The solution's use cases depend on the number of interfaces you want to monitor. You have to calculate the values by referring to the licensing prices publicly published on their portal.

The solution has excellent redundant features. It also allows you to install two systems in one license, which is really good.
What needs improvement?
When you email the support team, they take three to seven days to respond and resolve simple issues.

The solution’s stability is fantastic.

PRTG Network Monitor is a very scalable solution. If you have good hardware and a good server, you can scale it up as much as you want.

The solution’s initial setup is very straightforward and user-friendly.
What other advice do I have?
The software features, quality, manageability, and SLA system are fantastic. Based on my SLA, I can easily monitor and identify the service provider's bandwidth in real time. PRTG Network Monitor is a user-friendly solution.
The solution's integration is simple. You need to trigger the SNMP. It has two features. One is automatic detection, and the other is where you manually select and trigger your particular interface, and it should work. PRTG Network Monitor has some OID features in addition to network monitoring. If you know how to develop OID, the tool can work with other monitoring solutions.
PRTG Network Monitor is easy to manage, easy to use, and easy to operate.
Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.

It helps with being preemptive especially with the behavior warning feature. It gives a full overview of all IP devices.
A good monitoring solution for SMEs

Easy to install, configure, with a welcome ease in generating graphically successful dashboards, the PRTG solution can be deployed and integrated in less than half a day, even without being an IT expert. It installs on a Windows operating system.
Everything is designed so that in a few clicks you have your solution ready to use, and it is therefore perfectly suited to the world of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that do not necessarily have an IT team permanently available or wish for simplified deployments.

What do you dislike about the product?
Beyond a certain number of preconfigured sensors for software, manufacturers, or systems, it quickly becomes a hassle to create custom sensors that are adapted. The whole setup quickly encounters limitations if you are someone who is technically demanding or dealing with particular appliances or systems (custom scripts are a nightmare and it's often quicker to customize the SNMP of the system in question).
On the integration side, the API or external options are clearly behind the times, and the solution is therefore more designed to operate standalone rather than in a fully integrated environment.
As for performance, between the heavy sensors and the limitations of the file/configuration system, you will quickly need a high-performance setup or constant optimization to run more than 10,000 sensors.

PRTG is easy to deploy, update, and the large number of pre-configured sensors allow for the rapid deployment of dozens of probes and associated monitoring, thus enabling easy-to-implement and maintain supervision.

Another standout feature is its recommendation system, especially in the enterprise version, which helps optimize operations by automatically managing failovers. Additionally, the flexibility to customize data storage and the option to remove old data after a certain period is also essential for efficient resource management.

Improvements in data storage flexibility, such as allowing customers to specify data retention periods, would enhance PRTG. Additionally, implementing OID panels for wider device support, especially for devices like UPS network equipment lacking standard OID support, would be beneficial.

- The creation of the Dashboard is quite cumbersome as it is pure HTML, monitoring objects cannot be copied or pasted, I think this point can be improved.
- Monitoring SAP in an advanced way has an additional cost with another developer, which can be very expensive.

- Monitoring infrastructure is vital for business continuity, as good monitoring anticipates problems such as: high temperatures in equipment, hard drives that are on the verge of failure, among others. The monitoring service is responsible for alerting before they become a problem.

I used Nagios before, but it was outdated. PRTG, on the other hand, is incredibly easy to manage, develop, promote, and maintain. Nagios, being very old, is challenging to maintain.

The deployment process involves taking capacity, installing it on a server, applying the licenses, and then initiating a discovery of various categories. After that, monitoring the different aspects of the network. It's a relatively simple process, especially for monitoring defense and payroll records on uncomplicated networks. It was completed in two days. Maintaining the current setup is not challenging at all.

I see a significant return on investment due to the simplification of monitoring with PRTG. Problems are identified and resolved quickly. Before PRTG, it was challenging to detect and address issues promptly.

I use PRTG Network Monitor to monitor server and network environments in my company.
What is most valuable?
Most of the products either provide features for network monitoring or efficient server monitoring. There are different products for server monitoring when it comes to ManageEngine or SolarWinds, and there are different products for server monitoring. There are different metrics to consider when monitoring servers and networks. RTG Network Monitor gives me a complete picture of both the modules, which are server monitoring and network monitoring.
What needs improvement?
Technical support is an area with concerns in PRTG Network Monitor, where improvements are required. The product is very good, but its local presence in the Saudi Arabian market is unavailable.
I would like PRTG Network Monitor to introduce some security features for monitoring the security devices. The server and network monitoring functionalities in PRTG Network Monitor are very efficient. The security features of the product should provide the same level of efficiency as it provides for server and network monitoring so that its users or customers get all its features in a bundle.
