A must have tool for all DevOps/SysOps professionals

What do you like best about the product?
New Relic is a must have infrastructure monitoring tool that offers an unparalleled level of detail for businesses. With New Relic, users can dive deep into their infrastructure and applications, gaining valuable insights and fine-grained control. The platform's free tier is remarkably generous, providing access to essential features without compromising on functionality. The graphical user interface (GUI) is clean and intuitive, although it can be slightly overwhelming due to the wealth of information presented (it took me a while to grasp it). However, once users familiarize themselves with the interface, they can harness its power to optimize performance and streamline operations effectively. I've used it to pinpoint performance issues in our PHP code, and not only New Relic helped me out on that, but it also told me that some remote service queries were taking longer than normal. All with fancy graphics and maps!
What do you dislike about the product?
From time to time, the notice that the free tier is about to end can be annoying. The graphical interface is so complete that it can be overwhelming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
New Relic helps me to do source code profiling and to find SQL queries that could be optimized

What do you like best about the product?
We changed the backend stack and it was pretty easy to migrate our newrelic integration
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing new since last time. I still feel like I underutilize the features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Measuring resource allocation with our PaaS so that we don't pay for resources that too far exceed what we actually need, as well as letting me know when we need to scale up further.

What do you like best about the product?
We use NewRelic to monitor performance of many production websites. This tool allows us to quickly discover and implement optimization opportunities. We like NewRelic for its ability to monitor both backend and frontend areas of a website in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like the BE performance trace presentation. It does not allow for easy navigation, i.e. it would be nice to show search results in a seprate window, along with corresponding timings. Also sometimes it shows "unattributed" time, which is confusing, would be nice to know what caused it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Complex applications have many "moving" parts, and when someting stops working as fast as it should, we use NewRelic to access a website and pinpoint the issue root cause.

What do you like best about the product?
New Relic provides actionable insights and recommendations based on the collected data. It helps to identify areas for optimization and track the impact of code changes or infrastructure upgrades.
What do you dislike about the product?
Mastering the platform and leveraging its full capabilities may take time
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
New Relic's APM capabilities helped to gain visibility into the performance of our applications. It allowed us to monitor response times, transaction traces, database queries, external service integrations, and other performance metrics. This information helped us identify bottlenecks, optimize performance, and improve user experience.

What do you like best about the product?
I like mostly the APM (Application performance monitoring) feature, which provides insights into the slow performance of individual transactions with each and every details.
What do you dislike about the product?
Mostly I feel the user interface seems difficult to go around. Difficult to find the options sometimes. UI is less attractive so may be I feel the improvement in that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
During Log analysis, When I find the word then it shows it's all matching words including time details as well instead exact match. I am not sure if there is any documentation that how to do the exact search but I couldn't find it.

Great for Detailed Insights and Integrations, But Can Be Overwhelming

  • June 29, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
As an IT specialist using New Relic every day, I've come to deeply appreciate the tool's all-in-one observability feature. It's like having a bird's-eye view of my entire tech stack. Whether it's the front end, back end, or infrastructure, I can monitor, debug, and improve every aspect with ease. This gives me a level of control that's hard to match. It's like having a powerful microscope to inspect every aspect of the software we run. This helps me troubleshoot and optimize our systems for maximum efficiency, which is a game-changer in my daily work.

One feature I particularly enjoy is the integration support. With over 600 integrations available, New Relic smoothly meshes with almost any tool we use in our tech stack. This interoperability saves me time and reduces friction in my workflow, as I can handle many tasks from within New Relic itself, without having to switch between different tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
On the flip side, while it's hard to find much to criticize about New Relic, there's one thing that can be a bit of a challenge. With such an extensive range of features, it can sometimes be overwhelming, especially for new users or those not deeply familiar with all aspects of system monitoring. I would love to see more streamlined onboarding and user-friendly guides to help navigate the tool more easily.

Also, a minor gripe I have is with the visualization aspect. While the data provided is comprehensive, I feel that the visualization tools could be more intuitive and aesthetically pleasing. A more engaging visual representation of data could make it easier to interpret complex information at a glance and share insights with non-technical team members.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of the biggest benefits I've found with New Relic is its ability to offer real-time insights into our system's performance. This allows us to proactively tackle potential issues before they turn into significant problems, saving us considerable time and resources. In the tech world, where every second counts, this is a massive advantage.

What do you like best about the product?
The previous statement is still true. We use new relic daily and it has helped us find issues and areas to improve.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't think of much. We have had a good experience and no longer have much trouble building queries.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
New relic shows us real time load and response time along with errors and individual transaction statistics which helps us find and fix issues in less time.

One of the best observability platforms

  • June 28, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
One thing I like about New Relic is its move toward a more open and flexible observability platform. The unified telemetry data approach makes it easy to work with metrics, logs, and traces in one place.

I also like the smarter automation features - it helps detect issues and root causes faster without heavy manual analysis. Overall, it feels more developer-friendly and efficient.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing that made me like New Relic less is that the platform can still feel quite complex, especially for new users. With so many features and configurations, it’s not always easy to get up and running quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're using NR mostly for application performance monitoring

Every Organisation Can Benefit from a Strong Observability Platform

  • June 21, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Observability for your whole software stack, from infrastructure to applications to user experience, on a single platform. This makes it simple to obtain a comprehensive understanding of your system and solve issues quickly.

Has many analytics tools available, such as metrics, events, logs, and traces. This enables you to analyze the data further and identify the underlying reason for performance issues.

Even for non-technical users, it is simple to utilize. Various pre-built dashboards and reports are available on the platform, including an easy-to-use user interface.
What do you dislike about the product?
Costly: New Relic One is a paid platform, and some businesses may find the cost prohibitive.

Inflexible compared to several other platforms: Fresh Relic One's flexibility falls short of that of several other observability systems, including ELK Stack. For organizations with complicated requirements, this may be an issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
You may increase the speed and dependability of your program by using the powerful observability platform New Relic One. The platform has a large selection of analytics tools and is scalable and straightforward. However, some businesses may find the fee prohibitive, and the forum is not as versatile as other choices.
