Unmatched Flexibility and Excellent Training Resources
What do you like best about the product?
Anaplan is a very flexible tool which allows you to create practically any model you want. The training courses are available online and they are very well structured
What do you dislike about the product?
Anaplan may be an easy platform to learn, but a difficult one to master. Releasing its full potential may be difficult without an experienced architect or a model builder
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Anaplan is great for almost any use case: Workforce, FP&A, Supply Chain, Demand Planning.. Anaplan allows to see all updates in real time compared to offline excel spreadsheets
Effortless to Use, Lightning-Fast Implementation and Integration
What do you like best about the product?
I would say the best about Anaplan is that it's easy to use and to learn. It's also really fast to implement new functionnalities, thanks this easiness and also the way of handling a project with the Agile methodology.
What is also good is the speed of the calculations with large data I would say, if the model has been well developed.
It's also pretty easy to integrate with other ERP or other systems thanks to native connectors and Anaplan Connect or APIs.

What do you dislike about the product?
The fact that you can do pretty much everything in Anaplan can lead to bad developments, with no following from Anaplan team regarding what the partners are developing within clients ecosystem. I would like them to be more challenging on their partner and do reviews on their own of the models made, not only at the demand of the clients or the partner.
Customer support is pretty reactive but often misses the point when subjects are complicated.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reconciliating large numbers of data, ability to have a connected tool for all the users where their input can be reflected across all the model.
Great reactivity, possibility to handle multi^ple scenarios of forecasting with numbers of different parameters, good and ergonomic UX, and a lot of possibility regarding security and users access

The flexibility, scalability, and connectivity. Due to the ease of implementing, more use-cases can be added on as you go along.

The flexibility can make for a challenge, due to the variety of options available.

Reduces manual work, errors, and time spent planning drastically, freeing up valuable time for value-adding activities which increasing accuracy.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Anaplan for sales compensation. Our old process was spreadsheet based - so it was very fragmented, manual, and difficult to maintain. This often led to inconsistencies, errors, and a lack of visibility for both admins and end users. We also lacked proper access controls for sensitive compensation data.. With Anaplan, we’ve been able to centralize our data, standardize our calculations, and streamline our process better. The platform has brought greater accuracy and transparency for our end ours on how compensation is calculated and communicated.

Anaplan helps bring all planning activities into one connected platform. It removes manual Excel work, ensures real-time data accuracy, and makes collaboration across teams much easier. Overall, it speeds up decision-making and gives better visibility into business performance

What do you like best about the product?
Anaplan is best tool for Financial planning. Anaplan gives you the flexibility to design the solution based on the organizations requirement. It is very flexible as we start from scratch and we dont have any rigid prebuilt template that we have to follow. It is very easy to use

The reporting functionality in Anaplan leaves much to be desired.

Anaplan is helping in standardizing the process across organization. It gives an easy view of the reports to the management which were spread across multiple excel sheets.

What do you like best about the product?
The scalability and flexibility. Any business process for a multitude of use cases (FPA, SPM, WFM, Call Center Planning, etc.) that can be dreamed up can be implemented in Anaplan

There is a large push to out of the box applications so increase time to value. I understand why this makes sense as not every company has the funds and capacity to implement a tool from scratch, but Anaplan has been very successful help companies implement the business process that fits them best.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
At my company, we rely on it to monitor our staffing across projects, track project margins, forecast deliverables, and handle many other tasks. It serves as a central hub where everyone can see how we are progressing toward our goals and where any issues can be flagged. This setup has made my job much easier, as project managers can update their own items without needing my constant involvement, ensuring I always have access to the most current reports I need.

Downsides of Anaplan revolve around the time needed to certify users around the platform, lack of automated connectors with other EPM tools and lack of customization for the reports 9even though this area has shown great improvement in recent years with many interesting items on the pipeline).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Anaplan has allowed us to integrate different data sources into the same engine, thereby implementing a real connected planning, shortening planning times by 50% and centralizing the template.
Powerful Calculations, But Definite Learning Curve for Excel Users

Immediate calculations across multiple dimensions and modules

This software is not as user-friendly for those familiar with Excel as the advertising suggests. It requires a significant amount of training to use effectively.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The software offers the ability to calculate projections for multiple sales scenarios across numerous royalty contracts with complex terms, all at the same time and within a secure environment. Its scalability is also a significant advantage.

> As an long time implementation partner of Anaplan , can definitely vouch for its native cloud system where it is built for ease of implementing building of models as well as intuitive and collaborative UX features which make business users understand and use Anaplan efficiently
> Latest features like workflow and ADO have been incorporated which allows data management and loading in house leading to greater data quality loaded into models and also managing tasks like approvals and automation easily
> Vast customer support portal and community wherein there are new ideas as well as readily available solutions

> In initial phase can be a bit tricky to get around especially for users with new /limited experience
>Essentially a planning tool , not data and BI tool completely so for BI features , need to link to external tools for rich reports and charts although new UX provide great options

> FP&A - inherently a EPM tool meant for financial planning and analysis , there are a variety of features to manage financial planning like versions for scenario management , time base functions to calculate forecast plan based on actuals
