The combination of security, control, and streamlined development makes it an ideal platform for anyone looking to build robust and reliable applications.

it has a smaller software selection compared to a full ubuntu desktop
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Because of the lighweight of ubuntu core the boot is quicker and more gives a more responsive development experience. This allows me to iterate faster and focus on what matters

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of Use - Ubuntu Server is known for its user-friendly interface and straightforward installation process, making it accessible even to users with limited experience in server administration.

Package Management with APT - Similar to Debian, Ubuntu Server utilizes the APT package management system, simplifying software installation, updates, and dependency resolution helping to provide various features.

Large Community and Support - Ubuntu Server benefits from a vast and active community of users and developers providing customer support 24/7.

Custom Software Support - It makes integration easier with homebrew software with its vast of library support which are always available for flawless integration.
What do you dislike about the product?
As a frequest user and due to its ease of implementing solutions, I do not have any cons with it for now.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am a software developer and I modify and host a custom game server for a free open-source first person shooter game in my mean time as a hobby and host it on a VPS running Ubuntu Server. Till this day, it has been a flawless experience.

What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Ubuntu Core for more than 3 years now and is an outstanding platform for hosting websites and applications, it provides me with good security, efficiency, and reliability. The best thing about this is that I can deploy it on any Azure instance or AWS instance because of it's lightweight design and automatic updates it helps me enhance system stability and security. Overall, Ubuntu Core is my preferred choice for any hosting needs. Its easy to implement features like apache2, servers and configurations. The customer support also helps if we stuck on any point of deployment. The integration between network protocols and security groups are pretty impressive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes its hard to degrade or remove packages.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The major problem it is solving is on security parameters where it provides all the packages that are required to establish a secure connection with my IoT devices.

What is our primary use case?

Ubuntu Linux is an operating system. We use it from time to time if some applications require it.

What is most valuable?

The security features are okay. The solution is easy to use. It performs well.

What needs improvement?

The stability could be improved.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The tool is stable enough. I rate the stability an eight out of ten.

How are customer service and support?

The technical support must be good since the tool is well known and is implemented in many places. We can find the information we need on the web.

How was the initial setup?

The deployment can be done in an hour. Our technical team deployed the tool in our organization. The number of people needed for the deployment depends on the scale of deployment. One person is enough to deploy the solution in one system. More people would be required if we needed 100 servers.

What other advice do I have?

If Ubuntu is required for your application, you should use it. Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

The product serves as an essential operating system for starting a PC. Once the system is up, users can install applications, browse the internet, and perform various tasks. It serves as the foundation for daily computing activities.

How has it helped my organization?

The primary benefits of using Ubuntu include its reliability, security, and cost-effectiveness. It provides a robust operating system foundation for various computing tasks, making it an invaluable tool for both personal and professional use.

What is most valuable?

Apart from a subscription based pricing, the product's free version is highly useful, offering multiple graphical user interface (desktop environments) options. Ubuntu can be installed on server (server verion), workstation & standard PC, also it is available as Ubuntu terminal environment on Windows with Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL). This caters to a wide range of system and user needs. Its Linux-based nature makes it preferred among technical professionals, including developers and network administrators.

What needs improvement?

The main challenge is restoring the system from a crashed state, which can be complicated for non-technical users. However, with experience, this becomes more manageable.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Ubuntu for around six to seven years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The platform is stable.

The platform is scalable. It is used by all users in my organization, totaling around 200 executives who use Ubuntu for learning. Developers primarily use it daily for various tasks.

The setup process for the product is straightforward, offering both graphical and non-graphical installation options. Improvements could include bug fixes, enhancements, and upgrades, which are typically addressed in future releases.

What about the implementation team?

Implementing Ubuntu is easy and can be done in-house without the need for external support. Creating a bootable USB installer and following the installation process is typically all that's required.

What was our ROI?

Since Ubuntu is freely available for download and use, there is virtually no investment required, resulting in a high ROI.
