What do you like best about the product?
Akamia is an industry leader in WAF solutions and their DDOS protection is one of the best services in terms of configuration, very low latency issue, high availability, and cost
their WAF is also integrated with various AST solutions to protect assets and apply patches temporary by integration with AST
Their account takeover protection is also provide advance protection with spoofing attacks

What do you dislike about the product?
Akamia App and API security is a little bit complex to configure and needs some changes in an existing production environment plus minor changes in code and there are some latency issues in production during high traffic
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Akamia provides multiple solutions in a single basket (App and API security, DDOS protection, and account takeover protection), the best thing about Akamia is we can easily integrate it with various application security tools to create rules as soon as a vulnerability is reported so it will act as a temporary patch
It's way costly but definitely worths the price
What do you like best about the product?
Our best alternative for content delivery network is Akamai after Cloudflare. We have a lot of customers for those we have developed custom software, and on each case, Akamai has given us precisely what we need. Also it is quick and simple to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Akamai's preliminary configuration is hard to understand, and the API is difficult to implement. We also encountered initial issues with large pictures and videos struggling to load, which demanded extra development work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use this for Streaming mainly, one of our clients has an online image editing tool, which requires heavy transfers of stock images. We use Akamai for enterprise use only, it offers a robust API to scale and a better solution category.
Best tool for cache clear process
What do you like best about the product?
It helps to cache clear for CDN and is able to generate the traffic reports and block the unwanted IP. it helps to do the load test, performance testing, and optimize for the mobile and web user
What do you dislike about the product?
A little bit lagging for support as well as alert.

cleared the akamai cache to reflect the content in the website immediately

Edge level Caching, Routing based on cookies, origin & host headers, SSL Offloading, Application Security at EDGE, etc

What do you like best about the product?
For high traffic sites you want your pages to be cached. Akamai does a good job at that. Also they do great at protecting your site against any attack like DDoS or phishing attack.
Recently launched feature of fast purge is nice as it purges lage under 5 seconds

What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes purging pages don’t go through. It very rarely happens but that’s the only thing I noticed.
The UI of the site can use some clean up as well.

What do you like best about the product?
First, a disclaimer: I am a product/project manager, not an expert in CDNs and cloud hosting, so I cannot comment on deeply technical aspects of the Akamai ecosystem. But having used Akamai as a CDN on several highly-trafficked global websites, I have always had a good experience of Akamai as a robust, highly sophisticated system to ensure resilient global delivery.
I particularly appreciate the customer service provided from onboarding to operations, and the commitment to customer success. There is a structured process to take clients through the service, to ensure that configuration is managed correctly, and that all possible optimisations are adopted.
I have also found the Akamai online portal easy to use to execute simple configurations and purge the Akamai cache - simple enough for non-technical users such as myself to feel they have control over content appearing around the world.
I particularly appreciate the customer service provided from onboarding to operations, and the commitment to customer success. There is a structured process to take clients through the service, to ensure that configuration is managed correctly, and that all possible optimisations are adopted.

We use Akamai to deliver web content to large global audiences, taking the load off our origin servers and ensuring efficient, controlled content distribution.
The most recognizable CDN
What do you like best about the product?
Akamai has a large network of edge servers (they claim to be within 1 hop of 85% of users), and they do provide very fast load times to end users. They also provide some useful analytics about traffic and site visitors.
What do you dislike about the product?
Their console isn't very intuitive, and they are a little slow to provision resources behind the scenes - certificates can take days, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a good CDN, they reduce load on our servers and speed up delivery to the end user.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Akamai is a good CDN, but they are not very agile. You definitely have to plan out changes to your properties in advance.

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use and other tools that Akamai provide, such as Ion and Image Converter. They really leverage the concept of faster content delivery by providing great tools to optimize delivery and performance for end user.

Control panel is very ugly and sometimes hard to use. It really needs a better interface and become lightweight,

Caching content to provide a always available static website and usage of Akamai WAF to protect our endpoints.

Akamai has a great support and features. It is easy to configure and provide a lot of features to optimize not only content caching but also end user performance (view Akamai Ion). It is worth the price payed,

Akamai is our prefered choice for content delivery, we have a number of customer that we have written bespoke software for and every occasion Akamai has provided us with exactly what we want, it is easy to use and fast.
What do you dislike about the product?
The initial configuration of Akamai is difficult to understand and the API a bit difficult to configure. We also had initial problems with large images and videos failing to load, which required some additional development work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With writing bespoke software for a number of clients we wanted a solution that gave us all the requirements that could be used for every client requiring a CDN. Akamai provides this and so far it is the only one we use, making our development much easier.

Akamai is a great solution for providing delivery of content to your web applications, it is the product of choice and has fulfilled all our requirements. It makes storing and serving large amount of content much simpler than storing on your own servers
