The Analytics tool you need!

  • October 06, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- One feature that places Heap way above other tools is the auto-capture feature. Sometimes, we realize tracking a particular event for a funnel which we had not started tracking to start with, the auto-capture feature is already capturing the data, making use of css selectors to just define them and use as we go.
- Heap is super easy to setup and manage. Even the product marketers in our team can drive the entire effort of setting it up although some server-side events do need knowledge of where to place them in our code. Also, the feature of sharing reports within the team comes in really handy.
- The interface is really intuitive and they have done good effort at keeping things simple. Google analytics for that matter can become a bit overwhelming for starters.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would love a feature to run our own queries on the data we have already tracked. Sometimes, the graph feature is not enough for us to drive meaningful insights. Things like mean/median mode can be a real boost to the graph feature which as of now only supports calculating min/max/average etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We try to understand how well a given functionality in our application is adopted. We leverage the data to do experiments on the growth front. Creating relevant funnels to understand how well new features lead to revenue for the product.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Heap is an excellent data capture platform with minimal learning curve. If you’re not taking data driven decisions in your product, you’re missing out on understanding who your consumers are and what do they want. I would highly recommend using Heap for your analytics need.

Perhaps the most powerful weapon in the marketer's software stack

  • October 06, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Heap's design and functionality are beautifully empathetic and user-centric. As a marketer, I remember the first time I set it up and it didn't take me more than 20 minutes to start making sense of the data.
What do you dislike about the product?
They can do much more with resources and tutorials about creating key reports for different business use cases. They have started suggesting prebuilt reports but can have more specific funnels and graphs for key KPIs
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are adopting a regular experimentation framework and heap comes into play to make sure the experiments are measured well and the revenue attribution is clearer with the reports and funnels. It also helps us track different conversion funnels through the buyer journey
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make a habit of defining all key events and funnels in heap and checking on them regularly. The insights are powerful and they can act as a great source of product improvements and bug fixes. For marketers, the reporting is clutter free and super granular.

Best Analytics Tool for User Behavior Analytics

  • September 06, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The simplicity of getting all the information about user behavior on our applications with few lines of code!
I have used other analytics tool, but the analysis and reporting in this portal are way easy than the other.
Loved the reports that can be generated based on our business requirement. Also, the predefined events reduced out work much less.
What do you dislike about the product?
Initially, I found little difficulty in adding custom-defined properties, events and generating reports. But with support from I could go through it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For us, it's more of usage of application and completion of the task our application is of. With Heap, we can get reports on how users are traversing without applications and help us in refining the user experience or feature to improve the business.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The Heap is a simple and very good tool for analytics

Easy effective insights

  • September 04, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Very little code embedding required, once data is being collected on the site it will always be there. The graphs and charts help you easily analyse and interpret the data from lots of angles and makes reporting to management about design changes easier as there is information to back it up.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface can be a little buggy and slow. There's no overview to see all the events you have created in one place and the text search is limited - it should pick out words in the middle of titles.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Usability problems, benefits in being able to report back to management with confidence

Removes bottlenecks and onus on technical teams

  • September 04, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Product teams can implement and analyse everything themselves, from event implement through to charts and exports. Every interaction with the DOM auto-captured is a very nice safety net to know is always in place.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing as yet. More integrations would always be nice.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reduces amount of time required for engineers to implement tagged event tracking, and reduces the onus on data teams and write raw SQL for reporting. All of this now sits in the remit of product teams (or anyone else). More time spent on analysis than writing reports.

Great analytics even for the marketing noob!

  • September 03, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Very user-friendly and intuitive interface
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm not a marketer, so I don't understand all the KPIs. It would make it even better to have tool tips for all the fields to tell the user what the field is useful for. I suppose marketers would know what they're doing!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Trying to understand my traffic and usability of my website to figure out where the bottlenecks are.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great software!!

Heap Review

  • September 03, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it fills in the gaps in data that my team and I may have not set up from the start. I also like that Heap offers much more flexibility than using only GA.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far, I have not found anything that I dislike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Setting up funnels as well as looking at user behavior.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
So far Heap has been an amazing addition for creating useful data as well as deriving insights that help my team make adjustments to our user flow and experience.

Great tool for get insights really fast

  • September 02, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Heap is really easy to setup with Segment (what we use) and allow our team to quickly get insights on events
What do you dislike about the product?
Really not much, you may feel a bit lost at the very start but once you build a couple of reports, it gets easier.
I'd really like to be able to be able to filter on event attributes when building funnels (currently I use "group by")
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mainly quickly build retention or funnel charts. We've also done some user path debugging.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure your data is setup correctly in heap, and start playing around with all the reportings. It's a bit scary at first but it gets super handful once you get a good mental picture of it.

Helping shape the future of our product one click at a time

  • August 30, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
flexible dashboards and the events visualiser

It's really helped me streamline the data overview of our platform.

The speed to generate reports and update queries is wonderfully fast.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would like to get sometimes more control over filtering options (hostnames), being able to duplicate reports to make more specific versions and small amendments we need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Getting an overview of platform and solving UI and UX issues.

Most important of all I get this data quickly and easily digestable.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a great tool which can deliver outstanding insight into you web app performance quickly and efficiently,

HEAP is Analytics made easy

  • August 30, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Virtually code-free implementation of analytics. As a non-tech user, I can easily configure events & set up dashboards for analysis our our product at a glance. It's the first few tabs I open each day in my browser.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's nothing much to dislike. I think accessing the HEAP Dashboard on mobile is not currently available? If basic pages like the dashboard (view only perhaps) can also be accessed through a web app it can be pretty useful when we are on the go.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Studying user interactions with our platform. Insight into user bottlenecks where we can work with users to improve design. What we learn through HEAP can guide our development work, so we don't build blind.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just get started. It's fuss-free and easy to start & keep continue using
