The product you need to understand your customer
What do you like best about the product?
The chart creation and it's data visualization are amazing. Easy to use and understand. Also the academy they have is great to learn the how to, but also the why.
What do you dislike about the product?
The identify event is actually not an event and I would like to use as event.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
What are the journey a customer is doing and how can I tweak their experiences to improve conversions.
Invaluable tool for analyzing product usage data
What do you like best about the product?
Reports are very intuitive. I can quickly modify them to get the data I need.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wonder if there's a way for the team that owns events in Amplitude to mark those that are no longer in use, or are experimental - for the teams downstream using the Analytics not to second-guess if the event is still valid.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use product usage data for better customer segmentation.
Using it in my 2 of my startups - One word to say, I can't think my product lifecycle without it
What do you like best about the product?
One thing I would like to describe to be best is, as far as I see this is best option available for startups to measure their product and analyse to improve. I would like to give out my best here below,
1. I use the amplitude events to backtrack my user's flow in the events timeline, in case of any issues. I use it as an alternative to sentry as I couldn't afford it there. So it's both my product metrics & error source detection tool.
2. User's lifecycle chart is the most needed for me, to see who are they dormant users and I export the user list and segment them. So that I could see, how my future versions or campaigns impact only the particular segment. By this way, even though I couldn't afford behavioural cohorts, I work around the issue partly.
I have been using it for maybe 2 years now & I could say it's key to my product decisions.

What do you dislike about the product?
I have onboard the team members, one think is that they find hard to understand as the product has some steep learning curve. Even I had to force myself for the steep learning curve, don't know but I find Mixpanel better in this part to adopt easily. I like Mixpanel's way of educating people on this, which I felt amplitude lags a bit.
Formulas to select users in the charts are sometimes confusing for me, need to try out the alternatives to clear things out.
I hope this should be a bug - When I tried to alter values in events or users in my saved charts, sometimes chart get changed even though I didn't click save button. I hope the changes I made are only temporary & I expect it to be not saved.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. Error source detection by events timeline
2. User composition based on geographic & devices
3. Retention analysis
4. Exporting dormant or active users to schedule external campaigns in-app or mail
Charts are much useful to keep track of metrics over time within the team

Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are a startup, this is the best product out there to validate your assumptions. Make sure to spend some time & understand the metrics to get most out of it.
Great tool to understand how people engage with your app and to retain them
What do you like best about the product?
A lost of built-in charts, visualization are very powerful
What do you dislike about the product?
The level a personalization is sometimes limited, so it would be great offer more flexibility in the chart creation
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Knowing what your users do, when, how often, etc... And how to optimize your app in order to offer the best experience
Works great for quick analysis and product analytics
What do you like best about the product?
I can answer questions to help make decisions very quickly and easily (compared to using SQL to do the same). The loading time is extremely quick for charts and simple UI makes analytics easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Doing very complex analysis is more difficult with amplitude than using SQL. I wish we could customize the colours in the charts to match our branding.
We have also had issues with amplitude experiment data being accurate which makes it difficult to make decisions

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for product analytics. We would have a lot of difficulty understanding our funnel conversion without amplitude. This allows us to prioritize work, and evaluate the performance of different completed projects.
The overall experience of Amplitude is great, but there some few things that should be considered
What do you like best about the product?
The way you can manipulate and visualize data, select segments, and filter by them. Also, disabling events and afterward being able to filter by only active events is one feature to recommend. Being able to see the whole picture of a funnel and understand what happens where is also crucial and beneficial for us when analyzing pain points in the app and how we can improve them. Also, when analyzing the data I can understand how an event happened.
What do you dislike about the product?
That segments are not refreshed automatically. For us that we have several graphs and funnels containing the same segment is more difficult to keep each one updated. It would be nice if we could just simply update the segment and it would update the changes in all the charts that include it. The feature can be similar to git changes because some segments can be modified, it would be nice if instead of reverting all the changes and going back to the parent's segment, it will only update the fields which were updated, relative to additions or substractions.
Another thing that I don't quite like is that you can't do advanced filtering features (for example: I want to filter by people that have tried the current version since X date).

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Analyzing surveys like funnels, normal charts, conversion rates, and more. Is dynamic and in most cases, you can download all the information and manipulate it as a CSV file.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Is a great product to use and I would recommend it.
Small setup, big info
What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude helps me understand customer behaviour, monitor experiments, and share progress with our team. The customer support is nice as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Onboarding is not as simple as it seems, but customer support is there along the way to help out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're proving the success of feature releases, organizing data for presentations, and able to communicate to the team more quickly and visually. Amplitude helps us track down and isolate issues with customer experience on both sides, and make decisions on how to move forward.
I think Amplitude is a great tool , the interface is fluent and instinctive.
What do you like best about the product?
The creation of event segmentation and funnel analysis charts feels immediatly familiar and allows quickly display needed information.
What do you dislike about the product?
I had a hardtime finding documentation about the syntax of formulas. I also feel there is a lack of onboarding regarding more advanced features. The management of items ownership could also be improved. To modify a chart, one needs to ask for the modification rights to do so. It's often been a lost of time/ bottleneck in our organisation.
I also prefered the previous interface that didn't require a click to open the menu. The new one requires an additional click to perform most interactions. It's more adapted to small screens though which is a good point but in my case, most of the time when I'm working on Amplitude, I'm using a wide screen and don't necessarly need layout thinked to optimize space on the interface. I'd rather have it optimized to make the experience as fluid as possible.
Finally I'd like to setup alerts when some specific conversion rates go below a certain level. It may be possible, I haven't looked into it yet but it's not obvious to me for now.

It allows me to follow very precisely the conversion rates and user behaviours on our site. And so, when deploying a new feature or improvement, we're easily able to provide a post implementation analysis based on data.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have a need of easing the monitoring of user behaviours on your platform, I'd say without hesitating you should go for Amplitude Analytics.
Best product analytics tools for Product Managers
What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Amplitude Analytics for a long time and they have any many types of analysis tools required for me to accurately measure my business performance
What do you dislike about the product?
The downside of Amplitude is that to access a much richer analysis, you need to upgrade to a premium plan. The plans however are quite expensive and it would be nice if they have startup package
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used Amplitude to understand how our users behave in our apps. What actions that they performed, how is their customer journey, what is our user segmentation. All those answers can be answered with Amplitude and I can optimize my app appropriately.
Another thing that I did not like is that to properly use Amplitude Analytics, it will take some amount of time to master including experimenting with the app and reading the documentation throughtly. I have to teach the business users many times on how to use the Amplitude analytics properly so it can support their business needs.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend others to read the documentation and setup guide for Amplitude analytics. It is a very strong tools and you can get a lot insights by mastering it. However, the learning curve is definitely not easy and it will take some time to understand how it works. Generally, if you are coming from tech background, it should be easier to understand the technical terms and you will have better learning curve
Easy peasy
What do you like best about the product?
I like the simplicity of the tool. I can easily set up individual boards and don't have to reset the filters every week to view the same report.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really, it's an intuitive tool for my non-analytical self.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm learning about how often our users access our app, and export the usage reports to our paying clients.
