What do you like best about the product?
I use Ubuntu for scripting purposes. I find its easy-to-use interface incredibly helpful, solving complex problems with small script codes, from bug fixing to compiling errors. The user interface is also attractive for programmers and developers, encouraging hands-on experience. What stands out most for me is Ubuntu's amazing processing computational power, which sets it apart. Additionally, having documented runbooks on the official sites makes the setup smooth without any hussles.
What do you dislike about the product?
The latency can be minimized, and a few minor bugs can be easily fixed by introducing regular software patches.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Ubuntu for scripting purposes. Its user-friendly interface helps solve complex problems with compact code, from bug fixing to compiling errors, making it attractive for programmers and developers.

Stable Environment, Effortless Development

  • February 05, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I use Ubuntu for development, testing, hardware integration, and deployment because it provides a stable, predictable environment. I appreciate that things don't randomly break after updates, and I feel confident because I know what's happening when I update, install tools, or tweak settings. The development tools just work out of the box, and if something goes wrong, the error messages are actually useful. This predictability reduces my cognitive load as updates and installs behave consistently, so I don't have to worry about surprise breakages or hunt for what changed. The initial setup is straightforward and fast. Installing a standard set of tools and syncing dotfiles is simple, and once documented, new team members can get a usable environment in just a couple of hours.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hardware support can still be a hit or miss, especially with newer laptops or GPUs. Things usually work, but sometimes you have to dig around for drivers, which breaks the flow. The desktop experience can be tighter. GNOME is clean, but some basic customizations need extensions, and those can break after updates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ubuntu gives me a stable, predictable environment. Development tools work out of the box, and error messages are useful. The predictability reduces my cognitive load, minimizing surprise breakages and making updates and installs consistent.

Powerful OS with User-Friendly Interface

  • January 31, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I use Ubuntu in my day-to-day work as an embedded software developer because it is very user-friendly and a good balance of command interface and GUI, unlike other Linux-based terminals that only have a command-line terminal. It works perfectly fine along with Windows through a virtual machine, and I can use it just like my Windows OS, which is superb. I appreciate that I can keep applications like Visual Studio, browse, maintain my repositories and files, and build software to flash and run on the hardware in the same environment. Managing things through the terminal is more user-friendly, and I have sudo access for managing permissions. Overall, Ubuntu provides a great environment/platform for building embedded software.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few minor issues with Ubuntu. I'd like it if there was an option for auto full-screen mode instead of just offering different size options for users to try different combinations. Also, I experience a lot of pop-up messages, like for upgrades or some kind of failures, which can be annoying. Sometimes, Ubuntu also tends to hang or lag, which could be improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Ubuntu because it's user-friendly and balances command interface with GUI. It works seamlessly with Windows via a virtual machine, supports applications like Visual Studio, and effectively manages code repositories, providing the necessary environment for building embedded software.

User-Friendly, Stable, and Highly Customizable Linux Distro

  • January 31, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ubuntu is a free, open-source Linux distro that’s known for being user-friendly, stable, and highly customizable. It’s lightweight and runs smoothly even on older hardware, and it also has a massive community that makes it easy to find help and support when you need it. On top of that, it receives regular updates and works well whether you’re coding, running servers, or just using it day to day.
What do you dislike about the product?
Snap can be sluggish, GNOME is a bit heavy, and some folks don’t vibe with Canonical’s corporate angle. Arch is cutting-edge but a bit more hands-on, while distros like Linux Mint (XFCE or MATE) or Pop!_OS are lighter and smoother on older hardware.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ubuntu gives me a free, stable, and easy-to-use platform that saves me money, keeps my old laptop running smooth, and offers tons of dev tools out of the box. It’s secure, customizable, and has a massive community for help.

What do you dislike about the product?
thing I dislike about Ubuntu is that some apps and software don’t work as easily as they do on Windows. Sometimes you have to use the terminal, which can feel confusing for beginners. Also, a few popular games and professional software are not fully supported
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is free to use, so I don’t have to pay for a license. It also runs smoothly on low or old laptops, which is helpful for students. Ubuntu is stable and doesn’t crash often, so my work feels safe. It also protects privacy better, with fewer ads and trackers

I use Ubuntu for my daily office work, especially with embedded systems, where it is very helpful. I appreciate that Ubuntu allows users to perform configurations easily, which is crucial in the domain of embedded systems. I love how Ubuntu allows any user to customize the user interfaces, add all kinds of open-source software with complete compatibility, and modify the icons using theme packages. Navigating the file system is efficient due to its simple structure. I also find the bash support and driver-building support provided by Ubuntu make work easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing as such, but for beginners, it may be difficult to navigate using the command line as the user interface does not expose all the features. It would be nice if Ubuntu adds a few more icons to the home screen to make it more easily accessible for beginners.

Efficient, Intuitive Server Management with Ubuntu

  • January 29, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like to use the commands and the way Ubuntu handles the server. Most importantly, Ubuntu is a part of the Docker containers that I build to host my application. The commands and interface are really intuitive, making it really easy to use compared to other Linux resources like Kali. Ubuntu makes it really easy to deploy, manage, and scale applications on the server side and on the cloud. The resource efficiency is particularly beneficial since I can't spend a lot on server RAM, and it makes the system computationally efficient, allowing me to post it on the server easily. These aspects help me greatly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes Ubuntu crashes. It's quite rare, but sometimes it does, and that can be improved. It causes a little bit of debugging for me, especially when my local Ubuntu in Windows gets corrupted.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ubuntu simplifies server-side application deployment with its intuitive commands and interface. It's resource-efficient, making it cost-effective for my startup with limited RAM budget. Ubuntu's integration with Docker also helps in building and hosting my applications easily on servers and cloud.
