Easy-to-use tool for analysing product usage and building a data culture
What do you like best about the product?
The chart-building tool has a low barrier to entry. New staff only need a 15-minute training session, then they are free to build their own charts to get useful insights. Non-technical PM's and some customer-facing staff can quickly get insights by building simple Segmentation charts and Funnel reports. We also teach them how to use the event explorer, to navigate our product and see which events appear in Amplitude. This prevents them from constantly asking analysts "which event is sent on this page?"
The Notebook report type is very useful when presenting analyses. You can get all our thoughts related to the charts down, and share all charts at once with stakeholders. They can play around with the charts without breaking anything, so they see and understand the results of the analysis, and also learn more about Amplitude and chart-building at the same time.

What do you dislike about the product?
We have had a lot of problems with Amplitude Govern, the part of the tool where you create the schema for new events. It is difficult to add new events, particularly to multiple projects (one for staging and one for production). You cannot define the schema for group properties, nor can you add descriptions of groups or group properties. Because of these issues and others, we have sourced another tool that integrates with Amplitude, to create and sync our schema.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Amplitude opens up doors for analytics for a tech product. It takes the data out of the hands of a small group of analysts, and puts it in the hands of the whole company, from tech support to product leaders and front-end engineers. Funnel and Pathfinder reports enable Product teams to quickly measure the success of feature releases. Event segmentation charts allow customer support to benchmark the customer they're dealing with against all other customers.
Amplitude also allows for clear presentation of analyses results, using notebooks, and for regular inspection of charts over time, using dashboards.

Amplitude is a one of the most necessary tools in a Product Managers bag.
What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude allows me to quickly build analysis & stay apprised of in-product customer behavior. No more guessing how a new feature is performing and how customers are engaging. Helps me quickly make data-driven decisions. Love the cohorting capabilities and the Tracking is Live feature!
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to have more collaborative features within Dashboards and Notebooks. Allow for easier tagging and comment threads. Provide area for text / paragraphs / uploaded images and screenshots.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can quickly understand how users are working within my product. I have funnels for workflow analysis. I track adoption and engagement. I track in product advertisement performance in multi-variant tests.
The benefits I've realized are a vast reduction in time to get to the data I'm looking for as Amplitude provides PMs easy self-service. I can identify problems many times before the business fines them as I'm watching events on daily basis.

Great for large-scale app analytics
What do you like best about the product?
the opinionated framework/tools for app analytics
What do you dislike about the product?
the cost, especially for large-scale data
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Understanding where our users are getting value from our app, and where we're failing them. It's hard for users of a large app to have a voice in the product, but Amplitude is helping us realize that.
Amazing way to collect and understand your data
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to build the chart and this platform also helps me to understand Customer Journeys and User Cohorts. By the way, I am a designer, but this service is easy to understand for me.
What do you dislike about the product?
Maybe I would happy to have more ways to learn how to build charts, maybe some tutorials. I understand all functionality, but I am not an advanced user and I want to learn some analytics basis.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps our project to understand, what are our users doing in our app. It also helps us categorize our users and run A/B Tests to improve our product. Good app
Excellent tool for custom insights beyond just page views
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to instrument your own events using the structure provided by amplitude. The gritty details are handled by Amplitude and provide a very intuitive UI for holding queries, charts and dashboards. If instrumented correctly, Amplitude's features for segmenting events, including within a coversion funnel, are an excellent way to understand drivers behind customer behavior. Behavioral cohorts that are dinamcially updated provide the tools to track and define your most important audience and begin to personalize their experience. All around great and solid tool. The real time user event log is a god sent.
What do you dislike about the product?
The tool does require significant effort to get up and going. Unlike something like Google analytics where you can just add a snippet of JavaScript and your done at least in the most basic sense, Amplitude does not have anything setup out of the box. This however is it's core strength. You control the events beyond just page views and bounce rates. Unfortunately given the intense amount of data real-time and event driven analytics provides the time scale for comparison is limited and multi year analysis is not currently available.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Measuring conversion, engagement, identifying key cohorts of users, understanding conversion drivers in order to know for which group of users to best place incentives. Feature usage, A/B testing results (using Split.io) for healthy feature rollouts and for defining features, general health metric monitoring. Cohort sizing for commercial engagements and building business case and impact analysis. Error debugging using the user event log.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Spend time learning how to best instrument your events. Understanding the difference between events and properties as well as event and user properties to get the most out of your data. Explore all the great built in ways to query your data.
An essential tool...
What do you like best about the product?
I love Amplitude; it allows me to easily create both dashboards to monitor the various services supported by my product and study user behavior for the product discovery phase. Also, thanks to the templates, it is easily scalable, and with the notebooks, I can keep track of specific bets.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to be able to mix different data sources to generate a single chart.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In addition to quickly following the status of the most important KPIs of the product, thanks to Amplitude, it is possible to discover usability or performance problems thanks to the analysis of user usage patterns.
Analytics made simple

The simplicity of the product, the almost infinite possibilities it offers, the fact that you can track your events live using your app is game changer.
What do you dislike about the product?
UX could sometimes be better, like when editing a notebook for example. The loading time when having multiple graphs can be a bit long at times too.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Understanding how users interact with my apps, improving conversion and retention.
Easy to understand and very powerful to use
What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude makes it easier to understand our users' behaviors and make predictions of future behaviors.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much I don't like about Amplitude.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving the problem of understanding what parts of the app our users use most.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a good tool for all the tracking needs. However, the interface is slow at times.
Cuts down the analytics / MIS time by one tenth. Unlocks deep insights
What do you like best about the product?
Retention, engagement playbooks deepdives. Ease of getting a question answered very quickly. Ability to create clear/compelling notebooks that represent insights
What do you dislike about the product?
Some functionalities are not present in all analysis cuts, although it is doable by workarounds.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Unlocking growth hacks around product adoption and engagement. Have figured out journeys that were leading the users to dead ends. Have been able to figure out some retention and churn drivers and have accordingly changed our product roadmap.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Besides a very versatile product, they have a good support/training as well. Highly recommended for any product organization looking to deepdive into user behaviors and build from there. Other suites like omniture/google pale in comparison
