Well build software that is easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
It allows the non-engineering users to setup analysis without further help. Unlike some competitors, you don't need engineer to setup points in the code in order to track analytics.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some advanced feature is sold as an add-on rather than part of the core package.
The data set is anonymized, so it is hard to track a specific user if I want to. (Or maybe I am not looking at the right place)

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use heap mainly to track feature usage rates to determine the level of usage of individual features. The analysis helps us decide whether to invest more in an area or change/deprecate an area.
Other team members will use Heap to track the user journey, albeit, given the complexity of our software, this gets quite messy from a mapping perspective.

Excellent tool for creating user friendly reports!
What do you like best about the product?
This is the most robust and easy-to-use analytics tool. It is so powerful for our product teams and really does a great job creating useful, easy-to-understand dashboards and charts. Also, Heap University has fantastic resources!
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be tricky to get all of the exact events set up in Heap if you don't have a Data Engineer to code things where you need to go. Not every piece of data you want to collect requires that, but it is beyond the scope of most product managers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Self-servicing dashboard and analytic reviews. Data can be overwhelming, but Heap charts/graphs/dashboards make it easy to pull data together and actually be able to understand it.
Fantastic, retrospective analytics on-demand
What do you like best about the product?
Once you get the hang of it - there's a bit of a learning curve - Heap is a fantastic platform to gain insight into your platform. Most importantly, data is collected from Day 1 - even if the event hasn't been defined, unlike other platforms. This is really useful as requests for analysis often ask for things you haven't been actively tracking.
What do you dislike about the product?
It does take you a little bit to understand the platform and to get up to speed with how everything is structured. Luckily, there's the 'Heap Academy' which has been a really helpful resource.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
User journeys throughout both our Marketing site and actual platform. Understanding the bottlenecks that prevent customers from registering, then converting on our platform.
Super easy and out-of-the-box analytics tool
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of creating events and dashboards with dev support required
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing I can think of other than it can get pricey if you want to track 3rd party data sessions too
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Understanding user journey and critical paths without having to spend lots of time creating events and dashboards
Heap Review
What do you like best about the product?
The auto-capture feature is amazing. Has saved us lots of implementation time.
It's very easy in collaboration and generally a very good tool compared to others i have used for web analytics

What do you dislike about the product?
Some visualisation capabilities could be better. Also, account-level reporting could be improved.
Lately, some reports with many segments and filters take a long to load

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The issue of tracking and the need to add custom events.
Quick to implementation and insight.
Gives us visibility to areas we hadn't before.
We can take more informed decisions now.

The best tool suite for product analytics
What do you like best about the product?
It's simple to integrate with for all our engineers, then querying that data is straight forward and requires no technical expertise. Everyone in the business is able to see our dashboards and write queries about our product themselves.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like some more advanced query options - e.g. the ability to write my own SQL-style syntax to really create bespoke dashboards. Especially using the metadata fields that we provide to Heap.
Also the heirarchy of information can be confusing - we use heap as a multi product company and often events get confused with each other.
Also the heirarchy of information can be confusing - we use heap as a multi product company and often events get confused with each other.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Heap helps us understand who are our main users, what those users do and how often they do it. We can easily see the quantitative results of shipping a feature and how that drives our metrics.
Helpful seeing attribution for digital channels.
What do you like best about the product?
All the different reports you can build.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not sure how accurate numbers are, but that could be due to things on our end.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Seeing the impact different digital channels have on business.
Every feature you need
What do you like best about the product?
I used to look for different apps in order to keep track of quantitative and qualitative usage data analytics. Heap has proven to be the one tool that combines all my needs; I'm glad that they are constantly widening their offers and providing features that I need so I can not use heap instead of a multitude of different apps.
What do you dislike about the product?
Since the features are constantly being rolled out, you could find yourself in a not-so-optimal trial version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used to use different apps for usage analytics, but heap really strives to combine all features into one singular product.
Great experience creating dashoards
What do you like best about the product?
Lots of different types of charts and options makes everything easier, and also the suggestions or the auto-select on the chart type when you filter or add your data
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it's difficult to update the data from the filters you add. If you try to use the date range the data never got filtered right at least in my case
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Doing some comparisons for AB tests inside our products, so we create charts and dashboards to see results in a better way
Heap for Product Managers
What do you like best about the product?
As a product owner, I've always believed in the "if you build it, you should measure it" approach. We've tried many analytics platforms, but having all your data in one place and giving product managers the tools to create dashboards, funnels, and views of their data is very important.
What do you dislike about the product?
Understanding how to link Heap to other incumbent analytics platforms. As we transition all of our analytics to Heap, we still need to be able to access data in our current platform and need to connect.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have three audiences, our internal team, including executives who need to know how our customers are using our platform. Second, our platform team needs to understand how the platform is performing. Finally, we have the app developers who need to know how their app is performing. Heap helps us with all three audiences.
