The notification system should be redefined if it has been integrated into Sophos central, as it is not entirely clear how to configure the events so that they are not intrusive.

2. Heartbeat-—NO HEARTBEAT Detection: Our endpoint has Sophos Endpoint, but it detected no heartbeat, so the solution to resolve it is to restart the firewall.
3. Central Management user account due to no function to integrate the LDAP Domain on Central Management policy the user account can only local user created and synchronize across the firewalls
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cloud synchronization, from our previous firewall: once we made some changes on the firewall we need to update it to all firewall but we do that in manual. in sophos it help us to imaplement in one to three clicks and then sync to all firewalls.

What do you like best about the product?
All the features it can offer, security, scalability, cloud management, mdm, price, everything.
What do you dislike about the product?
After having tried other solutions such as Fortinet, Sonicwall or Watchguard, the best one we have tried so far is Sophos and its universe of solutions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The Sophos firewall is used to protect business networks through deep packet inspection and threat prevention. It controls internet access with web and application filtering. Enables the creation of secure VPNs for remote or inter-site access. Manages bandwidth and segments the network by users or areas. Integrates with other Sophos products for synchronised defence.

What do you like best about the product?
The products were fairly simple to deploy. The Sophos team assisted with deployment and ensured it worked as expected before handing us off to our threat response team.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I disliked was how Sophos completely revamped their central dashboard. I'm able to navigate fine now, but midway through our contract, the whole look changed and categories were moved around. I also think the central dashboard can load a bit quicker.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sophos is constantly monitoring our devices and network for anomalies or threats and taking action. They partner with our security team to resolve suspicious activities or compromises in our user's data. This gives us piece of mind and a barrier from malicious actors.

firmware updates can occasionally cause unexpected issues or require manual intervention.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Threat Protection – It blocks malware, ransomware, and intrusions in real-time with features like IPS, ATP.

Uncontrolled Internet Usage – It enforces web filtering and application control to prevent access to harmful or unproductive sites.

Remote Access Security – It secures connections for remote workers using reliable VPNs.

Network Visibility – It provides deep insights into traffic, user activity, and threats through an intuitive dashboard.

What is our primary use case?

I use Sophos XGS as a firewall in the company, for web filtering and spam filtering, mail filtering, and education filtering. It serves as a firewall that handles concurrent users' needs of around 23,000 to 32,000 connections.

What is most valuable?

Mail filtering and web filtering are the most effective features. I have been using the tool as a firewall in the company, for web filtering and spam filtering, mail filtering, and education filtering, just a firewall that serves the concurrent users' needs. I find it much easier than others, like FortiGate, which is complicated in its installation, but Sophos XGS is really easy.

What needs improvement?

The reporting system is very poor. I cannot trace any traffic to our site if it feels some threats. It just tells me that there is something during a certain time but does not provide information about the type of threats or how to get rid of them. This needs improvement.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Sophos XGS since 2010, starting from the XG 110 and upgrading to XG 2100. I have been using Sophos starting from 2005 or 2004. It changed from Secure Computing to Sophos.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

The deployment took only two to three hours, which is not too much.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Sophos XGS is stable now, and I would rate its stability as a ten out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability is great. I can change what I want easily without interfering with other services or routines.

How are customer service and support?

I contacted Sophos support for a few questions, and they were very helpful. I would rate the support a nine.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I tested FortiGate, SonicWall, and Sophos. I decided to go for Sophos due to its easy deployment and troubleshooting, although it lacks in the reporting system.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup of Sophos XGS was easy and much simpler compared to other solutions like FortiGate.

What was our ROI?

The costs have increased with Sophos XGS in the last few years, with license prices going up by 30%, doubling from $2,500 to about $5,000, which is a big challenge for us.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Sophos XGS was reasonably priced initially, but the license cost has significantly increased in the last few years.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I tested FortiGate and SonicWall before opting for Sophos.

What other advice do I have?

I recommend Sophos XGS as it is easy, reliable, has good support, and is flexible and stable. If the reporting system and license price are improved, it would be great. It's a good firewall. I would rate the overall solution a ten out of ten.

What is most valuable?

I regard Sophos XG as a superior choice among firewalls due to its advanced security, user manual, and control panel features, among others. The firewall offers effective policy management, bandwidth management, and group policy features from a sales perspective.

Additionally, customer support is highly regarded, with a technical representative swiftly addressing customer queries through the Sophos partner portal.

What needs improvement?

Sophos XG is reaching its end-of-life and end-of-support; therefore, the user count limitation of particular models should be improved.

I have been working with Sophos XG for around five to six years.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like most about Sophos Firewall is its comprehensive approach to security, combining advanced threat protection with simple management. The integration with other Sophos solutions and its intuitive interface allows me to have more effective control over the network, without complications. Additionally, the ability to adapt to different network needs gives me the flexibility I am looking for.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that Sophos Firewall can be complicated to configure at first, especially when it comes to adjusting advanced rules or managing complex policies. Although it has many useful features, the interface is sometimes a bit unintuitive and can cause confusion for less experienced users.

What is most valuable?

The most effective features of Sophos XGS in enhancing my network security have been its ability to report on larger user bases and identify vulnerable users. It provides good protection services. What needs improvement?

Sophos should work on its marketing strategy as it seems to lag behind Fortinet. Their pricing strategy creates difficulty due to high availability, causing price undercutting without maintaining regular margins.
