Great access to precollected data
What do you like best about the product?
As an academic partner, I really like the easy access to big datasets, like LinkedIn or Glassdoor, that can be used for analyses in papers. Instead of having to hire someone or collecting this data myself, you can simply download one of Bright Data's existing datasets. It makes life very easy! The data is quite clean and easy to navigate as well. The Bright Data team is also intent on making sure the data is used for a good purpose.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes there can be weird technical problems with downloading the data -- e.g., I was trying to select a filtered set of the LinkedIn data but it was causing issues, so I ended up just downloading the entire (unfiltered) dataset.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collecting big data can be messy and time-consuming. Bright Data already has existing datasets that we can download and get to analyzing quickly. This cuts out a lot of time and labor that would otherwise be expended.
Incredibly powerful, efficient, helpful data platform
What do you like best about the product?
I've been floored by the effectiveness of the Bright Data platform. As a co-founder of a non-profit, I qualified for their Bright Initiative and have used a number of their products (proxies, dataset marketplace, etc.) for several years now. We have had astonishing success using their proxies to collect web data for our research, and continuously rely on their ISP services to update our databases. The configurations are easy to use and integrate into our workflow, while the customer service every step of the way has been nothing short of exceptional.
What do you dislike about the product?
Bright Data has performed exactly as advertised.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Bright Data to help source governemnt data either from public websites. We've also used it to query large social media networks to supplement our investigations.

The web scraping tool is incredibly user-friendly. The intuitive interface allows even beginners to start scraping data with minimal effort. The implementation process is very efficient.
Customer support is excellent. They are always available to assist with any issues or questions, providing quick and effective solutions. Their responsiveness and expertise are truly commendable.

What do you dislike about the product?
Some websites are challenging to scrape due to lazy loading when using an IDE structure. However, this can be managed effectively with the use of Selenium and proxies.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Bright Data’s solutions have streamlined data collection processes, saving time and resources. The tool’s advanced scraping capabilities allow me to extract data from sites that use JavaScript, ensuring we get the most accurate and up-to-date information. Also, solved the need for reliable and diverse IP addresses to avoid being blocked or throttled by target websites.
Reliable API and great team
What do you like best about the product?
They did all the work, have set up our data collector for us, which was a real comfort. Everything works flawlessly, the API provides us with the expected report every time (we have a weekly cron job running, calling BrightData's collector). The team is present and checks in on us regularly. Overall this makes Brightdata's services a really high quality product.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't found anything to dislike yet :)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We need to keep a long list of domains up to date, with information like: is this domain up and running? Does it redirect to another domain? Is it a redirection from another domain? Is it active? Etc. Instead of having to develop our own tool for that (probably some complicated scraper), BrightData simply provides us with the information we need.
Comprehensive dataset with easy to use dashboard and supportive teams
What do you like best about the product?
The dataset is of high quality, well structured and easy to use. The team is really helpful and kind.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be much better if the data filter is more accessible.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am doing research focusing on labor market competition and its welfare impact. Bright Data provide me micro level detailed labor experience data and make my research possible and conveniencing to the academia.
Timely Assistance on Resolving Accidental Subscription Charges
What do you like best about the product?
After the project was completed, I forgot to unsubscribe, resulting in an erroneous deduction of several hundred US dollars. With the help of Bright Data platform and my account manager Foram Mehta, I successfully canceled the transaction and received a refund. Many thanks for Foram's assistance and the user-friendly policy of the bright data.

What do you like best about the product?
Daniel was great to work with to come up with a solution for my undergraduate class so we could acquire real world social media data. Data was acquired through the Data for Good Initiative.

Some responses can take a little longer but they always respond to my inquires and requests
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Acquiring social media data is becoming more and more diffcult with platforms reducing or charging access to their API tools. There is not enough time in the semester to teach students coding and scripting because we are Communication department. Bright Data's web scraping solution helps solve this problem by acquiring the social media data for my undergraduate class in a easy-to-use format.

What do you like best about the product?
I am regular user who uses BD every work day.
The best thing for me is the build in IDE which I can access from their webpage. They made scraping easy. The implementation of the code inside the IDE is very clear and suggestive, it is just writing pseudo code.
I would like to point out that the customer support is very good and that they got better over time. It seems to me that some of the people are really experts in their field (I dont know if GDPR is issue here, but I would like to point out A. R. Izrailov, who solves like 90% of our issues within hours).

The least helpful for me is sometimes lack of the information provided. Updates without notes make me "lose time" investigating what changed and what new functions were implemented/how they work. This is definitely something that could be improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The most benefiting for us is probably the infrastructure of the proxies, that our company doesnt need to invest into this infrastructure as BD provides it.

- overall decent quality of accessing websites via proxies, blocking issues are rare

- the lack of announcements about ongoing IDE or UI updates / techworks / bugs in repair can be rather frustrating sometimes

Bright Data proxies were extremely helpful and easy to use in our research project
What do you like best about the product?
We used Bright Data proxies for a scientific research project and it was excellent to be able to use proxies in many different countries all over the world. It was easy to set up the zones, with data center or ISP proxies, and use them from a browser; the proxy manager application made this very simple to configure.
What do you dislike about the product?
Since we needed proxies in several countries, some of which are probably not so commonly used, there were some cases where it was not possible to use ISP proxies (we used data center proxies instead) and some zones with higher percentage of failures.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For scientific research purposes, we need to browse the Internet as if we were in several different countries, to compare content depending on geography, and Bright Data's proxies were a solution to that problem.
