis super important, but Amplitude is the only tool I've found that actually makes it easy.
