Powerful analytics tool
What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude Analytics is a very powerful tool. I can see the performance of all our products in one place and this saves us a lot of time and money. It's very fast and it can present or refresh our very large analytics data in just a couple of seconds. It's also so easy to integrate.
- All the features that we needed are available in Amplitude but some of them are paid add-ons and most of them aren't cheap.

Great tool for non-technical users, enables self serve analytics at scale
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to use the tool, no special training is required and anyone can use it, even if they have no experience in analytics. It helps to generate insights at scale and promotes data democratization.
In addition, the innovation pace from Amplitude is great, features are released on a regular basis

What do you dislike about the product?
It's hard to manage the data at scale, it's hard to find the events, attributes, and cohort which are not used and delete them proactively on a regular basis

Review by Amplitude's Long Time User
What do you like best about the product?
The UI is user friendly. Ability to do detail analysis using all of the available pre-built charts. Excellent and supportive Customer Success Manager and also support team.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the dashboard takes a long time to load or finish the query/filter.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Speed and agility to analyze the data in order to make informed decisions about the feature/product. It helps me uncover area that I need to improve in the feature/product.
Great user experience but prices and packages are not flexible for sending a huge amount of events.
What do you like best about the product?
User experience, is great and really easy to use
What do you dislike about the product?
Is not scalable, for example there is no integration with data bases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Analyzing user behaviour, define pricing and possible results for marketing campaigns and explore the viability to launch a new feature
Amplitude is a very helpful tool to analytics!
What do you like best about the product?
That Amplitude has real-time analytics so you can know what is happening during any moment of the day. Is very easy to use, I think a new person in the platform with a very simple intro could understand how to begin and work with all the easy-level things.
What do you dislike about the product?
The chart interface definitely could be better, you can't select the size of the axis or change the colors, things like that would be very helpful for customizing the dashboard to take a single screen and used in any presentation. The filters in the dash could be better too, in order to customize the dashboard. Export data option for example, if you have a conversion of X/Y=Z and yo export de data, you'll only have Z not the X and Y factors too, that would be helpful, and in my opinion, it could be awesome if you could export the complete data set, for example, all the rows in the data set with the same filters that you applied.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Analytics, number of events: understand the traffic in the app, conversion: how we are doing at the user level, and the option of filter/group by city and country level. Also, user look-up is an incredibly useful tool to understand which events are logging while you are using the app, that is so helpful in order to understand the entire funnel, evens logging, properties, etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Is easy to use, don't fear!
Amplitude is easy to use and the learning curve is not that steep.
What do you like best about the product?
I am a developer, Analytics is not my strong side. I required minimal training for this and now I can create my own dashboards for every new feature I deploy. It's great getting immediate feedback on what the App's users are doing. The unique users chart mixed with the event tracking is what we use for every feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish we could add a description to the events. Sometimes the name of the event is not clear enough to know the source or the circumstances under which it was tracked. I would also love a dark theme on the website :)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All of our A/B Tests are tracked with Amplitude. Knowing the actions that are taken by users on different buckets is great. We have discovered some interesting side effects on parts of the app we hadn't touched in years. All of this was thanks to how we create our dashboards with Amplitude..
Amplitude review
What do you like best about the product?
It is simple to use. Data are graphed in a way that is easy to understand. Dashboard is a great functionality to organize information and charts. User session is a great feature to see how long user spend on the mobile app. User path is definitely useful, especially to visualize the user journey; however, it is somehow hard to visualize if there are many options after a specific actions.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no way to compare data from different projects. There is no information to find out who the admins are for projects so it took time to get added to a project in a big org. If possible, it would also be great to ingest other data such as financial data to plot.
We also need a way to measure the time users spend between actions. For example, it would be good to know how long users take to perform action B after performing action A.
We also need to a quicker way to get to user account page to see user properties when analyzing graph.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are trying to understand users' behavior on our product. We need to see the data to prioritize roadmap and features and to justify on investments. We also use it to optimize on marketing plan to see what segment of users are the power users.
Must-have tool for PMs, Marketing, and Growth
What do you like best about the product?
It's incredibly powerful and doesn't require any knowledge of SQL. There's deep insights into events, retention rates, cohort and A/B analyses, and more. The team at Amplitude are former PMs and marketers, and you can see their intent to expose insights and outcomes in the product. It's super easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much really, it's the best tool in the biz.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Product analytics, A/B testing, marketing campaign results, and building cohorts for marketing purposes.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you cleanly name everything. Use Amplitude's event convention recommendations according to their docs for best results.
Nice-to-have product exploration tool
What do you like best about the product?
Pre-aggregated data, which grants fast loading speed. Instantaneous saving of analyses with a fixed link that can be referenced by other colleagues. Cross-platform tracking of individual users.
What do you dislike about the product?
Issues with events are not directly noticeable. Historical data is immutable, so gaps in data will remain forever. Not complete data for website visitors, because it depends on cookie consent. Tracking of marketing sources on mobiles is difficult because Google/Apple/Facebook no longer provide accurate data to third-party platforms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A/B test analysis. Download users and match with database. Conversion and retention funnels.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Useful when you have same users across different platforms. Useful when needed to track user actions on the website.
Best analytics tool I've used
What do you like best about the product?
The platform is super easy to navigate and pick up for new people
Amplitude is a codeless platform, so it's not hard for non-engineers to use
There comes with pre-set templates which was super helpful for me to get started. Especially on key metrics such as Retention
There are so many customizations that it helps you dig in very deep to user behaviour that you otherwise might miss

cohorting feature needs to be improved - not well thought out just yet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
key user behaviours such as rentention and activity. measuring growth and reaction after new feature releases
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do it. It's truly user friendly and will provide your team with insights and data on many behaviours you never expected. Everytime you have a question you can easily pull it up to answer everything!
One thing I would say is ask who on your team needs to view these analytics. On one hand it is helpful for transperency and everyone to know but pricing wise it may make more sense to add the users who are behind the wheel for making key decisions. I would say Product, Engineering and Marketing need these insights for sure.
If you're a smaller startup, I also suggest you to get Amplitude set up immediately from the getgo. I've seen teams switch from Mixpanel afterwards because Amplitude is simply more powerful and easy to use. Save yourself the trouble and start right with Amplitude.
