Centralized policy automation has strengthened daily firewall governance and simplified audits
What is our primary use case?
AlgoSec is primarily used for managing firewall policies, but I also rely on it for policy analysis, risk assessment, and compliance checks, which helps keep the network secure and properly configured.
In daily work, when a new access request comes in, AlgoSec analyzes the firewall rule and shows the risk level before any changes are made, and it checks compliance against policy so I can see if anything violates standards and fix it quickly, which makes audits and daily checks much easier.
AlgoSec fits well into the workflow because everything is centralized; visibility across all firewalls is available in one place, making it easier to manage change and keep things consistent.
What is most valuable?
The best features are centralized visibility, policy analysis, and automation, as AlgoSec gives a clear view of all firewall rules across the environment and helps identify risks and unused policies, and automation is relied upon for change management, compliance checks, and analyzing risk before implementing changes and generating audit-ready reports, which saves considerable time and improves security.
The policy analysis feature is used most frequently, as it helps quickly review firewall rules, spot risks, unused entries, and understand the impact of changes before applying them, which makes day-to-day management much safer and easier.
The reporting and audit features are also very useful, as they make it easy to generate compliance reports and keep track of changes, which helps significantly during audits.
Overall, AlgoSec has had a strong positive impact on the organization, improving visibility across the firewall environment, reducing manual efforts, and helping manage policy changes more securely and efficiently.
What needs improvement?
AlgoSec is a strong tool, but the UI can feel complex at times and the reporting could be more flexible, and better documentation and easier configuration would help with the initial setup and fine-tuning.
The UI navigation could be simplified and the dashboard made more customizable, and in reporting, it would help to have more flexible filters.
Nothing major beyond what has been mentioned, as overall, AlgoSec works well, but better reporting customization and a simpler UI would make it smoother to use.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using AlgoSec for almost two years now, mainly for network security and firewall policy management.

AlgoSec is quite stable and reliable, with no major downtime observed, consistently performing well for firewall analysis and change management.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
From experience, AlgoSec handles scalability well, as it continues to provide centralized visibility and policy management without performance issues as more firewalls are added.
AlgoSec's scalability is quite good, handling multiple firewalls and a growing environment without much issue while providing centralized visibility across everything.
How are customer service and support?
Support has been reached out to a few times for help with AlgoSec, and overall, the support has been responsive, helping in resolving issues and guiding through them.
Customer support for AlgoSec is good, as they are responsive and helpful when needed, generally guiding well through issues or configuration, with overall positive feedback around AlgoSec showing strong satisfaction and highlighting a supportive environment.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
No dedicated solution for firewall policy management was used before, as it was mostly manual firewall management, prompting the move to AlgoSec for better automation, visibility, and control.
How was the initial setup?
It was manageable to learn and adapt to AlgoSec, but there is a bit of a learning curve at the beginning, especially with policy analysis and configuration; however, once the team became familiar with it, adoption became smooth and day-to-day use is quite easy.
What was our ROI?
Approximately 40% of the time spent on manual firewall checks has been saved, and configuration errors have noticeably reduced since changes can be analyzed before applying them.
Apart from the saved time, AlgoSec has also reduced the overall workload on the team, as a lot of analysis and policy checks are automated, so manual reviews are not needed as frequently, which indirectly saves costs and allows the team to focus on more critical tasks.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Pricing for AlgoSec is fairly reasonable for the features it offers, with a manageable setup cost, and licensing is flexible, though it does require some planning based on environment size and needs.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
Several options were evaluated, such as Tufin and some native firewall tools, but AlgoSec stood out with its policy analysis, automation, and overall ease of managing a complex environment.
What other advice do I have?
In this case, integration works quite well, as AlgoSec connects smoothly with firewalls and other security tools, allowing for centralized visibility and policy management across different platforms with ease.
Planning the firewall structure and integration clearly before deployment is recommended, starting with core use cases such as policy analysis and compliance, as once it is set up properly, it really simplifies management.
Overall, AlgoSec is a reliable and effective solution for managing firewalls and policies, particularly with its automation and visibility features, which simplify day-to-day operations. The review rating for this product is nine out of ten.

Its end-to-end visibility unifies firewall analysis, connectivity, and risk insights, enhancing security governance and decision-making.
Automation has reduced manual firewall work and compliance reporting is now streamlined
What is our primary use case?
I have approximately several years of experience with AlgoSec. I work with AlgoSec as a partner rather than as a reseller or customer selling the product. My clients use AlgoSec for various purposes, and as both a reseller and user, I have directly utilized the solution myself. The biggest advantages that stand out for me include the significant benefits the product delivers to my clients.
What is most valuable?
Automation capabilities within AlgoSec help to reduce manual work and manual errors in security management. AlgoSec performs exceptionally well in terms of optimizing firewall rules, and I have observed examples with improvements from optimizing firewall rules. AlgoSec includes a compliance reporting component, and I generate compliance reports once a day. In terms of integration, AlgoSec demonstrates strong capabilities for integration with infrastructure.
What needs improvement?
I have identified several areas for improvement and disadvantages. Dynamic management is the core problem I see with AlgoSec. When I compare AlgoSec with competitors such as Check Point and Tufin, I observe some significant differences with respective pros and cons. From my personal experience, I can identify a leader among these solutions. In terms of pricing, AlgoSec is relatively affordable compared to other products on the market.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have approximately several years of experience with AlgoSec.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
AlgoSec is generally stable, though I have heard about some glitches or latency issues. If I were to rate stability on a scale from zero to ten points, with ten being the most stable, I would give AlgoSec a six. The most frequent stability issue is the reason I assign this rating.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
If I were to rate scalability for AlgoSec from zero to ten, with ten being the best, AlgoSec deserves a seven in this field. This rating is slightly higher than stability. There are some limitations in scalability, and it can be expensive to scale, which is the reason for assigning seven points.
How are customer service and support?
In terms of technical support from AlgoSec, I would rate it on a scale from zero to ten points, with ten being the best. I would give support a four points rating.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
In the past, we discussed Aviatrix, another product. I did not replace Aviatrix with a similar solution but rather stopped working with it. In the past, I mentioned other global vendors such as Fortinet and Palo Alto firewalls. I am still dealing with some of them.
How was the initial setup?
When comparing AlgoSec in terms of price and features to Tufin and other competitors, the installation process and deployment are relatively easy rather than being quite complex. I may face some specific challenges when deploying AlgoSec.
What was our ROI?
Although this question is primarily for an end client or user, I can still provide some insight. I observe some savings with AlgoSec in terms of time savings. If I were to put this into a percentage, considering that it is personal for all customers, the approximate time savings would be approximately twenty to thirty percent or potentially more or less.
