Excellent analytics but with major taxonomy pains
What do you like best about the product?
All analytics is quite easy to use and you can really analyse a lot of different things - generally you are only limited by your event structure
What do you dislike about the product?
The only way to get anything out of Amplitude is by having a good event structure and that depends hugely on developers - which is a massive blocker
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Understanding how users interact with product recommendations - it was an easy way to get visibility quickly

Amplitude is a tool to analyse your product - if you don't have clear goals or skills to actually carry this out, you will be wasting your time

When you get the hang of it it is pretty easy to use

A bit pricy for companies that are just starting to discover the power of product analytics

understanding of how our users are interacting with our products and where our biggest opportunities lie
Pretty handy, lacks some basic features and simple explanations of some complex features sometimes
What do you like best about the product?
Personally, I, as a product monetization manager, use funnels and event segmentation (mostly group by + horizontal bar) charts. Also, dashboards are pretty useful
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to recommend you:
- to improve dashboard UX: add a categorization feature (a simple divider + label would be enough), add some metrics on the dashboard charts (there is a feature for this, but sometimes it is unavailable - when I break my funnel down, for example)
- to add a row sum for an event segmentation chart - it's ridiculous that there is no such an option
- explain how do time filters for "performed and event" conditions work in the user segmentation module

I use it for analytics to gather valuable insights. This question is pretty obvious though

Amplitude is great, but not as intuitive as I would like

Amplitude is excellent for visualizing trends in user behavior quickly.

The information often feels to be inconsistent, probably because it's an event-based platform.
Also, sometimes I find it hard to find out how to visualize a conceptual idea I have.

Charts are not great for sharing. It is missing some customizations to show data points.

Identify the impact a feature launch has on the overall product. Amplitude has helped track high-level metrics and user actions.

hard to know which exact amplitude event corresponds to in the UI without navigating out of amplitude

tracking a/b tests, quickly analyzing product event data
Recommendations to others considering the product:
great for nuanced product reporting, analysts alone can't independently support amplitude setup - it requires data eng and data science to be involved
An excellent choice for product analytics
What do you like best about the product?
Their APIs and SDKs are easy to use - it's easy to get going. They offer a wide variety of analysis tools, which are all very performant. The customer support and documentation are excellent. They provide great resources about product analytics best practices, which are easy to implement in their tool. For scenarios not supported by Amplitude, they make it easy enough to export data into S3 or relational databases. Amplitude is investing heavily in product development, so the tools continue to improve all the time.
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes time to transition to Amplitude for the SQL-native. There are enough gaps in capabilities that it doesn't completely replace the need for relational databases with product analytics for some analyst or data science scenarios.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Amplitude has been invaluable for us to understand and track the usage of features across our product quickly and at scale. It has truly democratized data at Qualtrics. Their stickiness and retention tools also make it easy to understand how this usage maps to outcomes we care about.
Easy to use analytics engine
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use GUI with integrations to Google Suite and other tools to allow me to work more productively.
What do you dislike about the product?
Fragmented nature of tools means that I have to switch modules to get the answers that I'm looking for.

Funnel metrics for our app. Feature utilization and better understanding of how our users interact with the app.
