What do you like best about the product?
The best feature about Heap is that it is retrospective so you don't have to stress about setting up all events out of the box.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really enjoy using Heap as a whole; it's packed with useful and practical features. However, there is always room for further improvements and new features - one of which I would love to see is the ability to track totals with conversion without having to do it manually downstream. For example, seeing conversion between PDP and checkout, but also in the same report, which how many views of were there for those PDP's; CR between product A and checkout was 10% and there were 1000 sessions that viewed this product in the past X days.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Heap provides access/visibility into a user's journey and web behaviour that goes beyond the transaction. This makes it possible to segment groups of users based on usage such as frequency of visits, effective campaigns and sources, thus allowing me to target these customers in a more personable approach.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If anyone is looking for a web analytics tool that provides deeper insights and more accurate results than GA, Heap is the tool to use.

Tracks without me needing to & much easier than GA/GTM

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it's always tracking css-targeted clicks, even if I haven't defined actions yet. I like that it makes it really easy to create graphs, as a developer to show this to my Product Owner blew her away because I was able to show that a feature we added was only being used 25% of the time and we needed to make a change to get people using it - HEAP MAKES ME LOOK GOOD!
What do you dislike about the product?
I find it hard to work out where to go in the menu bar at the left. I mainly use reports, and define new actions. I get mixed up as to which primary menu item will show me my sub menu item.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use heap predominantly to work out how users ended up at an error page. I.e what steps they took so we can fix the bug.
I have used heap to track if a feature was a success or not. (Tracking user adoption)
I've used heap to prove that users found our menu items confusing because they were clicking between tabs to work out what was wrong.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it out, it will be doing more for you than you realise from the moment you install it in your app.

Heap works!

What do you like best about the product?
Great interface. Easy access to data. Helpful training.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's hard to navigate to saved pulls sometimes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Great way to make data more accessible through easy user interface.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure to demo it as much as possible and see if you feel that creating charts is intuitive. I felt that it was a bit of a learning curve.

Better than Heap & Mixpanel

  • October 20, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Combines the powers of HotJar and Heap into a single tool. It's much better at identifying users from sessions out of the box than either Heap or Mixpanel. We moved our survey from Iterable and into Auryc and increased the response rate by 800%
What do you dislike about the product?
The usability of existing features could be improved. I would like to see them build on the qualitative analysis side of things, as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking conversions, running intercept surveys, debugging issues with the user experience.

Raving fans at Cox Automotive

What do you like best about the product?
Auryc has been invaluable for our Research and Analytics team here at Cox Automotive. We've historically run a lot of analyses and A/B tests to quantify the "what" of user behavior and Auryc has really allowed us to begin to understand the "why" component that we had been missing.

The customer service with Auryc has been top-notch. Amod and team have always been there to demonstrate Auryc's capabilities or to run educational sessions. This has really allowed our Research & Analytics team to maximize the value we're getting out of this tool. The Auryc team has also flagged issues within our Google Analytics implementation that we did not know about.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would appreciate more permission flexibility, more of an emphasis on bookmarks within the UI.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As mentioned above, we've historically run a lot of analyses and A/B tests to quantify the "what" of user behavior and Auryc has really allowed us to begin to understand the "why" component that we had been missing. We've also been able to run cross-product A/B tests that historically have not been possible due to Google Analytics tracking limitations.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For session recording software, I really think Auryc outperforms the competition. Their customer service ensures your implementation and data collection is accurate and they bring up insights and issues our Research & Analytics team hadn't considered.

Auryc is the best - an invaluable tool for smart insights and campaign management

  • October 15, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Auryc integrates with Segment, so you can easily track events and behaviours by user trait, even better you can actually create events in Auryc directly which is really cool, and these can run along side Segment.
Setting up funnels, plus path and goal analysis means we can see how people are engaging with the site, download users lists for emails, and even watch session so we can see exactly what users are doing.
The best thing is the Auryc team are so easy to work with and always responsive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing - it's simpler than GA and the support team are much easier to work with. I would recommend Auryc everytime.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Seeing where people are dropping out of the conversion funnel, tracking performance by cohort. We have recently launched our site, but already working with Auryc has enabled us to improve conversion, optimise our registration flow, and directly contact customers who have lapsed.

Excellent, highly customizable analytical tool

  • September 08, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Heap is incredibly user friendly! As someone who'd used Google Analytics for years, I was a VERY quick convert to Heap as it was more intuitive and far more customizable. It quickly became absolutely indispensable as an analytical tool for our marketing, product, and data teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's easy to get information overload with Heap, and get disorganized quickly. I highly recommend developing a naming convention, information architecture, and distinguishing read and write users from the start. We did not do that and now have many duplicate events/segments, old events, and general disorganization. Luckily, it's very easy to follow definitions, but it's messier than I'd like.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Heap for all website analytics - it's our primary data source for conversion funnels and AB tests. Plus we use it for countless ad hoc analysis.

Heap is a current generation analytics tool.

  • September 02, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Heap is great because it allows us to measure many categories of things (like clicks) using retroactive analysis. Basically that means that it sends data about every single click up to Heap from the browser, so that you can retroactively query "did anyone do _____?" (or more accurately, "when someone did ____ what were all the circumstances of those pageviews, sessions, and people") and it can tell you.

It's also good just as a replacement for dreadful apps like google analytics - whose overly complex UI has not gotten better in the past 18 years or so that it's been around. It does all the things you probably expect it to but requires way less screwing around to get it done.
What do you dislike about the product?
* Data governance rules can't be enforced (and aren't shown as dropdowns, rather just as suggestions) on renamed events so it's hard to move into a more organized world. This isn't a stumbling block at all for new users since you should turn on Data Governance from the beginning now that it exists - so don't let this bug you. I'm just hoping someone from Heap sees this and fixes it :)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Pretty much all the analytics functions, we do with Heap. It's a way better use of our money than paying for GA would have been.

Our source of truth

  • September 01, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
you can create your own events and segments, and parse data almost any way you want
the granularity you get in heap is unparalleled. for instance, in google analytics, your mostly seeing last click data and and that heavily favors google advertising, but in heap, you can choose if you want to filter by initial referrer etc, much easier and this gives you a better picture of how your marketing channels are actually performing.

We also use VWO for site AB testing and you can port those tests into heap to get test results that way, which has been huge for us
What do you dislike about the product?
its kind of hard to come into the platform and start working, there are a lot of events and segments in there and its hard to know if you are looking at the right thing. a lot of this is from other people creating definitions, historical definitions, and porting in shopify data which requires one to understand each definition's meaning in shopify. with a few uses you get used to it!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- conversion rate and where it can be improved at various steps of the funnel
- whether a marketing channel is actually contributing to revenue...platforms always report higher numbers than is actually true and incremental, and heap is a more conservative source of truth
- better analytics for AB testing on site, we use VWO and data is limited and not as strong there...heap makes its easy to analyze these test results
- for marketing channels that dont have as much tracking capability, we use UTM parameters and heap to track performance
Recommendations to others considering the product:
use it!! i think its really great
